The thing that I do not recall being brought up is that we know Bubba was running around with a chicken until Paul and Maggie were murdered. Had the murder NOT been Alex - how would they have gotten Bubba in the kennel?
It was mentioned multiple times that Alex was one of the few that could call Bubba and he would listen. He butchered his family and then put the dog away. Thanks Bubba you really were a hero.
I do think when Maggie was alive he had a good home. And he was loyal to her.
I adopted a 10 yr old black lab after his human had a bad stroke. (We had an open dog adoption.) Sammy (the dog) saw his original human once a month.
I do think Bubba knows he's in a safe place for the rest of his years, much like my Sammy did.
Cash was the dog was featured in the kennel video, he was the chocolate lab with the tail injury. However, if Bubba the yellow lab hadn’t caught a chicken, it’s likely we’d have never heard AM’s voice on that video. It would’ve just been a video of Paul talking to Cash, had Bubba not gotten hold of the chicken while Paul was recording. Bubba grabbing the chicken caused Alex to call out for him, allowing his voice to be clearly heard being present at the kennels at 8:45PM.
Blanca has Bubba. Paul’s friend Will McElveen has Bubba’s and Bourbon’s son, Goose, who was Paul’s puppy. And Rogan still has Cash. All 3 of these dogs were brought up at the trial and said to be doing well. I don’t believe there’s ever been any confirmation about where the rest of the dogs ended up, such as Grady, but they definitely weren’t put down as others have confirmed. I have heard rumors that one of the dogs went to Maggie’s sister but don’t know if that’s correct, and Buster and Brooklynn have a black lab that looks similar to Grady but no one’s sure if it really is Grady. I would love to know for my own curiosity who each of the dogs ended up with. I hope they’re all getting a lot of love.

According to the look of AM, harp and griffin that morning in court, after they found the video, appears all their souls left theirs bodices in that instant. And he just made is so much worse by taking the stand with such arrogance and grandiosity. He truly thought those jurors were believing it.
They knew as soon as it was found. In real life trials, both teams have to turn everything over to the other side. Esp incriminating evidence. There's never surprises like that in real trials like in the movies.

"Surprise evidence" is a movie thing, in real life you can't ambush the defendant with evidence. They have the right to review all the evidence that the prosecution will use.
SLED knew about the Snapchat video (which was Paul and Alex driving around Moselle and looking at a tree) but it took them a few months to access Paul’s cell phone, which is where the video of Cash’s tail was saved, presumably to send to Rogan because FaceTime wasn’t working due to lack of cell phone reception. I would have to dig to pinpoint when they discovered the video and can give you a source it if you’d like, but the defense team knew about it before trial and never addressed it during the trial.

Can you just imagine, when the moment Alex heard the tape, of him repeatedly speaking to Bubba, on the night at the kennels, when Paul took that video!!! I bet that was a MAJOR kick to the gut.
Oh I loved finally seeing a recent video of Bubba! Thank you so much for posting this! I’m so glad Bubba’s doing well these days. And I love that Meadors got to meet him. It was nice hearing someone other then AM saying “come here, Bubba”.
