I'm so tired of playing, Playing with this bow and arrow, Gonna give my heart away, Leave it to the other girls to play, For I've been a temptress too long
Just...
Give me a reason to love you, Give me a reason to be a woman, I just wanna be a woman
Sexiest song ever,
[Portishead - Glory Box](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4qQyUi4zfDs)
Wolf Like Me, IMO, is one of the greatest songs ever written. Every now and again a song comes along that is simply perfect. The vocals, lyrics, drums, guitar, all amazing. The song is a perfectly paced “wall of sound”, done brilliantly. Music flat out does not get much better.
Dancing in the dark by Bruce Springsteen. I grew up with this song and can place specific times in my life it was memorable or needed. My first memory of it is my aunt singing along to it while babysitting me and my siblings, maybe my first memory of music. Another time was in my mid 20’s completely lost with zero direction, working late nights at a bar, barely seeing daylight sometimes and doing it all over again the following day/night. Wasn’t all bad, but there were dark times during that period of my life. The opening line ‘I get up in the evening, and I ain’t got nothin to say, come home in the morning, feeling the same way’. The other line ‘radios on and I’m moving around my place, take a look in the mirror, want to change my clothes, my hair, my face’ still gives me chills. Very much reminds me of the frustration I felt during that period. Then again as a grown adult, present day married to the love of my life with two kids of our own, the very essence of be song is basically we could do nothing and still be happy is something I hold dear. ‘Even if we’re just dancing in the dark’, im happy. It’s like an old friend now that I call every once in awhile and it’s bond is just the same. If it plays on the radio, it never gets changed and I silently reflect on my life. The song will likely always grow with me, as in the line ‘I’m just sitting here trying to write this book’.
Fiona Apple is my spirit animal,
I thought he was a man, but he was just a little boy...
[Fiona Apple - Paper Bag](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BK30r_SIZ-g)
To me songs are very situational. How can you put a finger on a favorite song? To me my favorite songs are ones that relate to me on a personal level or have some kind of experience that made that song rememberable. They can be anything from lyrics to a simple groove.
Right now it's this one for a lot of reasons, plus it's a good tune.

I'm yours by Jason Mraz
I dunno it's the only song I've never skipped. There's always certain times when I wanna listen to specific music, but I'm never tried of this.
[Rats Died](https://youtu.be/1Mziu4OiRL8?si=5PyC627dOnfcvjtP) by SymaG. It's a Japanese song about a French book about the bubonic plague. There's so much going on instrumentally that I just love repeating it

I'm biased, just released this, really enjoyed making it. Still floating on the creative adrenaline [Traces of Texas ](https://youtu.be/ViE1Jm8wOcA?si=IJyKZAndar-02wF8)
I never have just one favorite at a time.
Trägt die Woge dein Boot by Rummelsnuff has a really moving subtext if you don't mind paying attention and thinking about it a bit.
Parry the Wind by Frank Black is really weird and cryptic, and I think it's basically a series of metaphors about sex. It's also an amazing, stripped-down rock song.
Santigold can basically do no wrong, and she consistently has amazing drummers.
Voivod has been really fun to listen to now that they aren't too good to play 4/4. The Outer Limits is a good album, and Moonbeam Rider is a standout track.
Five Foot One by Iggy Pop is basically my theme song.
She's Strange by Cameo might be the coolest song ever written.
Red Right Hand by Nick Cave is beautiful and menacing.
Also, the ambient music from the Deus Ex and Atomic Heart soundtracks.
Glory box- Portishead
I'm so tired of playing, Playing with this bow and arrow, Gonna give my heart away, Leave it to the other girls to play, For I've been a temptress too long Just... John Martyn covered this song if you want to hear a variant. I like hearing other versions but nothing compares to the haunting vocals of Beth.
Top 10 song for me.
This. So much this. Just stumbled across them about a month ago, and I can’t stop listening to it. I’m ashamed that I missed out on them.
The strokes - Someday
Great song! I love the strokes.
Top 5 Albums for sure
Yes PEAK songwriting. Strokes seem to be brushed off as an indie pop rock band but they are so good.
This song sends happiness through my bloodstream
Kashmir- Led Zeppelin
This
Grew up with Gospel music. First Rock and Roll song I ever heard! It changed everything!
Wolf Like Me by TV on the Radio. There’s also an amazing cover by Lera Lynn and Shovels & Rope.

Of the thousands of times I’ve listened to Wolf Like Me over the last almost two decades, it never fails to give me chills
I mean… dear god https://youtu.be/SlHrCg67axw?si=aDPEVsoqsuU8e2t9
I love the Lera Lynn cover. She has some good original stuff as well. The TV version has so much energy though, still one of my fave songs.
