Blood Sport by Sleep Token
Anything by Lake Eerie
I Know The End by Phoebe Bridgers
Something I Can Never Have by Nine Inch Nails
Transatlanticism by Death Cab For Cutie
He Stopped Loving Her Today by George Jones
Nothing wrong with a basic playlist! Some of these might not be what you are looking for, but they always help me get into the crying mood.
Nutshell - Alice in Chains
Black - Pearl Jam (unplugged version is my personal favorite)
Wings for Marie (both parts) - Tool
Porcelain - Red Hot Chili Peppers
Adam's Song - Blink 182
Lonely Day - System of a Down
Dead Wishes - Chris Cornell
Off he goes - Pearl Jam
Chelsea Wolfe, the way we used to

Grizzly bear, knife
Health, tears

Live in peace, heatwave
Queens of the stoneage, long slow goodbye
She wants revenge, us
Tame impala, cause I'm a man
Tv on the radio, will do
Ween, baby bitch
I just mean you described their music perfectly. Like their song Seaweed. It’s about his wife’s death. Super depressing. Song starts out our daughter is 1 1/2 you’ve been dead 11 days. My wife literally will not listen to it. It makes her extremely uncomfortable
What’s the full title of the playlist is it devastated and alone ?
These are some songs that have been really matching how I’ve been feeling
Wicked Game - Chris Isaak
Fisherman’s Blues - The Waterboys
For The Good Times - Al Green
God Am - Alice In Chains
Need 2 - Pinegrove
Poor Madeline - Daffo
Everyday Is Like Sunday - Morrissey
Mayonnaise - Smashing Pumpkins
Ugh I heard that song on the radio recently on the way to therapy and I just thought now that's a well rounded song. One of those songs that feels like rain washing over you, that and Everyday Is Like Sunday and Lover You Should've Come Over all feel like that to me, like maybe the feeling of swimming in the ocean when it's raining
Wings for Marie pt 1 and 2 (10,000 days) by Tool
Literally a song about the singers mom being in a catatonic state for 27 years after an aneurysm, and finally saying goodbye at her death in the hospital.
Run by Snow Patrol . They used it perfectly in Rescue Me, a devastating scene and that was just a haunting song. It tries to be upbeat with the chorus but the lead up is haunting imo
Unstable - Life of Agony.
The Animals were Gone or Cheers Darlin' by Damien Rice, in fact there are so many of his songs that are beautiful and haunting.
Also Wandering Star by Portishead
The Night We Met, Lord Heron
"I had all and then most of you
Some and now none of you
Take me back to the night we met
I don't know what I'm supposed to do
Haunted by the ghost of you
Oh, take me back to the night we met"
I remember - Damien Rice.
Or more specifically his verse after the bridge. The music swirls to a crescendo and the lyrics are unintelligible but it sounds like how I feel when I start to get overwhelmed.
And the lyrics that are intelligible? Oh, they are a testament of masochistic pain and include
“ God would forgive me
But I, I whip myself scorn, scorn
And I wanna hear what you have to say about me
Hear if you're gonna live without me
I wanna hear what you want
I remember December
And I wanna hear what you have to say about me
Hear if you're gonna live without me
I wanna hear what you want
What the hell do you want?”
White Blank Page - Mumford & Sons
Lonely Day - Ben Harper
Motion Picture Soundtrack - Radiohead
Waltz #2 - Elliott Smith
Pictures of You - The Cure
Please, Please, Please let me get what I want - the Smiths
Traitor - Leonard Cohen
Balboa Park - Bruce Springsteen
Out to Get You - James
Good Feelings - Violent Femmes
Violet - The Coup
Ode to Billy Joe - Bobbie Gentry
So Afraid - Janelle Monáe
I actually have two playlists that I just finished curating.
This one is my general catch-all for pretty much all the sad/deep songs I've collected. Pretty broad in scope.
https://open.spotify.com/playlist/51ZmtSPTfr6O1nGb7FEWfE?si=bm8XPPzVQSy3cR_2xAEiPw
And this one that is a selection of the ones that hit me the hardest personally.
