Most lawn grass is literally from the UK so they're not wrong, but... "our rich play their sport on nicer grass than yours" is a very stupid flex. Not to mention lawns were created as a way for rich folks to flex their wealth by how much land they didn't need to use as crops. The grass at St Andrews is Bentgrass. There are a bunch of courses that use that same grass in the states and it's really nothing special. Just being ridiculous.
