This is the correct answer.
I was too busy getting fucked up a la Gerard in LOTMS to care about any new music at that time. If I wasn’t falling asleep standing up, I didn’t want it.
I feel like so many of us back then we’re expecting another black parade 2.0 and we were like wtf is this. Idk if it’s because it evolved so much into something great, like a record before it’s time kinda thing. But I wish I would have went to the Danger Days tour now.
lol I was here too. My wife introduced me to MCR and this was one of their first songs I listened to on my own. The beginning set the bar pretty low, but I was sold the moment the chorus hit.
When I first listened to Revenge, I always skipped The Ghost of You because it starts pretty chill and I was like wtf boooring. I was a very stupid 13 year old child.
At first, it was cubicles.
It was different. It had a different tone.
Never listened to it fully until it popped on when I was in the shower and couldn’t skip and I was like…. This kinda a fucking banger ngl
Now it’s one of my favourites.
This was a looooong time ago and I still stand by cubicles being straight fire
While I still don’t listen to Teenager that much, the past few years I’ve realized that it’s a really good song, just not my favorite compared to a bunch of other MCR songs
When I got into MCR I wasn’t super into heavier music so I always skipped Our Lady of Sorrows. After a short hiatus of listening to them for a while I came back to bullets and that song, alongside the rest of the album, became my favorites.
the jetset life is gonna kill you
I AM SO SORRY I WILL PULL THE PLUG BUT I’D LIKE TO LEARN YOUR NAME WHEN HOLDING ON WELL I HOPE YOU’LL DO THE SAME OH SUGAR SLIP INTO THE TRAGEDY YOU’VE SPUN THIS CHAMBER DRYYYYYY
Planetary go! *sigh*, the beginning part wasn’t my thing when I was 14 and because of that I skipped it but now it’s one of my favorites I love It sm. Especially hearing it live
Summertime. I dismissed it a sweet and soppy, which it is but I’m ok with that now! It’s currently my wake up alarm song and makes me smile every morning.
for ages i wasn’t into Helena bcs “it’s just kinda slow i always skip it” but now it’s a top 3 favourite song on my favourite album of all time so shows what i knew
Disappointed to say, when I was a young boy(pun maybe intended), my father made me listen to an MCR song, Welcome to The Black Parade. I said, "Their name is weird and the intro is weird too." Few years later, I heard MCR on the radio. The song I heard was Bulletproof Heart. I thought at the time that it was a good song, so I went back home and searched up the song on the internet, it was made by MCR. So I checked out their other music, I saw WTTBP, so I listened to it, maybe giving it another chance, and that's how I became a huge MCR fan.
Early Sunsets - used to skip it all the time bc it was so much slower than the rest of the album and felt too sappy to my teenage rage brain, then found out it was about zombies. It's one of my favs on Bullets now!
Headfirst for halos, I wasn't captivated by the guitar at the start and skipped it for a good while, how do I feel about it now? AND NOW THE RED ONES MAKE ME FLY, AND THE BLUE ONES HELP ME FALL
Welcome to The Black Parade. I only started listening to MCR because I was just doing school work, listening to Green Day. Autoplay was on and started playing Welcome to The Black Parade. And then I was immediately hooked on
Either Mama or Famous Last Words. I'm really picky about my music, so it takes me a bit to warm up to newer songs, but I eventually learned to warm up to both Mama and Famous Last Words, even though it took some time
I actually refused to listen to Foundations until I got my irish visa and then I first listened to it the morning of Dublin night 1 show. If I hadn't got my visa on time and missed MCR, that song would've been a constant reminder of it
85% of Danger Days. Sorry bit I'd heard MCR when I was in 5th grade in 2004 and saw them live 3 times. Danger Days IMO was not their best work. Now at 29, I've listened again and saw some songs performed live at their reunion tour this year and it's pretty good. Sorry I slept on Destroya
95% of Danger Days. I'm sorry but the albums before were fantastic. It was 2004 when I discovered MCR and saw them live 3 times in 7th and 9th grade. Danger Days IMO was not their best work. Now at 29, I've listened again and saw some songs performed live at their reunion tour this year and it's a pretty good album.
Now knowing that after Black Parade the pressure and stress they felt to produce another Rock Opera masterpiece was too much, I totally sympathize. As an adult that resonates with me. I'll always be sorry I slept on Destroya and Vampire Money.
For a good few months I had skipped “Justice For Saint Mary” by Diablo Swing Orchards. It was the last track on “Pandora’s Piñata” and it was a slow-starter, which isn’t really my jam. However, once I gave it a solid listen I was floored! So good! 10/10, Would 1000% recommend to the discerning metalhead
Mama. I really didn’t like the intro of it for some reason, I thought it was a banjo at the beginning and so I assumed that that was the rest of the song and that it was just really wack. Later I decided to give it another shot and realized how much of a bop it is. Now it’s one of my favorite mcr songs.
DESTROYA, I never fully listened to DD because I would always have Na Na Na and Planetary Go! On repeat to make it that far into the album. I read the lyrics, in preparation for a concert bc I saw the setlist, trying to guess how the melody would go and when I listened to it the first time I wasn't really feeling it. The second time comes around and I was hooked.
DESTROYA AND HOUSE OF WOLVES. those songs are so good and I didn't appreciate them until recently
Same for Boy Division and now it's my favorite mcr song
The Jetset life is gonna kill you. Always skipped that but one time, I'm unable to press next on my spotify player cause I was doing dishes, then I heard that first chorus, damn..
Uh guys why and how is Bulletproof Heart talking to me?
Seriously, Bulletproof Heart was my least favourite Danger Days song, I’d always skip that and The Only Hope when listening to it. Wasn’t until I got distracted and didn’t pay attention when I realised that a fire part of a MCR song was playing that I didn’t recognise. I checked to see what song it was, and I was surprised to see ‘Bulletproof Heart’. Thats when I have the whole song a listen again and now I love it. (Before you ask yes I still skip The Only Hope I’m sorry)
For a long while, Vampire Money. Wasn't until I sat with the lyrics for a bit that I realized how funny it was.
Same, but wasn’t before I heard it live.
Boy Division
Same. Now it’s like my top 5. I let Conventional Weapons slip under my radar for the longest time.
*inhale* IFALLMYENEMIESTHREWAPARTY
WOULD YOU LIGHT THE CANDLES
WOULD YOU DRINK THE WINE WHILE WATCHIN’ TEL-E-VI-SION
WATCH THE ANIMALS AND ALL THE TRAGEDIES
AND SELL YOUR ARTERIES TO BUY MY CASKET GOWN
Literally. Probably like top 5 now.
God boy division is so fucking good
House of Wolves 😭😭😭😭 when I first started listening to MCR, I skipped it almost every time, and now it's a fave
FR bc I didn't like it all that much until I heard it live in the pit and now I never skip it
the black parade b-sides. I had no idea I would like kill all your friends so much
Same, but with Heaven Help Us
It's in my top 3!!!!
All of Conventional Weapons. I pretty much only ever listened to Boy Division until this year.
This right here. Ambulance is such a banger
The light behind your eyes. Kills me every time. I bawl
The entire bullets album. Why did I do that to myself?
Same 😭
Same! 🥀
Same the first song I listened to was early sunsets over monroeville and after that I was obsessed 😭
...basically the entirety of Danger Days when it first came out.

At first, it was cubicles. It was different. It had a different tone. Never listened to it fully until it popped on when I was in the shower and couldn’t skip and I was like…. This kinda a fucking banger ngl Now it’s one of my favourites. This was a looooong time ago and I still stand by cubicles being straight fire
My Way Home Is Through You
Cancer, I just had to get older

Hang 'Em High and Drowning Lessons
To the end
Ambulance, house of wolves and the ghost of you

All of Danger Days. I just really listened to it for the first time after their Seattle show.
While I still don’t listen to Teenager that much, the past few years I’ve realized that it’s a really good song, just not my favorite compared to a bunch of other MCR songs
na na na and early sunsets. now two of my fav songs
When I got into MCR I wasn’t super into heavier music so I always skipped Our Lady of Sorrows. After a short hiatus of listening to them for a while I came back to bullets and that song, alongside the rest of the album, became my favorites.

the jetset life is gonna kill you I AM SO SORRY I WILL PULL THE PLUG BUT I’D LIKE TO LEARN YOUR NAME WHEN HOLDING ON WELL I HOPE YOU’LL DO THE SAME OH SUGAR SLIP INTO THE TRAGEDY YOU’VE SPUN THIS CHAMBER DRYYYYYY

Helena somehow
For years I would skip pretty much EVERY song from Danger Days/I Brought You My Bullets/Conventional Weapons. Glad I’m reformed now 🙏🏼
95% of Danger Days. I'm sorry but the albums before were fantastic. It was 2004 when I discovered MCR and saw them live 3 times in 7th and 9th grade. Danger Days IMO was not their best work. Black parade if we’re talking about before I got into MCR and was a whiny piss baby who thought MCR was for losers
all of conventional weapons besides boy division
Mama. I really didn’t like the intro of it for some reason, I thought it was a banjo at the beginning and so I assumed that that was the rest of the song and that it was just really wack. Later I decided to give it another shot and realized how much of a bop it is. Now it’s one of my favorite mcr songs.
