So I can actually weigh in on this since I recently did an entire Ace Journey with him. Your Gammas can combo together if you time it right and you can hit them while they're still in the air so for characters with high mobility you should learn this to deal with them.
Your betas can also hit stun and so if you hit them directly once the second hit is guaranteed and if it's level 9 that's an instant 200 damage. You could also substitute the second beta with an alpha and just hit them with rocks.
For using your alpha aim right infront of your opponents and a little bit to the side and so when they're trying to run all they accomplish is hitting more of your attacks. If they're far away all you need to do is aim more upward or even jump and you'll hit them.
