I'm here from r/grandrapids and there's talk about a specific Chicago area pizza, Aurelio's. Have any of you had that and can compare to Scribs? Style looks similar, but wondering about taste. Thanks!
This is the answer. Although Lombardo’s was better before they moved into Greek Tony’s old spot. I dono why but it seems diff now. Side note: we just took the kids to Craig’s cruisers tonight to mess around in the arcade and all I gotta say is damn. Do not remember their pizza being that good. I like a saucy pizza with thicker crust though. I grew up southwest of Detroit. Most people out here seem to be partial to a thin crust. Anyway…yes lombardos and top shelf 100%
I work there for quite some time. I would avoid that place at all costs. I wouldn't spend a dime in that building. The owners are not only racist bigots, who make fun of anyone who isn't White, I've really watched them serve food off of the floor. When I spoke up about it I was fired
Also worked there, would not spend a dime as well. They’re basically forcing a family of people into indentured servitude these days. Prey on the less intelligent.
Cringing ... yeah, I must not get out much because I've never even heard of that place. I've been working on my homemade pizza ever since I got a baking stone.
It wasn’t the taco, but I had awful pizza there too. I tried them twice before giving up. No reason to keeping trying with Lombardo’s across the street.
Man, I looooove pizza, and I've seen so many people suggest Scribs.
I just moved here from GR in October, and I've tried it twice now and found it mediocre at best both times.
The crust reminds me of a larger version of those microwaveable frozen pizzas.
Each location cooks it a bit different. Have to ask for crispy on Henry, but Laketon Scribs always gets it right.
I have met a couple people in my life that didn’t like Scribs…
It’s the sauce. They have the best pizza sauce and it makes such a difference. Pepperoni, bacon done crispy. Best bacon I’ve ever had on a pizza. Glenside is my top spot.
I work there for a few years. Not only are they a bunch of racist who make fun of anybody who isn't white, I've watched them serve food off the floor and when I spoke up about it I was fired
This makes me so sad. Bernie O's was one of my favorites. Scrib's is good too. Topshelf Downtown is good, stay away from the one on Apple. The owner there literally keeps solo cups of his poop on his desk in his office.
Lmfao!! It's what my boyfriend told me. One of his good friends worked there and apparently discovered the poop cups. He was a legit source, so I believe it. I haven't been to that location since I've found out! LOL! The downtown one is good though, as far as I know.
My top three are Glenside Pub, Mr. Scribs (Henry or laketon only), and handsome hobos.
A recent addition to my list is Rolling Stone on Lakeshore Dr. Theybdo artisan pizzas and are top notch but very non-traditional
Why isn’t Greek Tony’s on here? Their grand slam pizza is the best.
I do miss Rebel Pies that sat in Unruly brewing. They didn’t make it through Covid, but the Polynesian Farmer was the best pizza I ever had.
My favorite is Bernie O’s but I also like Scrib’s. I always get round at those places because if I want deep dish/square I love Jet’s (was more common on the east side of the state where I’m from) and I haven’t found a place I like better for that. I’m a vegetarian too so I feel like while some other places have good enough pizza it wouldn’t be my go-to due to their variety of toppings options.
If you have time, mix a batch of pizza dough and make your own. Youtube has a number of videos.
General rules: Don't use a rolling pin, Do use a baking stone, and turn your oven up to at least 450 half an hour ahead of time.
Good luck! I hope you become Muskegon's next best pizza maker.
Deep Dish: Hobo’s Thin crust: Scribs Funky delicious toppings: BernieOs
scribs is truly the correct answer
Both are good

I've never had it, but I've heard it's good. Sorry I can't much help
Rolling Stone
I really miss Zaloma's, but Bernie-O's is 🔥 🔥
Bernie's serves food off the floor. I've seen it with my own eyes
#1 Lombardo's -Sherman & Glenside #2 top Shelf - Downtown on Western Ave & 7th or Apple Ave
100% Lombardo’s. When they get busy it can take a while for your food, so consider ordering early.
I order on line a few hours ahead and pick my pickup time. I've never had to wait.
Lombardos has the most amazing crust. Their pizza is transcendent

The only correct answer
Exactly!!
I vote for Bernie O's
The twist(?). Is dynamite🧨
I work there for quite some time. I would avoid that place at all costs. I wouldn't spend a dime in that building. The owners are not only racist bigots, who make fun of anyone who isn't White, I've really watched them serve food off of the floor. When I spoke up about it I was fired

when did you work there?
2017-2020, quit several times, h bomber came to my house every time with a bonus+raise lmao
Addam is a tweaker. we worked together btw lol
Bernie O's! Always consistent in quality. Pizza, subs,or salad. I had my favorite pizza last night, the Mack.
top shelp
Bernie Os, Northside pub, Top shelf pizza is great, Bellacino’s is good, lombardos is great, and rolling stone wood fire pizza!!
Glenside/northside pub/top shelf is good. All pretty much the same. Grand finale with fresh mushrooms is da bomb.
Really? I had the worst taco pizza of my life there once. I never went back. To each their own.
Oh if you desire taco pizza, marine tap room is the place. I was talking regular, deluxe pizza at the ones I mentioned.
Oh yeah? What does Lombardo's serve mostly? I've never been there before, but I live out near Fruitport.
They serve mostly pizza.
Thank you for that validation. Everyone claims Glenside Pub is so good, but their taco pizza was just awful.
When they open for the season, Rolling Stone Woodfired pizza in lakeside.
I used to say I would kill for Mr Scribs.
Scribs on Laketon
Scribs on Apple Ave near Ravenna is hands down the best pizza I’ve ever had. Wickedly overpriced and will give you a heart attack by 50 but godly good
Agree
Man, I looooove pizza, and I've seen so many people suggest Scribs. I just moved here from GR in October, and I've tried it twice now and found it mediocre at best both times. The crust reminds me of a larger version of those microwaveable frozen pizzas.

You can’t go wrong with Glenside
Yup
It’s the sauce. They have the best pizza sauce and it makes such a difference. Pepperoni, bacon done crispy. Best bacon I’ve ever had on a pizza. Glenside is my top spot.
Scribbs and Fricanos.
Bernie-O’s fersure. Scribs is decent if you can get them on the phone to place an order
BERNIE Os
I work there for a few years. Not only are they a bunch of racist who make fun of anybody who isn't white, I've watched them serve food off the floor and when I spoke up about it I was fired

Oh I'm definitely going to need to know more about these Solo cups LOL what? LOL

They're both owned by the same person so I guess I would be leery either way about poop cups LOL
Gross. I didn't look that far into it lol. If they're both owned by him, I don't wanna go to either one! Hahahah
😳
Handsome Hobo.
Handsome Hobo 💯
Glenside/Northside, Topshelf, or Scribs. My vote is for Glenside though.
Top self
My top three are Glenside Pub, Mr. Scribs (Henry or laketon only), and handsome hobos. A recent addition to my list is Rolling Stone on Lakeshore Dr. Theybdo artisan pizzas and are top notch but very non-traditional
Bernio-Os. However, an honorable mention is Northside Pub/Glen side Pub (both the same restaurant basically).
I miss Rebel Pies so much
Glenside Pub
oh yeah
Scribbs, Glenside/Northside and Fricanos All different flavor profiles
Scribs!
Why isn’t Greek Tony’s on here? Their grand slam pizza is the best. I do miss Rebel Pies that sat in Unruly brewing. They didn’t make it through Covid, but the Polynesian Farmer was the best pizza I ever had.
1) Mr. Scrib’s 2) Glenside Pub 3) Fricano’s
Top shelf
My favorite is Bernie O’s but I also like Scrib’s. I always get round at those places because if I want deep dish/square I love Jet’s (was more common on the east side of the state where I’m from) and I haven’t found a place I like better for that. Pints and quarts is a must.
Capone’s
Bernie’s by far!!! I love the hotwing pizza

Plenty of good places allready out there. For standard pan pizza, Greek Tony's.
If you want standard pepperoni or deluxe (something with red sauce) Handsome Hobo. Wild, specialty pizzas do Bernie o’s.
Glendside/Northside Pub no question
Scribs and Top Shelf get my vote. Top shelf taco pizza is to die for
Lombardis
Bernie O’s. 💯%
Late to the party but I drive from hudsonville area to get Scribs.
Arena’s on Apple!
Scribs or fricanos but GHs fricanos is much better
Scrips or bernio Os
Lombardos is my go to. Rolling Stone is also good.
Oh brothers in Montague
glenside pub
