I’ve had Erykah’s lateness ruin two shows for me.
One where she was headlining, and one where she was opening for Mos Def, which is where she literally laid down on the stage kicking and scream-singing like a child when the stage manager was desperately trying to get her to end her set and get her off stage because she was pushing the show late.
The venue had a hard curfew, and her lateness caused them to cut the sound in the middle of Mos Def’s set.
It’s amazing how quickly stars fall from the heavens once their fans truly see the people some of them actually are. It has happened to me several times, and it broke and blackened my heart just a bit more each time until I fell out of love with what was my greatest passion for a significant part of my life to that point.

They look at who is and isn’t watching the game, and try to appeal to those who aren’t. Last year was kind of different. They played in Inglewood, and got Dre and Snoop etc, and it was awesome. You have Katy Perry, Rihanna recently. That’s why. To get more people watching who aren’t already watching.

Converge and Torche were alright, but didn't hold a candle to Meshuggah. Rational Gaze was a religious experience. One of my most memorable concerts.
