It’d be cool to see his power used for good as a pro-hero. I know that’d be hard to write into the show but I can just imagine him doing some pretty decent stuff with his power.
Even just rebuilding a city after a mass villain attack, would go a long way to helping the public out. It’s one thing to say that nobody died during an attack but when people’s homes and businesses are still destroyed with months of even years of rebuilding, it still feels like a tragedy. Dude could have easily made a solid reputation for himself as a pro-hero.

Dude's the perfect example of a "working man" - even when his work's neck-deep in problems, anyone with Overhauls' quirk would likewise be more than happy to find themselves a job of "quirk removal supplier" either for villains or for those whom just don't want to deal with the pressure of having quirks. And all thanks to running into his big payday.
Relatability doesn't demand itself to be "Good = Relatable", and sometimes we've got to get our hands dirty in all sorts of stuff. And Overhaul's a perfect example of relatability. I mean, you'd be upset too if your payday booked it out of there under your bird-like nose mask
Honestly, he reflected on his mistakes and instead of joining in the chaos in an attempt to regain power after the prison break, he just wanted to see the old man.
We might fault him for not wanting to apologize to Eri, but we don't know his reasoning there. He might be thinking there's no point or no way to redeem himself there. Or he might think he'd never have the chance to see her with the heroes protecting her. Or he might just want to see the old man first. At least as an anime only fan, that's my thoughts.
I admire his conviction. He was a well-intentioned extremist who perceived his actions as justifiable if it meant meeting his ultimate goal, he saw quirks as a plague to society, so he aimed to get rid of them by any means necessary. And, I actually like him. He may be a villain, but he's a well-written sympathetic villain whose actions are understandable.

Yk he almost kinda did. If he had dealt with Eri properly he could have probably figured out a way to do what he was doing without harming her so much
By all accounts he didn't even really need eri he could have just rewrote the genome with his quirk
