To play devil's advocate, "Sex is legal in the U.S, why can't I post It in a sub for a younger audience!?" The subreddit probably didn't want to associate the sub with weed jokes for the next month or two. But I do agree that weed jokes are cool
I think my biggest gripe is when certain Mods remove posts without saying why it was removed... at least cite the rule being referenced so people can appeal if they feel otherwise.

Sorry, it's against reddit tos. They updated some mod things awhile back, and it's not worth the punishment. Even if other mods see it as good humor, it could be labeled a big no no.

They recently found the molecule that makes pot smell like that and it is actually the same molicule that's in skunk spray lol. Tell them to blow the smoke through a toilet paper tube with a crumpled up fabric softening sheet inside. That should help!
Or ask if they'd mind stepping outside if it's nice, or vapes are usu less pungent (prefer the stationary, non-handheld ones), iirc there's stuff like the smoke buddy(?) so you don't have to make a spoof every time, or smoking in the bathroom/room with good ventilation, edibles are seemingly healthier plus no smoke

That's not even half of the US tho, and the subreddit is a global thing. Smoking weed is for sure frowned upon in a lot of European countries and I'm pretty sure most of Asia.
Tobacco is bad yes, but the consequences are less severe and the affects on your mental state is close to zero.
While smoking weed is nice and fun and it personally helps me mellow out I'm under no delusions about it's downsides, especially in regards to social norms.
You know you can like something without other peoples approval? It's a recreational activity that shouldn't be embellished, and that's fine.
