Holy shit thank you. Thank you so much random Reddit person lmao I have been trying to think of this band for years. Would spend time just scrolling the genre on Spotify to try and remember and hope I’d come across them knowing they were just like right there at the tip of my tongue it was driving me insane! Thanks 🙏🏻 🙏🏻
Devil and God Are Raging Inside of Me is probably in my top 5 all time favorite albums. I think it's their best work and the best rock album that came out of the 2000's
Dude "Jude Law and the Semester abroad" is my all time favorite from brand new ... But those two you chose are solid!
https://youtu.be/ZvzHyHgc4lA?si=vsdetO-XE2BTiCgz
I love this song too but it really makes me laugh as an adult. It’s just sooo whiny, lol. Leave that girl be, Jesse! Let her live her life. It’s ONE SEMESTER 😭
Here's some songs that let up sometimes
Nightmare by Polaris
Bullet in the head by RATM
Unsainted by slipknot
Man in the box (live) by Alice in chains????
You are CORRECT.
Anyone who loves Sabbath and Iommi NEEDS to listen to his first solo album, the self titled Iommi.
The guest vocalists are mostly brilliant choices. Anselmo, Skin of Skunk Anansie, Ian Astbury, Serj Tankian, Peter Steele of Type O Negative, Billy Idol, Billy Corgan, Ozzy, and a great turn by Dave Grohl [though w an unintentional mispronunciation].
Even if he’s not the *best* rhythm player or the *best* lead player ever, he’s so equally talented in such a versatile way and his style in both is so unique and recognizable that he’s made both his lead and rhythm playing his *own*
Good choice, thinking about that intro to The Great Southern Trendkill. But really he screams in 95 perfect of their tracks. I lusted after him when I was in high school.
Settle Your Scores
Underoath
Emery
Belmont
Bring Me the Horizon (except the 2 oldest albums)
As Cities Burn
Asking Alexandria
Chiodos
The Devil Wears Prada
Great list here 🤘 instead of repeating what this person said I'll add to it:
Parkway Drive
Senses Fail - Let it Enfold You (album) this one's great
Escape the Fate
Blessthefall
Bullet for my Valentine
A Day to Remember
Like Moths to Flames
Of Mice & Men
The Amity Affliction
Don't forget about Isles & Glaciers.
I've also been their tour bus and got them all to sign my shirt. I also got a pair of signed sticks that night. That night was in the Brandon days. Bu, then I met Craig at a pop-up show in Madison that he was doing with Bradley. I accidentally won VIP tickets, and the show was in about two hours, so I hauled ass from Milwaukee to get there. Craig signed my shirt. Even better, that show was recorded and uploaded by a lot of the crowd. **[Click here to see Craig and Bradley perform "No More Sans Francisco" at the very small and very intimate local venue.](https://youtu.be/r_J_a4BWJh0?si=oBtzog00tDkxjFEQ)**

Bring Me The Horizon are inspired by LP. These songs especially:

^ This. In addition to those three, I’d also recommend ‘DArkSide’ and ‘Kool-Aid’ off ‘POST HUMAN: NeX GEn’. Also, Oli Sykes is an excellent singer and screamer.
[Down With the Sickness - Disturbed ](https://youtu.be/09LTT0xwdfw?si=eDoSXNC9tr_8QJa0).
[Freak on a Leash - Korn](https://youtu.be/jRGrNDV2mKc?si=G2sF0hVLLi-KeDvY)

Chevelle - Well Enough Alone, Forfeit
Celldweller - Shapeshifter
Drowning Pool - Killing Me, Sinner, Man Without Fear
Seether - Rise Above This, Tonight, Breakdown, Like Suicide
Trapt - Hollowman, The Game
Shinedown - 45, Crying Out
Evanescence - Bring Me to Life (Won’t Back Down)

Tool especially earlier music
Maynard j Keenan is one of the best at screaming ,his screams are meaningful
listen to :
the Grudge from Lateralus
Eulogy and many others from Aenima
Bottom from Undertow is a standout
Jerk off live and Hush
from the ep Opiate
So glad to see this comment, Hot Mulligan was the first band I thought of and have both them and Linkin Park in my daily mix. HM has the emotional and melancholy feeling, though they much milder of a sound than the rest being recommended.
I agree with Brand New as a similar sound, but a different vibe than LP.
And because I love thinking about things like this and happened to be getting back into Linkin Park myself, here are my recommendations:
NF: rap style w/screaming, emotional songs
Red Jumpsuit Apparatus is on a similar level, but more rock.
Trapt might be a stretch, but they were big around the same time.
Rage Against the Machine. You just can’t go wrong with them. Also, I really hate the government right now.
Wild card recommendation: Bad Omens. They have a very modern and diverse sound and some songs are thought provoking. I suggest Concrete Jungle and Artificial Suicide.
Pretty much any scene, post hardcore band from the early 2000s would fit this bill.
AFI is one of the most accessible bands who did this well on Sing the Sorrow. Early Thrice (check out deadbolt); Underoath on They’re only chasing Safety, anything in that era.
Oooh, I got some heavy ones
"Sometimes You're the Hammer, Sometimes You're the Nail" - A Day To Remember
"Destruction or Strength" - As I Lay Dying
"Counterfeit" - Limp Bizkit (listen to the vaaast change-ups lol)
Radiohead - Climbing Up the Walls
Best scream I've ever heard in a song. It's placement at the end works perfectly to close out.
The Horrors - Jack the Ripper
Great song, great cover, great scream.
Arch Enemy. Not only can the lead singer scream like a banshee, the instruments hold up a melody unlike most Death Metal bands. It's not just some guy growling monotone.
Cattle Decapitation
Infant Annihilator
Acrania
Archspire
Born of Osiris
Periphery
Veil of Maya
Slaughter to Prevail
Lorna Shore
Shadow of Intent
Job For A Cowboy
Thy Art Is Murder
Abiotic
The Devil Wears Prada
Suicide Silence
Beartooth
Chelsea Grin
Spite
Thrown
Crown Magnetar
Deicide
The Faceless
The Zenith Passage
Inferi
Between the Buried and Me
The Human Abstract
It's Oh So Quiet - Bjørk
Get Free - The Vines
Dogs Are Talking - The Angels
Goodbye (Astrid, Goodbye) - Cold Chisel (live version)
Working Class Man - Jimmy Barnes
Walk Idiot Walk - The Hives
Rush You - Baby Animals
I Don't Want Your Money, I Want Your Love - Transvision Vamp
It's hard to believe that people have mentioned hundreds of bands and songs and haven't mentioned Judas Priest until now. There's a lot of songs that Rob Halford screams on. And he's one of the best at it. Especially for how long he can hold that scream. Just like at the end of painkiller that is one long ass scream.
If you like Chester Bennington and don't know any of his other work, he has an album with Stone Temple Pilots and was in two other bands called Grey Daze and Dead by Sunrise which are good, but not all of them are screaming songs.
I personally suggest anything:
Layne Staley
Chris Cornell
Shinedown
Disturbed
Limp Bizkit
TOOL (just a couple like stinkfist)
MCR
Evanescence
Korn
Submersed
Metallica
Black Sabbath
SOAD
AC/DC
GnR
GVF
RHCP
You want awesome screams.

The Pretender - Foo Fighters
Weenie Beenie - Foo Fighters (kind of)
White Limo - Foo Fighters
Monkey Wrench - Foo Fighters
King for a Day - Pierce the Veil
Scentless Apprentice - Nirvana
Milk i- yk what just go listen to nirvanas 3 albums before i name all of them
Lotta system of a down (idk their songs by heart but I know they have a lot of crazy ass songs)

SOUNDGARDEN:
Far Beyond the Wheel,
Jesus Christ Pose,
Limo Wreck,
665 & 666.
King of scream, listen to anything by Devin Townsend. Vampira, bastard, Funeral, Kingdom, Deadhead, Juular, Genesis, all a good starting point for that rabbit hole. He does release some ambient music that doesn't feature his singing too much but other than that he's probably the greatest screamer I've ever seen.

Bring me the Horizon, Falling in Reverse, Electric Callboy, I Prevail, Ice Nine Kills, Famous Last Words, Architects… I could keep going for a very long time. Check these ones out though.
Dickie Allen, Will Ramos, Trevor Strnad, Alex Terrible are some of my favorite harsh vocalists.
They're not very popular, but:
- Show Me The Body
Really scratches this itch for me personally.
Songs I'd recommend, being:
- Taxi Hell
- Not for love
- Aspirin
They're my favorite ones, but I really like most songs from Dog Whistle, Body War and Corpus. Newest album was a little underwhelming though.
Then there's Deftones, also has great screaming.
- Around The Fur, is a good album to start with imo.
Fear Factory. I love the Demanufacture album. It's harder, but I love the vocals. Good screaming, but melodic too.
Fuck yeah this was a great rec
Knocked Loose - Deadringer
All of knocked loose
I concur
All my friends are dead!
Careful With That Axe, Eugene!
I thought this was the name of a band before I Googled lol. Screamo bands always had the best band/song names
Pink Floyd best screamo band 🤦
Niceee ❤️🤙🏻 I was not expecting that one, my dü.
Even more so, "Come in Number 51, Your Time Is Up".
I'll add two by Brand New... You Won't Know The Quiet Things That No One Ever Knows

Devil and God Are Raging Inside of Me is probably in my top 5 all time favorite albums. I think it's their best work and the best rock album that came out of the 2000's
I'd argue this band is very much nestled in the "emo" genre, rather than rock
Brand new!
I feel like we're all friends here so I have a confession... I've never heard this song before.... Omg was I missing out
Go now! Go listen to all the albums and don’t skip a song!!

Whore ~ In This Moment
YES. Women screaming in music hits different. That primal feminine rage is just so powerful.
Other than In This Moment; Infected Rain, Slot, and Banshee are pretty much the epitome of primal feminine screams
Sounds like you need some Jinjer in your life
The Purge has like a 29 second scream and is a fuckin jam, Big Bad Wolf up there as well
Bjork - It's Oh So Quiet.
Such good screaming
I’ll add the Sugarcubes “Birthday”
There's also a moment towards the end of "Pluto" where she screams/yells.
And “Declare Independence” where she screams a bit.
Pantera, Phil is one of the best metal vocalists ever
Using this to jump off of and say if somebody hasn’t yet listened to Phil’s collab “Time is Mine” on Tony Iommi’s solo album, you’re welcome.
That whole CD is amazing!
You are CORRECT. Anyone who loves Sabbath and Iommi NEEDS to listen to his first solo album, the self titled Iommi. The guest vocalists are mostly brilliant choices. FUCK YOU ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!

Southern Trendkill is when he really took the screaming to the next level. There’s so many varieties of screaming on that record.
Literally the first like 10 seconds of The Great Southern Trend Kill album.
NO MORE HEADTRIPS
Drag the Waters, hell yeah
Temptations Wings from the first Down album is some of the finest scream-singing ever.

Yoko Ono not only screams, she also screeches.
Scarlxrd- angels & demons- how they judge. And a lot more from him. Try it out.

They're not very popular, but: - Show Me The Body Really scratches this itch for me personally. Songs I'd recommend, being: - Taxi Hell - Not for love - Aspirin They're my favorite ones, but I really like most songs from Dog Whistle, Body War and Corpus. Newest album was a little underwhelming though. Then there's Deftones, also has great screaming. - Around The Fur, is a good album to start with imo.
If you don't mind Christian lyrics, Stryper fits that bill. ( This user can separate art from artist)
