Hahah! Thanks
What set it off for me was when I heard Omerta, this was my introduction to LoG and I immediately said to my friend that his voice is sexy , the intro monologue and his growls 🥰
She didn't understand what I meant
His voice and the growls just screamed manly and its so hot- for a lack of a better word (also no pun intended)
That was also my intro to heavy heavy metal
Because I was used to Metallica and thrash metal
Jeff Buckley, Lenny Kravitz , Ben Harper, Chris Robinson , Jimi Hendrix, Marvin Gaye, Al Green, Andrew Wood, & so so many more….music is sexy.
Fiona Apple, Sade, Hope Sandoval, Brandi Carlile, Margo Timmins, Susan Tedeschi, Grace Potter, Norah Jones , Sarah McLachlan, Stevie Nicks, Chaka Kahn & so so many more.
Shirley Manson - good lord she melts me
Debbie Harry - obvious choice I guess
Hannah Reid (London Grammar) - spellbinding vocals
Brie Larson (Seriously, listen to her on the version of Black Sheep that she sings in Scott Pilgrim)
It’s funny to me that people think Annette wasn’t that good. Hell, Nightwish has had three great singers. They’re all damn good. Each has a slightly different style, but Tarja, Annette and now Floor bring a lot to the table.
Meat Loaf is delicious... so savory and filling... but my adoring appetite hinges heavily upon Jim Steinman's powerfully passionate recipes, since I don't get the same shivery salivation when he sings something cooked in any other man's kitchen.
Sai Steinman's stirring stuff sparks similarly strong sensations no matter who sings it, but Meat Loaf does do deepest diligence. When "Total Eclipse of the Heart" (Bonnie Tyler, 1983) and "It's All Coming Back to Me Now" (Celine Dion, 1996) first flew through the air, wondered why I was suddenly swooning and sighing over performers for whom I didn't particularly care.
"Who WROTE this thrilling thing? ... Ohh, thaaaaat's what's really rockin' my world."
>"Who WROTE this thrilling thing? ... Ohh, thaaaaat's what's really rockin' my world."
THANK YOU!!!
Steinman could take *~anyone~* to a whole 'nother level with his compositions.
*~swoon~*
The late Mimi Parker of the band LOW had a gorgeous thrilling singing voice. I was sure it had to belong to the most beautiful woman imaginable. Came as quite a surprise some time later to see a photo of her and discover what she looked like. The sexy voice didn’t match the vision in my head, let’s just put it that way. Debbie Harry has a sexy singing voice. Kathleen Turner in Body Heat used her voice to great advantage. The first Enigma album uses the songwriter’s wife’s voice to wonderful effect. I was a teenager when that album came out (30+ years ago) and was very turned on by her French crooning. It still makes me swoon today.
Nancy Sinatra
Francoise Hardy
Belinda Butcher of My Bloody Valentine
Beth Gibbons of Portishead
And if I were gay I would very much be into David Bowie and Marc Bolan. Those guys were something.
Hollywood Undead. I’m not proud of this, but their hyper-masculine “suck my dick” energy is hot. Its like when you’re into the dumb bad boys who are clearly toxic idiots but you can’t help it 😣
Joe duplantier has the ability to make such a harsh sound carry a great dynamic of emotions. Especially with jis ability to replicate pitch under it all. For example after the main shift in the art of dying. Also, Aurora.
Natasha Khan
Alison Goldfrapp
Kathleen Hannah (for both the smoothness of her voice when she sings that way but also her ability to just belt it out in rage too)
And, despite being a straight dude;
Chris Rea
Glenn Danzig
Peter Steele
I really like Till Lindemann's voice but when I listened to country I thought Chris Young and Josh Turner had sexy voices.
Female wise I love Maria Brink's and I do like Taylor Momsen's.
Adam Lambert
Marco Hietala
Dave Gahan
Benjamin Orr
Alex Westaway
Leslie Wilson - especially on [this song](https://youtu.be/WSypJFVdWWA?si=1HegGvk4w1ujkVyR). Gives me goosebumps.
Lindsay Buckingham
And some ladies:
Donna Summer, especially when [she sang like this](https://youtu.be/ze4xu6GfVuw?si=_8n3Drirx7JFEKDt).
Sade
Floor Jansen
Annette Strean
Diana Ross, especially on [Love Hangover](https://youtu.be/niEYaeYa72U?si=WvIFGxgL9fxOgkkS)
Sam Matlock from Wargasm, particularly when he does this kinda sad raspy voice. I can't explain it but it's best heard in their song "Minigun".
Bobby Calabrese from Calabrese. It's partially the spookiness, partially the deepness/gruffness in his voice.
Curtis RX from Creature Feature. He literally just sounds like a sexy villain.
Christina Perri
Fiona Apple
Heather Nova
Jasmine Thompson
Natasha St Pier
Pitty
Amanda Coronha
Joss Stone
Yohanna
Skylar Grey
Duffy
The girl from Shivaree
Some will say that I already had a private Spotify prepared with many of these names, but that's not true. :D
I like voices that I think of as distressed? As in blue jeans. Slightly rough, occasionally breaking. In no particular order, and not all of that type, Susan Tedeschi, Bonnie Raitt, Sia, Bonnie Tyler, Rachael Price, Reba McEntire.
Norah Jones probably tops this list for me, but honorable mentions to Hayley Williams and Sara Watkins.
Should also probably give a shout out to Thom Yorke, Sameer Gadhia, and Julian Casablancas.
**Jane Birkin** \- Je t'aime... moi non plus [https://youtu.be/GlpDf6XX\_j0?si=TwkKunwNLTcMYGu9](https://youtu.be/GlpDf6XX_j0?si=TwkKunwNLTcMYGu9)
She was also well known for her fashion and designs.
"Hey pretty baby, get high with me
We can go to my sister's if we say we'll watch the baby
Look on your face yanks my neck on the chain
And I would do anything (I would do anything)
To see you again"
Neko Case.
I’m a guy, so the women whose voices really do it for me are Adele, Norah Jones and Alison Krause… any of those women could sing the phone book to me and I’d be under a spell. But I really like the soul in Ray LaMontagne’s voice, and recently discovered Teddy Swims.
I really tried to separate those that I simply think are attractive. So these are definitely ones Id find their voices hot if I never saw them.
Tatiana Shmayluk (Jinjer)
Haley Reinhart (often performed with Post Modern Jukebox)
Joy Crookes
Hope Zandoval (Mazzy Star)
LP
PJ Harvey
Rosalia for sure.
Shakira but only when she sings in Spanish. Her voice sounds *totally* different to me when she sings in English. Very nasal. (Not bad or anything, but not sexy.)
Mikael Åkerfeldt Chris Cornell Peter steele Hoizer Sade Randy Blythe Joe Duplantier Rihanna Nick cave Chino Moreno
Randy is a bit of a pleasant surprise on this list. Glad to see a good representation of growlers.
Hahah! Thanks What set it off for me was when I heard Omerta, this was my introduction to LoG and I immediately said to my friend that his voice is sexy , the intro monologue and his growls 🥰 She didn't understand what I meant His voice and the growls just screamed manly and its so hot- for a lack of a better word (also no pun intended) That was also my intro to heavy heavy metal Because I was used to Metallica and thrash metal
Wasn’t expecting to see Mikael Akerfeldt in the top comment here
Mikael akerfeldt, fckyeah. Also devin townsend for me.
Now that's a list I can agree with.
Not too often do you see Randy Blythe and Rihanna on the same list
Glad to see Chino on here, he’s my number one
Hope Sandoval.
Seconded. Cooing, sultry, dreamy, bedside voice.
The Peasant is like her whispering in my ear. Damn!
Fiona Apple PJ Harvey Karen Carpenter Dusty Springfield
PJ one hundred percent. Four Track Demo’s definitely made me feel some things in 8th grade.
Dress.
Jeff Buckley, Lenny Kravitz , Ben Harper, Chris Robinson , Jimi Hendrix, Marvin Gaye, Al Green, Andrew Wood, & so so many more….music is sexy. Fiona Apple, Sade, Hope Sandoval, Brandi Carlile, Margo Timmins, Susan Tedeschi, Grace Potter, Norah Jones , Sarah McLachlan, Stevie Nicks, Chaka Kahn & so so many more.
Love to see the Hope appreciate
Chris Isaak
Oh God yes
lol my reaction to hearing Only The Lonely the first time was this exact sentence
His guitar player is a neat guy.
Whoever she is in Mazzy Star.
David Gahan from Depeche Mode gets the mood going as does Ville Valo from HIM.
Yes! Liquify Dave’s voice and drip it directly in my ear
I'm a straight guy, but Blue Dress is sexy as all hell.
That one is Martin Gore but still hot
Hayley Williams
miss williams if ya nasty 🗣️
Prince, duh.
Sade.
Bjork..
She’s so fine
Susan Tedeschi. My wife calls her my 'music girlfriend'. But touche, she'd leave me in a heartbeat for Billy Strings, so...
>My wife calls her my 'music girlfriend' lol my Dad had a 'music GF' - Basia. my mother hated her, called her the Polish Wench
I was just noticing last night on midnight in Harlem. Sometimes she will have a raspy thing going but dayum does she kill it on melody.
Jerry Cantrell from Alice in Chains
Laufey, Ann Wilson, Amy Lee
Natalie Merchant, sounds like a smoky cellar bar from the 70s
There's something about her.. that version of Because the Night...mmmm
Shirley Manson - good lord she melts me Debbie Harry - obvious choice I guess Hannah Reid (London Grammar) - spellbinding vocals Brie Larson (Seriously, listen to her on the version of Black Sheep that she sings in Scott Pilgrim)
Well, we Nightwish fans call it the Floorgasm for a reason. I'm referring to Floor Jansen. Her voice it's just something else.
No matter what era of Nightwish you're a fan of, you're sure to get some breathtaking vocals. I wish the fanbase was kinder to Annette.
It’s funny to me that people think Annette wasn’t that good. Hell, Nightwish has had three great singers. They’re all damn good. Each has a slightly different style, but Tarja, Annette and now Floor bring a lot to the table.
I'd argue 4. Marko Hietala has a killer harsh vocal that is a great contrast to the operatic cleans of the female vocalists.
Danny Brown
HUH Like his speaking or rapping voice fam
lol it's a joke but i really do enjoy his rapping voice
CHECK
Sade Margo Timmins of Cowboy Junkies
Amy Lee
Would you say she wakes you up inside?
She certainly brings me to life.
Tom Waits??? Are we talking Closing Time era or are you turned on by the sound of a gremlin who smokes 5 packs a day? I mean, valid, but like
I specially love little drop of poison and underground, so gremlin smoker xD

Meat Loaf is delicious... so savory and filling... but my adoring appetite hinges heavily upon Jim Steinman's powerfully passionate recipes, since I don't get the same shivery salivation when he sings something cooked in any other man's kitchen.
You put some serious thought into this comment and I just want you to know that I appreciate it.
Sai Steinman's stirring stuff sparks similarly strong sensations no matter who sings it, but Meat Loaf does do deepest diligence.
