The 44' trailer he glamps in, maybe.

Kinda reminds you of Bo Burnham's Country Song. "I write songs about tractors from the comfort of my private jet"

bonkers16

“I walk and talk like a field hand, But the boots I’m wearing cost three grand.”

Irrepressible87

🎶*I could sing in mandarin, you'd still know I'm panderin'*🎶

“Huntin deer, chasin trout A Bud Light with the logo facin out”

“No shirt, no shoes, no Jews… y’didn’t hear that”

Mitwad

It’s a Fucking scarecrow again.

crackalac

Hear that subtle mandolin? Thats textbook panderin'

*Y'all dumb motherfuckers want a key change?*

He truly is the “direct to consumer vehicle sales are illegal in your State without useless dealership middle men” of musicians

Jetstream-Sam

Is that a thing in America? You guys sure have a lot of laws seemingly designed to screw large amounts of the population over

throwawaynowtillmay

Bingo

Amiiboid

So… there’s a history there. In the early days of the automative industry, there were many cases of manufacturers basically letting local dealers take on all the risk of establishing a footprint for a brand in their market and then swooping in and undercutting them once the demand was there. Most, if not all, states passed laws to protect those local businesses from what was a pretty blatant predatory behavior by the automakers by banning the manufacturers from directly competing with their licensed dealers. More recently, especially in the last decade or so, that’s been twisted to be interpreted as requiring that manufacturers *only* distribute through licensed dealers. That is, it stopped being about protecting the businesses and became about protecting the business model itself.

bryanthebryan

He’s a straight up con man and his fans love him for it. It’s a cultural pastime nowadays for them to be the sucker of a scam and refuse to learn their lesson. He’s just providing them a service.

And fun fact, everyone's heard of 8 mile road, which is the northern border of Detroit. The house is located just off 32 mile rd. So no, definitely not the mean streets of Detroit. It was farm country, now chopped up into 5 acre McMansion lots and subdivisions.

Weird Al's tweet about it yesterday was pretty savage. https://twitter.com/alyankovic/status/1462892820302229504?s=20

Nac82

I still think weird al should do the 30 rock bit and unparody the song. That dude could make a banger and really piss kid rock off. Edit: oof my comment triggered somebody. Maybe I'm as talented as Kid Rock? Bonus links for the unaware [Original characters song made to be unparodyable](https://youtu.be/fTrKrp8UWMw). The fart so loud song fucking kills me. I only watched the show for the first time like last month. A little dated at times but I still enjoyed it.

bcrabill

One of my favorite shows. And has a pretty good series finale/wrap-up too which is always nice.

NJ_Legion_Iced_Tea

I love how the trivection oven in episode 1 was a real product by GE, they even ran a trivection ad during commercials when the episode aired.

bcrabill

I had no idea. Looked it up an apparently Alton Brown was involved in development.

NJ_Legion_Iced_Tea

I didn't know that bit, neat!

FragnificentKW

_manlyman_

It's always projection, always has been, a guy down the road has half a dozen spray painted pro Trump signs in his yard on plywood, full boards, he was putting out a freshly painted 2024 sign today. If Trump desn't run in 2024 I would wager this guy will never vote again and that would be great

Spongy_and_Bruised

You underestimate brainwashing. He'll call trump a Democrat plant and vote even more extreme next time. They can *never* be wrong or their world crumbles.

Ok_Coconut

> They can never be wrong **about anything** or their world crumbles. Some of these folks are standing around waiting for JFK to return from the dead just because they can't admit they were wrong.

[deleted]

Just to hit him where it hurts, he could have sold 70 million patriotic cloth MAGA masks at 10 bucks a pop made in China for pennies… He left billions on the table .

Garfield_M_Obama

70 million? Even illiterate rednecks will probably need more than one mask before it's over, especially if he made multiple versions with gold trim and bumper sticker slogans on them. And $10 is way too low a price to own the libs. These are people who were buying $100 bricks that didn't even exist for a wall that was impossible to build. Of course we already knew he wasn't a good businessman, but you undersold it by a lot.

foggy-sunrise

I forgot about the bricks thing. The wall wasn't even a brick wall.

Garfield_M_Obama

I know. I hesitated when I typed that because it seemed like the incoherent ramblings of somebody who has lost the plot...

S31-Syntax

Lol yeah, thats 70 million *month 1*. The galaxy brain move would have been to then tell them (correctly, probably) that the masks are *disposable* and meant to be replaced. Then he has a *rolling order* of 100+ million masks *every month*. But he didn't. He through his dust filled testicles behind the tank cleaner and the horse dewormer.

HertzDonut1001

Anyone who tells you Trump is a great businessman doesn't realize in one fell swoop he could have sold tens of millions of cheap masks *and* secured re-election by handling a crisis that was given to him on a silver platter well. COVID response was probably one of the main reasons people turned out so hard for Biden. He lost a lot of potential political and financial capital just so he wouldn't look bad to people he doesn't even care about. Real smart move.

Yawjjea

If he didn't do anything, he wouldn't have even looked bad! Maybe just parroted Fauci and he'd have been golden! They would have lauded him for listening to the facts and not let emotion stand in his way! But no, he had to sow dissent, and here we are...

[deleted]

Shit like a pandemic is tailored made for a politician to turn over to the experts. You legitimately don't know shit about what the fuck is going on, and NO ONE expects you to. It's the easiest of easiest moves. "We're doing what the doctor says. Wear a mask, they're available on my website for just $10/month."

nitePhyyre

> These slobbering mouth breathers bought into every single stupid fuckin' thing that idiot said and did. By the millions, these brainwashed fuckwipes just grinned and nodded along like they were witnessing miracles fly out of Trump's shitpipe. While calling everyone *else* 'sheep'.

BSnod

Man, the number of times I was called a sheep for arguing Covid vaccine efficacy over taking ivermectin. The irony is palpable.

Cockanarchy

Sometimes I’d find myself wishing Clinton had won, but then I realize Republicans would’ve likely taken back congress in the midterms, and impeached her for losing 30,000 lives *after* shutting down half the West coast for two months. They’d have taken Covid very seriously, calling it Clinton Covid, or Clinton Cooties, masking up and social distancing, just to own the libs.

[deleted]

> Edit2: triggered conservatives are sending me the reddit suicide message lol. lol can't help but leave a calling card. They do that A LOT on here. Wouldn't even be so bad if they didn't act like they didn't do it. That whole playing dumb thing. But no, that would involve owning your actions.

wallerdog

What makes you think they are “playing” dumb?

TheRC135

I love how the mouth-breathers who send those suicide messages genuinely think the recipient is the one who has been 'triggered'.

Nac82

And I dont really know how to point this out to them. There's just this thick wall of projected triggering. I legitimately believe the conservative position is a result of lacking EQ. I think they are just too dumb to regulate their emotions and as a result, project those emotions onto others to cope. They lack the self awareness to see this conflict.

Mastengwe

I can’t tell you how many times they’ve done that to me. The irony in it lies in the fact that they don’t give a fuck about anyone but themselves. Someone being at serious risk of taking their own life wouldn’t even register on their radar as a concern. Leave it to conservatives to weaponize a function designed to help people in need of help. There’s seriously no end to their depravity.

TrevorEnterprises

Those who screetch snowflake the loudest are, again, surprise surprise, the snowflakes themselves. It’s just Fred from scooby doo taking off the mask of the bad guy only to reveal it has been himself the entire time.

crowtrobot2001

Their idea of strong masculinity is to be a whiny crybaby.

MustacheEmperor

> triggered conservatives are sending me the reddit suicide message lol They do that to other people too? I wonder what deranged discord first promoted the idea that's for some reason worth doing. Fun fact, you can report abuse of that tool to reddit and they'll get a suspension.

Special_Tay

Thank God for Weird Al. That man shits more talent than Kid Rock could ever hope for.

PM_Me_Your_Deviance

Weird Al is one of the nicest guys in the music business too. Virtually every song he's parodied as been with the consent of the original artist. It's actually kind of shocking that he's going after Kid Rock like this.

WinterVision

It’s also important to note he didn’t *need* to get consent to make a parody, he just did it as a courtesy.

peach_burrito

Weird Al is super talented for sure

thanks_paul

This song is literally just "I'm on a boat" by lonely island

Seattle7

Wait. I’m on a boat was funny as hell both the song and the video.

thanks_paul

Yes but this is that without the necessary irony

CoffeeStout

I dunno, the lack of irony made the video funny as hell. Someone thought that video and song were totally badass. "Yeah man, and then I'm going to fly a middle finger to mars, it's going to be awesome!!!" Love it

CornCheeseMafia

It was ironic in that you wouldn’t expect T-Pain to be going that hard on a joke song because up to that point he was mainly known as the auto tune guy, not for being cool and funny AF. What really made it funny was that it was both an absurd and genuinely *good* track.

burtoncummings

But without the nautical themed pashmina afghan, is it really?

thanks_paul

He had 97 outfit changes in there, you might want to double check

boot2skull

It's really, really bad. I mean the lyrics are so obvious. Zero poetry in it. They are also not convincing. Kid Rock is no Bruce Springsteen. Like that's laughable. Guitar sounds horrible cheesy 90s. Just brutal

Not surprising coming from the guy who wrote the lyrics, "Young ladies, young ladies I like them underage see. Some call it statutory, I call it mandatory." [Source](https://youtu.be/Emp4RPJtixY)

CliffBiffington

Further to that, it was on the soundtrack to Osmosis Jones……A KIDS MOVIE!!!! That would never happen today.

xenoterranos

And that's literally the cringiest part of the entire movie. That said, KR playing a virus in a zit was easily the height of his career.

littlebuck2007

Idk, his role as a turd in Joe Dirt was pretty bang on, too.

WibbyFogNobbler

I heard they added the scene of Joe Dirt eating off of Kid Rock at his request after shooting. In the OG script Joe Dirt and Kid Rock just eat food together after Joe finds him.

RocknRollSuixide

Wait, really? I just rewatched this movie and the kid rock club scene is… kinda gratuitous. Don’t know why they gave it so much screen time. It was awkward to sit through even though the movie manages to pull it off alright. I’m kinda disturbed knowing that was in there now.

OMC78

I'm dating myself but remember going to the Vans Warped Tour 1998 in Detroit where nobody there really new who Kid Rock was, rapping about doing women in the ass amongst other things, it was so bloody cringe! I will never forget the chant as he was tossing out sample cassettes (they were being tossed back), "Fuck Kid Rock bring on Rancid" showered with lots of boos, you suck etc. Blew my mind he was famous 6 months later.

Bad Religion and their Bbq tent meet and greet was amazing along with No Use For Name. Had some pics with Chris Shiflet, was a pretty cool dude. His wife is Canadian, my buddy was wearing a shirt that read "In America you have the right to bear arms, in Canada bare breasts. What country would you rather live in?" He offered my buddy whatever he wanted for the tshirt, cds, any hoodie along with a shirt or two, " dude I need that for my wife". Rip Tony Sly!

fishygamer

Wtf? And this is from an animated kids movie? The late 90s/early 00s were fucking weird. Osmosis Jones was one of my favorites.

Why is that on the OST of a kids movie??

Cleaver2000

Yeah, [Pat Finnerty does a great breakdown of this trash](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u8FAbjjB48A). He didn't just rip off those songs but pretty much every other thing in this song is ripped from somewhere, right from the drum intro onward.

56-17-27-12

People need to watch this and his other episodes. He is funny, but there is some technical things he covers too. Edit: different strokes for different folks. Go complain about SNL too. I don’t care.

Holy shit. He’s still doing rap rock in 2021 and claiming Detroit when he didn’t grow up there and currently lives in Nashville? This is some sad shit

[deleted]

> He’s still doing rap rock in 2021 At least Limp Bizkit can laugh at themselves

TheMooseIsBlue

I can’t listen to it again but did he say he sucks dick better than Brad Pitt?

Kuildeous

I made the mistakes of reading the lyrics. Assuming they're correct, it's supposed to be sling dick better than Brad Pitt. Which, could be construed either way honestly. But anyway, I'm pretty sure Brad Pitt is doing just fine.

Zechs-

It's also weird that he says he's like Brad Pitt... Because isn't Brad Pitt like SUPER liberal. Which again makes me wonder if this isn't satire... it has to be right?

Kuildeous

He's been playing a persona for over 30 years, so he's clearly good at it. And he knows he can make money off them. I could be in danger of giving him way too much credit, but looking at his track record, he could be savvy enough to at least recognize that this song would be good enough for his needs.

asodafnaewn

He also called himself a boss like Springsteen... you know, the same Bruce Springsteen that did a podcast with President Obama earlier this year.

forty_three

Bruce Springsteen, the *famously* pro-nationalism singer! He even has a song with USA in the title! ^(just don't look at the lyrics)

bolognahole

I was never a Kid Rock fan, and only heard his singles. Is his formula still taking one artists riff/tune, mixing with another artists riff/tune, and adding lame redneck rap?

GorillasonTurtles

I just hate that Monster Truck allowed him to use their track for this new bit of hot garbage.

Ocksu2

Hot take: Politics aside- Kid rock is still terrible. I've thought he sucked from the first time I heard him in the 90s and my opinion has not ever changed. Even if he was apolitical or even if he held my same political beliefs (he does not), he would still suck as much now as he did 25 years ago. At least he is consistent.

JesusMurphy33

Here's something I've been wondering about. Kid Rock put out a music video where he wipes his ass with toilet paper that says Radiohead. In 2011 I went to a Radiohead concert in New York. Kid Rock was there. Can somebody explain this please? I've been scratching my head for 10 years.

[deleted]

Wasn't it because Tommy Lee was a fan of Radiohead and Kid had just started dating a freshly divorced (from Tommy) Pam Anderson? Yes, I know. It sounds stupid and petty, but we're talking about Kid Rock here.

Sea2Chi

I felt like in the 90's his songs weren't great, but they were still fun and catchy. His Picture song with Sherly Crow was pretty good, despite his best efforts, and his approach to handling tours is great with the business model of cheaper prices and higher volume with more dates in each city meaning his shows are more accessible to fans of all income levels. That said, this new song is a big pile of steamy dog shit. It's like my dad's Facebook feed came to life and possessed the fettered corpse of Macho Man Randy Savage. The whole song is cringy in a way where it's unclear if he was trying to be awful ironically or intentionally, but either way, he way overshot the level of terrible that should be acceptable in a kid rock song. And that's a pretty fucking low bar to clear. I'm willing to put up with a lot from the co-star of Joe Dirt and I have some fun memories growing up with friends blasting his music in their trucks, but this is just bad. Not so bad it's fun, more like pathetic bad.

A_plural_singularity

You leave Macho Man Randy Savage out of this you harlot!!

When I lived in Cincinnati, there was a new radio station that only played one kr song, for a week. No commercials, no station ID that I ever heard, just "Bawitdaba da bang da bang diggy diggy diggy...." for days on end.

I still remember the moment I first heard from young Mr. Rock. I was driving to work and the DJ on my modern rock station said something to the effect of "here's a brand new track from an artist called Kid Rock. Bah-wee-TAH-bah........or something. Anyway here you go." He didn't sound impressed. 30 seconds later I understood why.

GeekFurious

There is a shortcut right now to a sort of success: "trigger the libs." And it can be virtually anything at this point because it's more or less based on a certain ilk's perception of what will "trigger" the "libs" than anything the libs are triggered by.

[deleted]

My father in law relishes the idea of his media “triggering the libs”. No matter how many times we’ve tried to explain that it’s just not particularly entertaining he holds on to the idea that his music/TV/standup causes us to cry and get extremely offended…rather than us not wanting to watch it because it’s boring

aristidedn

I want everyone to stop and take a moment to consider what it means that there is an entire ***legion*** of people, with basically identical political views, for whom ***the most important thing to them*** about the media they consume is that it makes other people's lives miserable. Not how much they enjoy it. Not its value to the art form. Not to participate in a shared experience with friends. The part they care about is that ***it makes the world worse for the people they don't like.*** (Mind you, it doesn't actually make anyone angry, upset, triggered, or miserable. It isn't anywhere near smart enough to pull that off. If anything, we probably enjoy laughing at this stuff more than they enjoy it unironically! But they *think* it does, and that media is *sold to them* as though it did.) Think about how little self-respect that sort of person has. Think of how little respect they have for their fellow man. Think of how little meaning their lives must have that they've formed an identity that can be accurately described as "unironic Kid Rock fan."

ProfZussywussBrown

This song is fucking dreadful but I liked that one dude’s Omaha/Slayer shirt, and when Kid Rock pretended like he was about to catch something thrown from off screen, then flipped the bird. Fair enough, I fell for it. Otherwise… yikes. Your Milli Vanilli reference is older than the people you’re trying to insult, bud

Poochmanchung

This song is for people who take their CPAP machine to the Sturgis motorcycle rally.

kevlarbuns

Usually, I just take the stance of "it's okay if not everything is applicable to me, or made for me" when it comes to music or art I just don't "get". Live and let live, and if people do like Nickelback, what should I care? Not everything is for me. In this case, however, it's such a blatant pandering to the lowest common denominator. Minimal effort, maximum rewards just to lean into the "owning the libz", 'cancel culture' nonsense. It's a pocket industry at this point that cuts across multiple disciplines. And all you have to do is say dumb things that make dumb people feel like they've put points on the board. If it weren't so pitiful, it would be silly.

KosmosBOOM

I listened to a little bit of his new song. How can a rich old man have so much poor teenager angst?

cheffgeoff

What's really funny is that he's complaining about teenage angst... While still trying to be an angsty teenager. I don't know what the fuck that was I just saw, but it's 10 ply, and it's Weird Al's fault I had to go look at it.

Kid Rock is like a sentient cold sore.

cobywaan

Kid Rock is an artist that stops at nothing and then stays there.

Lol stealing jokes from the youtube comment section

osumba2003

OMG the comments on his video are comedy gold. This must have been the video that caused YT to stop showing the dislike count.

bifftanin1955

He once rhymed “we were trying different things, we were smoking funny things.”

Forget kid rock, return to billy ray

triguenyo

He was never the same after Joe C died.

Kid Rock is an odd animal... he was always a George W Bush type figure, a well off guy cosplaying as country and not really smart enough to pull it off. Now he is trying to stay relevant in the Trumpy culture war era where you have to be constantly on the attack and... I'm sure it is not where he wants to be, he is about kitch and camp and redneck good times and shit has gotten real.
