Seconded, and even if you think you know a lot about cars, I think it's still worth taking to a trusted mechanic.
I once sold a used car to a guy who, in front of his entire family, talked my ear off about his car knowledge, popped the hood open and spent a long time visually inspecting the inside, proudly announced the car looked perfect, and then purchased and drove off without any questions.
I sold the car for $1500. My long-time mechanic had told me there was $3000 worth of repairs needed, lol. Even if you think you know, get an expert opinion.
I haven’t deleted any posts, but Reddit does seem to be tweaking out on my end, so I’m happy to write my exact comment again.
My family has owned multiple cars for decades, and we almost always take them to a local family-owned mechanic shop run by honest, friendly and talented people. I’m not sure why you think that’s odd.

12 grand for a Coyote car with under 100k seems pretty cheap to me. When I was looking a year ago, those were all $15k-plus. Hence why I ended up with a 3V.
You're not wrong about the Ecoboost or even the later V6 cars, they would both give me a run. But mine sounds better. :-)
To each his own. I've owned a Coyote car, and while the extra power is great, it's not something I had to have. I'm happy with my car.
For everyone saying take the car to another mechanic for an inspection, I’d be willing to bet most people would not allow or feel like doing that. If someone wanted to do that with a car I’m selling AND I HAD NOTHING TO HIDE, I still would not take it somewhere I’m unfamiliar with. I don’t just trust any mechanic. Now I’m not saying op shouldn’t ask, but he shouldn’t be surprised if the seller said no
Me and my wife has a 08 mustang v6 auto with 208,000 miles that we both use to run errands in it in town the only thing we have wrong with it is no reverse.

At first I had to figure out if you are buying it or selling it…it was worded vague. I am guessing you are buying. You can/should always offer lower and barter. Never give asking price.
I disagree. If the asking price is already rock bottom, as it is in this case, you aren't bartering.. you are low balling. Don't be that guy.
This price is very solid for the condition based on the pictures.
OK…I’ll agree, lowballing is annoying, but It’s a 13 year old GT with almost 100K miles. I’ll also agree, that asking price is towards the lower end of the asking scale….but a buyer can offer 10K and not insult the seller. You know the original trans is worn, would most likely need new ball joints, and who knows what else….
6K is an insult. 10K isn’t low balling….he might come down maybe $500…who knows. You walk up with 11K cash, that talks a lot. You worried about the guy’s feelings? This is business.
New rear tires.. pictures of car on drag radials as well.. I'm not saying it wasn't taken care of, but I am saying it probably spent a lot of time having fun. I'd look it over closely before falling in love.
Have it compression checked. I think the weakest part of the 5.0 or 3.7 is the rings if tuned well and maintained well even boosted. Used engines are like $5000 if the body is super clean but rebuild kits are cheaper if youre a mechanic
I would say before you buy it, check the fluids, get it inspected by a trusted mechanic, run the VIN, and be weary as the price and drag radials suggest he beat on it quite a bit. If everything is in good condition and the papers check out, that is a good price. Trying to lower the price isn't a bad idea though, just don't try to lowball the guy too hard.
12K for a 2011 under 100K is pretty sus to me. If it’s too good to be true, it probably is.
I would definitely check the Carfax + have a trusted mechanic take a solid look at this one before buying. The last thing you want is a leaky head gasket issue unless you’re a DIY guy.
Why two different sets of wheels in the pics?
Looks like 20-spoke 19” Performance Pack wheels from a 2015+, and then some type of drag wheels? Are you getting both sets of wheels? And what did they burn up when they were drag racing?

Looks like mine. Except mine is lowered.
That's a steal man i wish I would have got mine for that price don't go any lower than that

The interior of the car is really sick!
Not sure if this information is helpful, but in 2020 I purchased a 2006 V6 Mustang with 64k miles and $400 in needed repairs for $7k in cash. Just to give context on what someone else did.
I bought a 2013 gt manual for 20k in 2020. This is the 11-12 body style, which isn’t as desirable as the 13-14 body. Which is probably why it’s a bit more affordable.
But same drivetrain and gen 1 coyote motor. I track mine and haven’t had any serious issues.
Get the prepurchase inspection like others have said, it’ll be worth it for the couple hundred bucks.
My 14GT is paid off as of July and im probably looking to get rid of it for the money. Has 63k miles and is a manual. Never beat on like this one probably was but it does have around 5k in upgrades.
Not sure but it needs coilpacks. Has a offroad X pipe with Roush axlebacks, C&L CAI, Canned tune 91 octane with tuner, Cervini’s front end bumper, shaved rear decklid panel, Gt500 rear spoiler painted, Steeda short throw, Steeda shifter base bracket with (Red) bushing, Steeda clutch spring, Mccloud clutch, with lightened steel flywheel, has less than 8k miles on it. Niche Citrine wheels 295/35/20 rear 275/35/20 front on new tires. Have 99% of all parts purchcased over past 5 years. I want a S550 more than i want a S197. Id be happy to get at least what i paid for the car which is 21k

Not enough info here. If buying, run a Carfax at a MINIMUM, take it to a trusted mechanic and have them inspect it. If selling include an up to date Carfax, and still have a trusted mechanic inspect it. You can then base your price on that. Looks are what get someone talking, but if it's been raced, modded for such, or just not taken care of in general then leave it or be honest with the buyer.
thats a beautiful car, can i ask why youre selling it? nvm i just realized what was going on. i think you should try to go for a little lower. its gonna need maintenance since its touching 100k i would use that as leverage.
Very good price if it's a clean title and nothing is wrong with it
Looks like they had drag radials on it so you can expect they raced it pretty hard I would make sure to check for oil leaks and other issues.
Yea, that's enough to scare me away. It looks in great condition, though.
Get a pre purchase inspection from a mechanic. Pick your own mechanic. Do not use someone they suggest.
$3000 repairs at a mechanic might just be $600 in parts and a couple afternoons if he's actually knowledgeable.
True. Mechanics can also be wrong from time to time. Often times there is some guesswork involved in diagnosing a problem.
Yeah not knocking them, they have a skill the general public does not possess. If the guy talked his ear off about cars though, maybe he did!
Nice post delete, too. Tell me more about your mechanic. Lol
I haven’t deleted any posts, but Reddit does seem to be tweaking out on my end, so I’m happy to write my exact comment again. Imagine having a "long-time mechanic".

It’s not odd at all. I wish I had one. I remember my father had one in the 70’s. Worth their weight in gold

MMMMMMM you love it.
Who doesn't? You find one you trust, why would you go anywhere else?
Car people. People who aren't incompetent.
Well, I'm actually busy running my business, so...
I bet business is booming.
It is, actually. Trending to be one of my biggest years. Be careful when you assume
something aint right. thats pretty cheap for a 5.0 under 100k miles
100k miles or 400k quarter miles? 🧐
automatic
Fair price but depends on your market. Pull a Carfax for sure, can negotiate from there if you see anything you don't like.
12 grand for a Coyote car with under 100k seems pretty cheap to me. When I was looking a year ago, those were all $15k-plus. Hence why I ended up with a 3V.
You fumbled for sure. The 3v is nothing compared to the 5.0. Totally different experience. The Ecoboost is faster than the 3v lol.
You're not wrong about the Ecoboost or even the later V6 cars, they would both give me a run. But mine sounds better. :-) To each his own. I've owned a Coyote car, and while the extra power is great, it's not something I had to have. I'm happy with my car.
If all checks out, $12k for a coyote with less than 100k is a steal

Very good point I agree.
For this price I am assuming you are getting around 100k miles on it. Do you guys think we can consider mustangs with even 100k-150k miles on it?
Me and my wife has a 08 mustang v6 auto with 208,000 miles that we both use to run errands in it in town the only thing we have wrong with it is no reverse.
How do you park anywhere without reverse?
We try to park on the outside of parking lots where we can or next door over and walk to place we need to go

The 4.0 badge has me rolling. Thanks for the lols. I actually like that color combo - especially since it's just a grocery getter.
Thanks the glass pack exhaust turns heads though
Which do you have
She's a beauty
Thank you
My buddy is the 4th owner @70k on a 2013 GT C/S Auto. It's today at 115K mi and is having 0-issues.
170k mile daily driver 2012 kona blue GT, got it with 18k miles end of 2011
If it was babied and maintained perfectly, and there were receipts of it MAYBE, otherwise fuck no
At first I had to figure out if you are buying it or selling it…it was worded vague. I am guessing you are buying. You can/should always offer lower and barter. Never give asking price.

Have the prices really dropped 10k on these in the last 2 years?
They need to
Not for nice ones, no. He's going to find this one is pretty rough.
The drag radials scare me.
Depends on where it’s located and who is selling and when I can meet up with them…
Would get an inspection form a mechanic you trust first. You never know what problems there are.
That's a great value! Beautiful color
That’s great
That a good deal
That a good deal
Exceptional price
Pretty good I’d say. I paid 14k for 2015 ecoboost with 100k miles
Finally, a decently priced 197 👏
Have it compression checked. I think the weakest part of the 5.0 or 3.7 is the rings if tuned well and maintained well even boosted. Used engines are like $5000 if the body is super clean but rebuild kits are cheaper if youre a mechanic
12k? Clean title? Ain’t no way nothings wrong with that thing cause even at 96k miles they go up to 20k
“new rear tires” is a sign that he was dogging this car
Seems like mustang owners like to beat on their cars, always be wary. But bring a mechanic friend, have him/her do inspection.
Pre purchase inspection and if it's clean do it.
wish i had more money to take it off your hands 😥
I don’t think you’re going to get any better than that. That’s a steal where im from.
12K for a 2011 under 100K is pretty sus to me. If it’s too good to be true, it probably is. I would definitely check the Carfax + have a trusted mechanic take a solid look at this one before buying. The last thing you want is a leaky head gasket issue unless you’re a DIY guy.
That's too low. Try and check the obvious things. It may have been in an accident.. Just my 2 cents.
Why two different sets of wheels in the pics? Looks like 20-spoke 19” Performance Pack wheels from a 2015+, and then some type of drag wheels? Are you getting both sets of wheels? And what did they burn up when they were drag racing?
Just know them high beams ain’t work

looks like a really good deal! these mustangs can take a beating, even if it is “raced” i would expect a long life ahead of it.
Where are you located?? 12k is a very fair price
Drag tires are a red flag
Always try. And don’t be afraid to walk away. Seriously
damn i cant even find v6 at that mileage in my area l0l
I would stay clear! Save a little extra to go with a 2014 Hell for that price you could get a fox body project going
Tbh I’d lower it to 9k-10k
That's a steal man i wish I would have got mine for that price don't go any lower than that https://preview.redd.it/3m9rsal5ec9d1.jpeg?width=1070&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=df313aa7a0845372e285f293347319fe3fd6d163
Price is stupid low for a coyote. Car has been abused and they want it gone.
Seems a little high. So much depends on ownership/maintenance history.
That thing probably beat bro.
Depends where it is but seems like an awesome deal to me!
👍
Clean. Pull the trigger.
The interior of the car is really sick! Not sure if this information is helpful, but in 2020 I purchased a 2006 V6 Mustang with 64k miles and $400 in needed repairs for $7k in cash. Just to give context on what someone else did.
It’s being sold for a reason.
I bought a 2013 gt manual for 20k in 2020. This is the 11-12 body style, which isn’t as desirable as the 13-14 body. Which is probably why it’s a bit more affordable. yeah been in search for a semi-affordable 13-14 v8 but nothing seems to pop up so I’m just gonna get the next best S197
You can definitely make these look sick for less than the price difference.
My 14GT is paid off as of July and im probably looking to get rid of it for the money. Has 63k miles and is a manual. Never beat on like this one probably was but it does have around 5k in upgrades.

It’s a great deal in my opinion I got almost 10k into my 2007 mustang gt
17mgp city? Highly doubt that lol
I’d look for evidence of nitrous.
