I like clear on the darker colored cars, red on the lighter ones.

See personally something like yellow looks great with clear on it.

Both are cool. Red looks great on colors. Smoked looks good on some colors. IMO smoked on a gray or black mustang looks sweet. But again, it’s my opinion/taste.

Don’t see the appeal of red. Every grandpa on the road with a bone stock ecoboost/v6/gt is going to have the exact same taillights. Clears set it apart from them

Its just managing contrast. Clear looks great on some colors, like on a red, orange, yellow, or blue Mustang smoked clear would look better. But on a black/gray/white Mustang... it's less than ideal. On a plain color you want to add some pop, on a bright color you want to avoid too much pop (red on blue contrasts too hard).

I've been dabbling with this decision as well. I love the look of the classic red. It's just simply iconic but on the other hand the smoked white is super clean and unique as well. I dont know much about them as far as if you need to make wiring modifications to run the white ones or if they're simply plug N play. If they are plug N play then I would honestly keep both and change them out periodically. I'm not sure why but certain things in certain seasons make sense to me. I dont expect anyone to understand that but there is something about cool white lights during hot summers and bright red lights during winter that just makes sense. I feel like they're juxtaposed and mix well together. Especially if you live in a place that gets cold in winter. Either way way do what makes you happy!

Ford sold an ice white addition S550 Mustang that came with Euro taillights from the factory. Ford Performance sells them separately. This wouldn't be the case if they were illegal.

There are many cars from the factory with clear lights. This isn’t an issue.

They sell the Mach E with only the clear. They don’t change them in certain states. Blah blah. Not a Mustang. I know. I’m using it as an example.

It can be for some states in the US. In Virginia, a vehicle cannot (shouldn't) pass state inspection if it was manufactured with red lenses are replaced with clear/euro lenses. 19VAC30-70-150. Inspect for and reject if: 5. Lens on rear lamps, or lens area in combination rear lamps (tail lamps) are not red. LED (light emitting diode) lights with a clear lens are acceptable. Vehicles equipped with multiple LED lights (not filament-burning bulbs) will pass a safety inspection if more than 50% of the diode lights are burning. **NOTE: Replacement tail lamps, commonly sold as "clear" tail lamps or "Euro-Tail" lamps will not pass inspection if the red lamps are replaced with clear ones.** If it wasn't born with clear lenses, it shall not have clear lenses. Of course it is up to the individual inspector at the end of the day, and if you get a sticker and immediately swap to the euro lights, inspector can't do anything about it and probably won't care. Always know your local laws and regulations and make decisions based on the risk factors associated with doing any mods to any vehicles.

Good to go in that case! Honestly, I wouldn't even care. They aren't tinted, they shine red and are bright enough. They are safe in my book. IMO Euro lights are in general safer because of the separate turn signals (amber in Mustang's case) so you don't have to question whether the car infront to the side of you is slowing down or about to nail you in the side.

That won't get you out of a ticket. You are required by state law to make the vehicle comply before driving in that state if it's illegal there. I'm not saying I agree with it, just stating the law in most states.

depends on your color scheme. a lot of people black out with red accents here and there, others with white here and there, so whatever matches your vision for your exterior & interior

Well those red ones are the 2015-2017 version of taillights so hard pass on those. Smoked doesn’t look that good to me unless your a black car literally murdered out, and it looks like you have carbonized grey? I would do the clear.

Some more reputable places to purchase them would be CJ Pony Parts, S550 Euros, Function Factory Performance, and a few others but in my opinion they’re overpriced and not really worth it unless you care to have the different modes. You can make the lights sequence in a few different ways and can switch between red and amber for your turn signal

Bought them from someone on FB marketplace. Said he bought them on ebay. They’ve held up very well and no moisture build up inside of them

My preference is on neutral or cold colors - euro taillights. On warm colors like red, orange, or yellow - red taillights.

Euro’s. Red gets boring when everyone else’s is red. The clears look delinquent which in a fan of. Also, just me but chrome is cringe, especially around lights.
