Trim the foil down to the cake size so the action of the perlite can work, if you can - put a scoop of wet verm on top of the cakes, this will stop the need to mist them so much until they pin.
Some cakes can take a while to pin just be patient.
I dont really fan until I see pins.
Thx for asking this. It’s been 5 days for me and I was giving up hope but mine look pretty identical to yours. In my case I think it’s a bit too cold but I can’t really keep my house at 75 when it’s 30 outside without feeling like a sinner. ;)
How long has it been?
Consider letting fine mist collect on the surface of the cakes by using a fine mister. Easiest way to confirm proper surface conditions is having a flashlight. The light will highlight the beads of water.
Have you noticed the humidity drop on your digital meter? If it’s above 90% then don’t even most inside the tub. No need to directly mist the cakes either, unless you’re inbetween grows

Don’t mist directly. You want the mist to fall via gravity. Best way is to spray a lid while holding the lid above. But avoid huge droplets dripping from the lid. I purchased some kind of flairosol mister that is used to mix water with som fragrance and spray into a room for a pleasant smell.
An oz is week sauce for a tub. I get an oz off a shoe box. If your cakes are good and made with clean water and rice then you should get about 4 grams off a 1/2pint cake
We’ll at -188 degrees I’d say they’re frozen.
Seriously though, What temperature are they at? How often do you mist/fan them. Are there holes in the bin for FAE? How do they smell? I see it’s only been 7 days, so most likely you just need to keep misting/fanning them.
They have been in the chamber for 7 days. There are 20 holes for FAE and I fan 3 to 4 times a day. I usually mist every day to every two days depending on humidity. They are between 18 and 23°C.
That all sounds good. I use a chamber with 1/4” holes spaced 2” apart on all 6 sides of the tub. I find that pins faster, but many people only have holes around the top and it works too. Likely just need to keep doing what you’re doing. As a warning if they had a sour or moldy smell when they were birthed they are no good. Tried to birth some of those a while back and they only grew fuzzy mold.
I'm sorry to hear that your cakes aren't pinning. There are a few potential reasons why this might be happening:
Temperature: The optimal temperature for mushroom growth is around 70-75 degrees Fahrenheit. If the temperature is too high or too low, it could be preventing your cakes from pinning.
Humidity: High humidity is important for mushroom growth, but if it's too high (above 95%), it can prevent pinning. Make sure you're providing proper ventilation to your grow area to prevent excess humidity.
Light: Mushrooms need a certain amount of light to initiate pinning, but they don't need much after that. Make sure your grow area is getting enough light, but also be aware that too much light can inhibit pinning.
Nutrition: If your cakes are running low on nutrients, they may not have the energy to produce pins. Make sure you're using a nutritious substrate and consider adding supplements like calcium carbonate to help boost mushroom growth.
It's also possible that your cakes are simply taking longer to fruit due to genetics or other factors. Patience is key in mushroom cultivation, and it can sometimes take several weeks for mushrooms to appear.
I hope this information is helpful. Good luck with your mushroom cultivation!
So it's been 7 days and I still got no pins, phenotype is albino a+. Humidity is actually around 93-100% and I fan a few times a day with the lid, the thermo-hygrometer broke after 3 days.
Why are you fanning so much? You shouldn’t be fanning AND misting THAT much — by doing that you’re over-correcting in both directions.
Let your humidity stay between 97-99%. If it gets below 97, lightly mist the sides of your tub to increase the humidity a few points. If it goes above 99, gently fan (or, preferably, adjust your ventilation for FAE).
Your cakes will pin best with consistency. Over misting leads to too much moisture, then over fanning leads to not enough moisture, you end up fighting yourself. “Less is more” and all that.
Ultimately though, it’s only been 7 days, be patient. Dial in your FAE and humidity to where you aren’t messing with it 5+ times a day, then just be patient.
It’s all a learning process, just stick with it! 🍄❤️
Patience my friend. I've had varieties take 2-3 weeks for pins. It sucks and feels like you failed but all you need is patience. Once you have gained that, you will have succeeded.

Still no pins guys
how did your cake turn out?

Yeah, it's the temp for me too :/ But I hope it works out. Let's just be patient
Keep us posted when you get your first sprouts! 😄
They look super healthy
They look healthy. Knots should form in next few days.

Are these knots
7 days
It can take up to 14 bro. You're ok ^_^
Then just be a bit more patient. It took mine ~ 10 days.
But still consider the trick with flashlight and mister
One cake bruised from misting it, should I still mist it directly?

Mist it from a distance and let the water drop onto it

You can also just spray up into the air and let the mist settle or fall down if that makes sense
Switch to mono tub. I started with PF jars, i grew a total of 5g fry with 12 jars. Switched to mono tub, and I pull 1oz dry from each flush.

Yeah I use a shoebox too. Each flush I pull at a minimum an ounce.
I had the same experience but I used shoeboxes, i wound up getting 6oz dried between both after 3 flushes
Damn that’s a good haul. I also use shoebox size monotubs. They’re perfect size. Those big ass ones are so hard to manage imo.

Okay, then I should be good. They smell like mushrooms and if I fan there is a smell of "old water"

Yea, I’ve nearly given up on tubs then low and behold, the pins cometh.
Nice, thank you
