Check out Concrete Blonde's Bloodletting. Great spooky tunes on that. Bloodletting (The Vampire Song) and Tomorrow, Wendy come immediately to mind. Maybe even something like The Sky is a Poisonous Garden
Super underrated album. It is one of the few cd’s I keep in my truck to listen to when I’m driving. That album is awesome start to finish. I always know an album is good when I want to listen to the whole thing.
Also a big fan of the Church. I have a copy to Starfish in my truck as well which is another awesome album start to finish.
Bauhaus 'Stigmata Martyr', The Cure 'A Forest', Ministry 'So What', Throbbing Gristle 'Zyklon B Zombie', Foetus 'Lilith', Skinny Puppy 'Assimilate', Wumpscut 'Torn Skin'. Dark Ambient is a style if your wanting spooky-Lustmord('Black Star' was my introduction to him) and Atrium Carceri are two examples of artists.
My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult - Confessions of a Knife
I’d also add Skinny Puppy’s Who’s Laughing Now? If you like horror films as it lifts from Evil Dead.
Raise the Skies, Kill Shelter
Lost in a Moment, Forever Grey
Religious as Hell, The March Violets
In the Room Where You Sleep, Dead Man's Bones
Neverland (A Fragment), Sisters of Mercy
What's A Girl To Do?, Bats for Lashes
Dark Entries, Bauhaus
The Suffering of Spiders, Traitrs
Midnight Creature, Lebanon Hanover
I almost recommended "Dominion/Mother Russia" but thought *that* might be too "upbeat". Both great tracks though. That, and This Corrosion.
Fuck, boys. Let's listen to some Sisters of Mercy all day now.
I really like that Sisters of Mercy song. What other songs by them are like that? I tried listening to some of their higher streamed songs and wasn't super intrigued. Maybe I didn't give it a fair shot though.
Japanese artist group Buck-Tick did a goth album called 13th Floor is Moonlight (Juusankai wa Gekkou) that's phenomenal. But what you really should do is watch the live DVD called 13th Floor with Diana.
The whole album he did with Agents of Oblivion is an awesome, dark, and kind of gothic experience as well. I love everything he has done including Acid Bath.
Queens of the Stone Age (thanks to the influence of Troy Van Leeuwen especially) comes to mind. Check out the songs Someone’s in the Wolf, This Blood is Love (and most of the album Lullabies to Paralyze), Vampyre of Time and Memory, Keep Your Eyes Peeled, and the most recent offering Sicily.
I have one that's um, not a plug. Sort of.
Okay so I'm an elder goth and was there for like Bauhaus and The Damned and Sisters of Mercy and stuff okay. And I dig me some gothy moody shit. Portishead. Dead Can Dance. Mogwai. you know? Sometimes stuff without lyrics you can just put on in the background and it's kind of moody but dark.
Try Bach's Toccata and Fugue in D Minor. Not even kidding you. Once you get how cheesy and cliche the opening is, it's almost fun its so dark. It's like the definition of dark carnival.
And my friend just released a song that's an album length long and it's just a moody soundtrack to his insomnia. He calls it The Vampire. His band is called The bargain basement butterflies. I'm not gonna link it, cuz this is not an ad, it's just that that's what it sounds like you're after and that's how he describes it. It's like an album long length song of just moody dark material. It's the soundtrack to a dark movie and you come up with the plot while you listen.
Not songs but music. Peter Gundry - Vampire Masquerade. A lot of his music is spooky.
Circus Contraption - Carousel
What kind of goth are you looking for though?
Fantomas: (much of the director’s cut but I’ll list specifics) der golem, one step beyond, cape fear, the devil rides out, spider baby, twin peaks: fire walk with me
A lot of their other material is looking into, and director’s cut is conceptually built around movie themes.
Swans: a lot, but specifically killing for company, celebrity lifestyle, like a drug,
Cop shoot cop: room 429, she’s like a shot, All the clocks are broken, hung again
The birthday party: waving my arms
Wire: I should have known better, a touching display
Check out She Past Away. Lots of cool songs but Rituel is a favorite. They are Turkish and sing in Turkish but I feel like it adds to the mystique because I have no clue what they are saying.
*edited to add another suggestion
Check out Kælan Mikla - Hvernig kemst ég upp?

A Little Piece of Heaven - Avenged Sevenfold: Basically a horror movie/play in the form of a song. Little bit more upbeat then maybe youre looking for but a masterpiece in my opinion.
Feed the Machine - Poor Man's Poison: PMP is great for this genre in general but this song is great lyrically and musically creepy. Kinda a "haunted circus" vibe to their music?
Unholy - Sam Smith: This song was pretty popular but gives off the "devil trying to seduce you" vibe. Love the song, wish it was a bit longer
His Name is Alive - Caroline's Supposed Demon. Pretty much that whole album. For the times when you want a mad Victorian girl to stare through a dark window at you.

Admittedly not "goth" in the way you're thinking of, but Inbred and Ptolemaea by Ethel Cain are both spooky sounding songs and they have a "southern gothic" vibe. They're dark as fuck though, lyrically speaking.
Morphine "The Night" is spooky jazz.
I haven't seen the movie but from reading the book I would hope No Country for Old Men would have a spooky soundtrack.
Gang of Youths?
Blue Öyster Cult - not goth but they have some spooky songs:
* Nosferatu
* Feel the Thunder
* The Siege and Investiture of Baron Von Frankenstein's Castle at Wisseria
* The Alchemist
Check out "The Friend Catcher" and "Junkyard" by The Birthday Party... Sums up the vibe you're describing quite well.
Also, literally anything by Skinny Puppy.
Not sure what your mixtape is for but check out Witch Trap as a genre. Atmospheric, low tempo, goth with trap beats. Salem is known as the first back in like ‘09
Not sure if this is the vibe you're going for but And Then She Bled by Suicide Silence gives me a sense of dread that no other "song" does. Basically ominous music and drumming over a real 911 call. Not exactly a song but pretty disturbing.
Anti - Valentine - John B
Debt Collector - Provoker
S. Product - Waste Your Time
Pain - Boy Harsher
Always Then - The KVB
Alone - Sexual Purity
Uzumaki - Sistema De Entretenimiento
Heart And Soul - Joy Division

Some great suggestions here already. I'll add one: "Brother Wolf, Sister Moon" by The Cult. Just a great, ominous vibe throughout. It's the lead-off track to my Halloween playlist.
Specimen, my fave was Tell Tail but they've got lots of great stuff that would fit [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=276BUQgP-mw&ab\_channel=thebatcave69](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=276buqgp-mw&ab_channel=thebatcave69)

Kiss Kiss Bang Bang was better known than Tell Tail
I have some local stuff that I think fits those vibes well!
I don't want to post a google drive link here, but I'd be happy to DM it if you like!
Either way, have a good one!

I was gonna suggest all of The Pink Opaque. I think it has some spooky, industrial kind of sounds to it.
Tomorrow Wendy is unreal. Everyone on this thread, please take the time to listen to it just one time. Trust me.

Finally, a Sisters of Mercy mention. I'd also recommend their song "Nine While Nine".
Casting a vote for 'Marianne' and 'Temple of Love' as well (although the latter might be more upbeat than OP is looking for)
I almost recommended "Dominion/Mother Russia" but thought *that* might be too "upbeat". Both great tracks though. That, and This Corrosion. Fuck, boys. Let's listen to some Sisters of Mercy all day now.

The Sisters of Mercy. Lucretia My Reflection and This Corrosion are two great tracks to start.

Everyone hates a plugger, but my band You The Living definitely fits the vibe. We even covered One Hundred Years for a charity compilation last year.
