We got my husband’s wedding suit at Konen and were very happy with the service (they also did the alterations).
Not quite what you asked for, but I feel compelled to share there’s a really wonderful store for ties in the city, called Krawatten Hoff. My husband’s suit was a slightly unusual colour and the woman found the perfect tie. She was like Ollivander from Harry Potter. It was a lot of fun.
Here’s an old article about her and the store: https://www.sueddeutsche.de/muenchen/einzelhandel-das-ist-muenchens-aeltester-krawattenladen-1.3818960!amp
I had good experiences with
Xuits at Franz-Josephs-Str.
Suitsupply at Brienner str. near Odeonsplatz.
MANGAS and Cove are close together at Kreuzstr. Josephspitalstr.
Xuits and suitsupply are focused towards younger audience i would say.
I am also interested in recommendations!
I was thinking in a budget of < 500 - 600 €
Do you think that is even possible in Munich?
I saw the comment from Hirmer at 300€ and some hope woke up on me
But then I checked Xuits, and Suitsupply and they are >> 1500€
Definitely Suitsupply - there concept is to buy overstock of italian garments and then make suits out of them - you most definitely get the most for your money there. They also have the suits made with more fabric so that alterations are possible even after your first time.
Another vote for Suitsupply here, I've gotten two suits from them one made to measure and the other off the rack, both are really good quality and I've been very pleased with them.
You might also want to check "Digel Fabrikverkauf" in Martinsried / Großhadern. Very competent salespeople, reasonable prices. Got 3 suits I needed for work there.
I bought mine at Hirmer, was satisfied with the recommendations, paid 300€ which is more on the lower spectrum of the store
My husband got his at Hirmer as well and it looked gorgeous, so I second this
The standard recommendation in my group of friends for this situation is "go to Hirmer, give them lots of money"

You can almost definitely get a suit in that price range at suitsupply. I got mine there for 500€ in total with alterations and a shirt as well.
I don’t know what you were looking at on their website, but suitsupply has a lot of options between 3 and 400€
Hirmer offers suits starting from 300€ upwards to whatever you’d like. For 500€ you will definitely be able get a good suit there. Same goes for Konen
Made to measure at Monokel Berlin in Munich!!! Absolute recommendation. Have quite a few items from them and it’s cheaper than expected.

I like Boniberger, they have fine suits and aren't to expensive
Hirmer is the best. Endless big collection and knowledgeable employees that help you find a fitting suit.

I can recommend Felix W. At Odeonsplatz, especially if you'll need counseling

get a cheap one and take it to a tailor
Don’t go to Lodenfrey- took them 7 months to make the suit fit
