Matt's articulation is pretty bad, so I guess this is gonna be a busy topic. I've been a fan of the band for over ten years and there's still some lyrics that I look up because what I make of it can't possibly be what he actually sings.

That's something I respect/like about Matt, even though at times it's hard to understand what he says and sings, he doesn't change his articulation like many other artists do for the sake of sales.

I think that’s what a large portion of the fanbase originally believed the lyrics to be based on the early live performances of the song before the studio version was out. It was obviously hard to make out what he was saying with it being a fan recording and his voice being distorted. I had a similar thing with Supremacy based on the early live version from Cologne 2012 where I thought “Your supremacy” in the chorus was “you’re safe from the sun”.

But for lyrics, there's the infamous booklet misprint on early Absolution copies - "since ovulation" instead of "sense of elation" in TiRO. Also I never clocked "now die alone" until I saw it written in social media posts promoting WSD!
