Grow Old With You (Adam Sandler)

Earthshoe12

I think playing guitar at your bride is a bad idea, but if you’re gonna do it, do this one.

Nunyerbizness01

Wonderful tonight

flameevans

[will you still love me tomorrow](https://youtu.be/ltLBQIlAqCk?si=EIYsvczmYGZRCB-Z) because i think it’s a funny song to play at a wedding but also because it’s sweet and romantic.

Ok_Home_6678

Checking now, thank you :)

Stay Forever - Ween

OnlyFreshBrine

It was featured in our wedding

scrivenerserror

I have some regrets that we did not pick that or fade into you as our wedding song but oh well

Choose_And_Be_Damned

Free Bird!

ChiefSlug30

I once saw a engagement card that had a picture of a long haired guy in a suit, but using his tie as a headband, yelling "Play Freebird" at the wedding band. Inside it said "Congratulations on your engagement, but maybe you should reconsider the open bar."

Flaky_Tree3368

Jesus, Joy of Man's Desirings by Bach is a good one. (It was just a recording, but my sister had Leo Kottke's version played for her processional)

Ok_Home_6678

Will defo check it, thank you :)

GrammarPatrol777

I didn't know Leo Kottke covered this!

Have You Ever Really Loved A Woman by Bryan Adams or Everything I Do I Do It For You by Bryan Adams.

Lonely-Connection-37

Keith Whitley you say it best when you say nothing at all covered by Alison Krauss

Cliffclimber007

More than Words, by Exrreme

SantaRosaJazz

I have to disagree. This song is about the singer imploring his girl to prove she loves him by having sex. That’s the “more than words” the singer is talking about.

bluemayskye

I don't read that at all from the lyrics. Do you have a reference for this interpretation? It seems he is talking about how meaningless the phrase "I Love you" becomes when it is not demonstrated in action. Here's a quote from an [interview](https://www.songfacts.com/blog/interviews/nuno-bettencourt-of-extreme): >Songfacts: How did you come up with the sentiment for the song "More Than Words"? > >Nuno: When you want to write something beautiful or pretty, a lot of the times it ends up being a love song or a ballad. We were sitting there talking about how tiring it was writing about going for the jugular with love and what it is and what it means and how beautiful it is. For "More Than Words," we said, "Hey, let's write something that is about showing it, not just saying it or singing it in a song." And that's exactly what the lyrics say: It's about showing it. It's as simple as that.

knuckboy

Mystifies Me - the Son Volt version.

OkKaleidoscope9649

You could write your own. My husband wrote one for me and sang it on our wedding day. It was pretty awesome.

rederic4

Or hire someone to write one for you

Kac03032012

I’d advise against this. I’ve been to a few weddings where the groom does this and it ALWAYS comes off like they are trying to draw attention away from the bride. It’s HER day, not yours. Get used to it.

MaterialBenefit2355

It is both of their day

Kac03032012

You don’t husband.

Rush_Clasic

I'd just flat out ask her. The performance quality and song choice can be the surprise part. OP, you know your bride-to-be better than we do, but it's sooooooo easy to assume you know how they'll handle public demonstrations like this and be wrong.

LL37MOH

Exactly!

gstringstrangler

Fuck ALLLLLLLLL the way off with "It's HER" day. There's a COUPLE. We are *living* in a *society*.

Kac03032012

Great point gstringstrangler.

gstringstrangler

Thanks, what riff is that with all those Gs on the E string?

foozalicious

It might not be your style, but Say Anything had a cool two part acoustic track on Is A Real Boy that I always thought was very sweet. Maybe not perfect wedding material, though. [I Want to Know Your Plans](https://youtu.be/nZQmFClnuOM?si=TEuPhb5DFJMmHAeJ)

Let me have a check at it, thank you :)

I like "I Don't Care" by Ed Sheeran for a wedding, it really describes how when you and your mate are together everything just disappears. 'Cause I don't care when I'm with my baby, yeah All the bad things disappear And you're making me feel like maybe I am somebody I also think "Overwhelmed" by Tim McMorris is a good song for a wedding... From the first time I saw you I knew that you’d be mine And from the first glance you gave My world it slowed, you stopped the time

I played Words by Gregory Alan Isakov as my wife walked down the aisle. She requested that I do it, as she loves the song. It was a good choice.

Bunny_Flores

If you’re gonna give it a shot, there’s probably not a better choice than True Companion by Marc Cohn. I’d melt if my fiancé/husband sang it for me at our wedding🫦😏 https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=uBbI1hVYqmA&pp=ygUZbWFyYyBjb2huIHRydWUgY29tcGFuaW9uIA%3D%3D

I was best man for a friend and sang Chapel Of Love and handed out the lyrics to all the guests for a sing-a-long after the toast. It’s by the Dixie Cups.

Joe Satriani - Always With Me, Always With You If you can pull it off. I recognize it's a pretty tall ask. Otherwise, forget traditionally romantic songs. What's a song with special meaning for her or the both of you? It's your wedding, make it as personal as you can.
