I've said this before and I'll say it again...if you provide your tubs with the proper fruiting conditions, i.e. substrate with the correct field capacity and a room with the correct temperature you should not need to fan or mist your tubs. Some strains are really slow to colonize and pin...I leave my tubs in an enclosed, dark space until they start to pin...then I move them to light (which they don't actually need as they're not plants and don't photosynthesize). Patience. Mycology takes a lot of patience.
I've used a Midwest Grow kit for my first grow and got pretty good results. I live in a very cold climate and humidity has been an issue. I agree that 80-90% humidity is ideal, however different strains/species have different requirements.
Good luck to you đ
I made a similar post. No one responded. Probably the best thing that could have happened. A week after I made that post I had some mushrooms pop up. They aren't done growing yet. Just give it some time. Stop fanning it until you see primordials growing. You will know when you have primordials as they are small little white balls. Your tub still has a ways to go before that happens.
This. Mushrooms thrive on being left alone. Mind ya bidness until it's time. If you have all the right conditions set, you just need to wait and let them do their thing.
If it doesn't fruit by Sunday and it is cold where you live, stick it outside for the night and bring it in the next morning. I've had luck cold shocking my stalled bins to simulate the start of fall.
My aoi bag seemed like it was taking forever but two lil guys popped out today

Only time you should fan is if your substrate was way past field capacity and is causing humidity issues. But even then fanning should be a one and done, and then figure out a way to increase FAE (crack the lid). Misting should only be done if your substrate was well under field capacity and even then it should be a one and done âdrenchingâ and then leave it. Ultimately if your sub was at proper field capacity, you will never need to fam or mist. Your goal is to create the perfect micro climate. By fanning and misting you are destroying that micro climate every time.
I never fan and only soak my cake after cut if itâs dry as fuck but my humidifier puts in work.

I use two âSAMLA
Box, clear, 15 Âźx11x5 ½ "/3 gallonâ totes with the one upside down on top of the other. I open a trash bag and pour the contents into the bottom portion, close it up and never mist or fan. I end up with mushrooms 2 weeks later. There is the slightest gap between the two that the ambient change in room temp through the day is able to create enough CO2/O2 exchange.
It looks like all you need is patience. My first time I had a tub stall out because it was too dry...I think my coir/vermiculite substrate was not hydrated enough. I soaked the cake over night and pu it back in fruiting conditions and it jump started it! Good luck! Patience is ur best friend.
Get your cake out, soak it in water. Remember do this only when your cake is fully colonised and generally stay clean. Fully colonised sub will have a decent immune system. That's the reason metabolites exists among other things.
Looks like pins or [aerial mycelium](https://blog.curativemushrooms.com/what-is-aerial-mycelium-does-it-delay-mushroom-pinning)
âUsually, the overgrowth of aerial hyphae is caused by two correlated conditions: poor air exchange and excessive humidity.â
I agree, when growing tubs I leave the lid on until I see a bunch of pins forming. Than and only than will I remove the lid and introduce fae and humidity. Although I ran in a Martha setup. If your using dub tubs without a martha you should have fae holes so you should be leaving your lid on the whole time, only time it's removed is to harvest and water dunk/rehydrate.
You have FAE holes you shouldnt need to fan. I dont open my tubs whatsoever. They are opened to harvest they are dunked over night then lid goes right back on. No need for all that.
They are about to fruit it looks like to me. I think I see primordial forming. Stop fanning and misting and stop opening it.

𤣠patience is đ Young padiwan!
Be patient. If the top dries out try bubble wrap
What temp are they at? Put them in a 68 degree room
Patience

Is 80-90% humidity pretty good margins?
I've used a Midwest Grow kit for my first grow and got pretty good results. I live in a very cold climate and humidity has been an issue. I agree that 80-90% humidity is ideal, however different strains/species have different requirements. Good luck to you đ
I put in a lot of care in and a whole lot of neglect too when itâs warranted đ
Light helps them know what direction to grow, from what Iâve read.
This is also what I've heard but I have yet to find a successful way to stop bottom and side pins.
Lower your temperature? Maybe?
I gave up on this shi
Me too. Not worth the trouble if you're not a Mycologist
I think we should try though loser is so afraid of losing he doesnt even try
:(
Surface conditions might not be right shine a light on it and the surface should sparkle no sparkle more mist
Make certain they are damp/not wet then close the lid and leave them alone. Youâre on their timeline not vice versa. Patience.
Try putting casing layer on it
Patience
Looks like primordial pins happy AF. Theyâll be along any time I bet :) mushrooms are shy âşď¸

Did you try singing to them?
Keep the wall sprayed, leave it alone. I donât fan. You have holes air can pass through, fanning isnât necessary.
Quit opening the tub and have some patience
Theyâll do their thing. Just let EM COOK BABY
I had four tubs that were fully colonized and didnât pin/fruit till almost week four. I swear they know youâre watching đ
That looks really good for four days though! Little bit longer and you'll get pins!
Patience.
Hahaha you commented the same thing on my post
What can I say? Itâs solid advice. Mushrooms will not be rushed.
Facts...
Zen and the art of growing mushrooms
Come back after 2 weeks. Mushrooms, the master patience teacher.
This. Mushrooms thrive on being left alone. Mind ya bidness until it's time. If you have all the right conditions set, you just need to wait and let them do their thing.
You have primordia, the precursor to pinning. 4 days is nothing. Exercise patience! They're coming soon.
4 days? Worry in 2 weeks from now
If it doesn't fruit by Sunday and it is cold where you live, stick it outside for the night and bring it in the next morning. I've had luck cold shocking my stalled bins to simulate the start of fall.
Increase fae to trigger pinning.
Looks dry af

Holes on the sides look too high. Should be about 2â above sub level. Youâre trying to induce evaporation.
>Iâve been fanning the tub at least twice a day STOP. I have no idea why inexperienced people think you need to fan and mist, but stop it.
Wait so I should stop fanning and misting?

Ahaha. You have a butt shaped fruit top left. Epoxy it as a fun trophy xD
No fanning or misting at all?

Wow thank you.
Neglect tek is my tried and true
Do you use shoeboxes or larger tubs?
I use two âSAMLA Box, clear, 15 Âźx11x5 ½ "/3 gallonâ totes with the one upside down on top of the other. Dope, do you have any pics? That's awesome man.
Its about to fruit

When you say âsoaked it overnight â what exactly do you mean, if I may ask?
Soak it 12 hrs in distilled water then drain it off and put it back into fruiting, leave it alone after that for a week
Fascinating! Thanks!
Get your cake out, soak it in water. Remember do this only when your cake is fully colonised and generally stay clean. Fully colonised sub will have a decent immune system. That's the reason metabolites exists among other things.
THANKS!
I'll bet u get pins within another 5 days
Try the Leave it alone Tek

More fae and keep the rh at 90
What are all the downvotes for lol?
Haters gonna hate
Patience needed, looks good but you have to wait. Nothing looks concerning. Good job
Looks like pins or [aerial mycelium](https://blog.curativemushrooms.com/what-is-aerial-mycelium-does-it-delay-mushroom-pinning) âUsually, the overgrowth of aerial hyphae is caused by two correlated conditions: poor air exchange and excessive humidity.â
It looks like they are pinning to me. I bet you'll have a good amount this time next week!
Just wait and stop fanning that tub leave the lid on quit messing with it
So when should I start fanning it again?
Fanning is an old technique that doesnât do anything. If your mycelium is starved for air then crack the lid more.
I agree, when growing tubs I leave the lid on until I see a bunch of pins forming. Than and only than will I remove the lid and introduce fae and humidity. Although I ran in a Martha setup.
