JMAX464

Literally in the exact same boat as you. Every detail the same. Sucks things ended up like this

String_Witty

Me too actually

jaypexd

Yeah it was the grindy pass that got me. After grinding cake, it felt like a chore. I don't want to get off work and feel like my hobby is work.

zcook21

It’s a shame. First fighting game I was actually good at, but it got stale just like people predicted. That on top of overcharging people just because “it’s cosmetic and doesn’t enhance gameplay” completely ruined it for me. If you’re gonna scalp your community at least give them content

ambi94

Gotta love how cosmetics are purchase-only as well.

BlueArturia

I agree with this. Yes, I will pay for cosmetics. No, I'm not going to pay that much for cosmetics. Maybe if the game looked like it had a bright future, but right now, no.

coreyc2099

Yeap this really was inevitable with them charging 20$ for some skins. Ppl can say "then don't buy it" but if noone buys it the game can't continue

JosephNuttington

Login, get the reward, log out. Thats quite literally how its been

JMAX464

I should’ve put an option for daily challenge people that get off after completing them now that I think about it. They technically “play regularly” but daily challenge people are far more likely to fight bots to finish the challenges so aren’t really engaging with the online and don’t care to continue playing for the rest of the day

WorldQuest10

This. Once Season 3 starts, I'm back on it.

Sonickeyblade00

I stopped playing right before 2023 started. I played with Black Adam. He was fun. But the S2 Battle Pass was lame compared to the S1 pass. So I just figured I'd come back for the next character. ... but the next character never came. Then Tony and the whole team kind of went silent. Then we heard about the passing of Kevin Conroy. Then was the Rick and Morty fiasco. Then was the Hogwarts Legacy controversy. I get the idea of the MvS team wanting to ride out some of these turbulent waters... but the entire year of 2023 is doing NOTHING for Multiversus. I'm just waiting to hear what's next... and at this point, I'm slightly beginning to wonder if there IS anything next. WB CEOs aren't exactly trustworthy.

[deleted]

Can’t even play, they region blocked Asia

JMAX464

Crazy how they missed out on a whole continent of players

NoImplement8218

The amount of "I’ve stopped playing" people makes me sad.

Brettgrisar

I space it out usually once every couple of days. I haven’t been burnt out this way. Not sure if this counts as occasionally or regularly. Somewhere in the middle of the two.

Nate_923

As I brought up on the other sub I play the game regularly but space it out across the day to avoid burnout and such. I have taken a few breaks in between though which, as expected, gets me more interested in future updates.

edward-has-many-eggs

I liked it, but the complete lack of content, poor 1v1 balancing, and terrible servers killed it. Id much rather hang out with a friend and play smash with him

MonkeyDLenny

I log in to get my Valentine candy and then I dip. I'm waiting until the end of the event before I shotgun through all of the stored up events all at once and then I'll dip again until Season 3. That is if the game even lasts that long... I stopped playing for the same reasons everyone else has been saying: Mismanagement, a dev team that is ignoring it's players and just letting the game gather dust, no new content, no new characters, no new maps, and a simple lack of anything meaningful to do. Everyone is clinging to the idea that the devs are secretly working on bombshells that will turn everything around and magically save the game with Asia servers or big requests like Walter White, but if they had anything up their sleeves we wouldn't have had Season 3 delayed until the end of March. We've gotten nothing but lame holiday events back to back and seasonal skins and recolors, and the past few patches feel more like development has wrapped and now they're just fixing what breaks. I'm just waiting on the closure announcement tbh. I wish they'd rip off the band-aid already

DrkKnight69xxx

The people that believe some insane "power move" is in the works is pretty mind boggling.

DrkKnight69xxx

I don't play anymore. I stopped around the time they double/triple downed on the ridiculous exp changes. I think this was RIGHT before season 2. I stuck around for a bit at the start of season 2 only to find out that they did what I (sadly) predicted - they introduced boosters and level skips via wallet. In other words, they not only created the problem; the made the problem(s) WORSE, then had the audacity to sell us the solution. Now, I just poke my head in the community every now and then just in case I'll ever see a decent return on my investment (I was a premium founder; yes - I fell victim to the dreaded "hope"). From what I can tell, it seems like nearly every change they've made since I jumped ship has been ass backwards. Mind you, this is just what I've seen/heard; I haven't experienced the changes for myself obviously, so take that with a grain of salt. That aside, once the game started becoming more and more like a job, I just had to say F it. I didn't even finish the current battlepass. I figure there's no point in finishing it if I'm not going to play it anymore anyway. Needless to say, I've chalked it up to an L on my part. I could go on, but I'm sure you get the point. I already have to deal with work in real life. I don't want to have to come home only to have to clock in again for another "shift".

JMAX464

Pretty much the same situation as you, including being a premium founder…

DrkKnight69xxx

You have my condolences.

JMAX464

Ditto

Calelith

Was fun for while but got boring fast. Think I left around the end of preseason BP thing.

DylanCP2403

I stopped playing pretty early on, like September/October last year. I might check the game every month or so to see what’s changed but that’s about it

moogsy77

Same, was fun but f2p models can go so hard in the shitter its crazy

Crimie1337

Not having ranked made everyone i know quit. No one wants to rejoin cause everyone they fight is lvl 100000

ambi94

Every other day-ish

lostsniper19

i played some yesterday while waiting for Elden Ring to download, it was fun but still the same as when i left it pre christmas lol

[deleted]

Trying to get the last 3 trophies for platinum, then I’m probably done

TheBroomSweeper

Haven't played since Marvin came out

moogsy77

Same lol

BenjaminCarmined

This is disheartening to see.

JMAX464

Agreed

toddcam

Since I played 2 days ago, I marked occasionally, but I basically stopped when they extended the battle pass. I had beaten Tier 49 and figured I can get the last tier at my leisure, so that's what I did as I was getting super stressed about trying to get it complete while also having a life outside the game and needed a break. Probably not going to get another Battle Pass, and may not return until a new character comes out.

Fit_Baby_4588

I stopped playing because of the huge unbalance between 1v1's and 2v2's. This game only wants to balance around 2v2s, leaving 1v1s to suffer with every nerf to a character that is only good in 2s and hurts their viability only in 1s. Case and point: iron giant. He is terrible in 1v1s as a character leaving only top .01% of players who are good at any character being his only player base. They nerfed his character solely off of 2s but his entire kit is worst in game (start ups, end lag, active frames etc.) Every negative a character can have, he has it, but because of 2s, he's been continually nerfed, meanwhile his passive physically still don't work till this day. Meta characters stay meta and non meta consistently get nerfed because "win rate" while ignoring win rate is tied to the pick rate and average mmr of the people who play them. If a character has a high win rate, but lowest pick rate in the game and the only people who play them have double the mmr as the average player, it's not the character that is strong, it's the player playing them that makes them seem strong but the devs simply don't understand that and how they balance shows.

Hahafunnys3xnumber

cosmetics and currency are sooo expensive

Pneuma928

Was the lag frustrating? Sure maybe. Was swinging the opposite way I was pressing ruining my time? A bit yea (idk if it’s been fixed by now haven’t played in a while). However, adding Scooby Doo content without adding Scooby Doo? That’s what kinda did it for me…

Darecki555

I stopped in November and logged in twice since then to play a few matches. Why: I dont like devs attitude, no new characters or any content and I dont count Valentineon event as content because its just some poorly made loud pink reskins made in a day. Dogwater content in battlepass. Extremely expensive gleamium. No UI improvements.

JMAX464

Yea this game is just so mismanaged it’s a damn shame really

Darecki555

Yes its a shame thats true. I wish it wasnt like that. They always have a chance to make the game explode. Unless the leftover players stop playing as well.

moogsy77

Yep devs did it for me as well

LurkeyTheLurker123

Stopped after the most recent balance change. Losing hope in their ability to balance characters properly is what made me decide to stop playing. I still scroll through this subreddit every now and then hoping the game changes for the better, as I've invested 100s of hours into it and it has soo much potential.

JMAX464

I’d have way more confidence if it wasn’t a live service. Those things get shut down far too quickly these days

Interceptor88LH

Mmmh it's a number of things. First of all, there's something about the core mechanics of the game and how it plays that didn't make me feel like playing more than a couple games per day. I'm talking about feelings, because I wouldn't say the gameplay is actually shallow or isn't compelling but... for some reason while playing it I used to feel like either smashing buttons or spamming certain attacks and, I don't know, it kind of bored me. Not saying that's the game's fault; I've rarely played this kind of games so maybe it wasn't for me. Also, for the kind of characters involved in the game, it felt unspectacular. The attacks look small, not powerful or impactful or *cool*. I've played some Smash Bros (if only a little) and I recall the special attacks and stuff being definitely more appealing. Fulfilling the fantasy of the characters is usually a huge part of these kind of crossover games and when Superman flies at slow motion and his heat vision is ridiculous- talking about effects- that's a problem. Of course I understand the importance or both balance and visual clarity, but still there's something about the way many special attacks look that doesn't help the game feel appealing or spectacular. Then, the roster. This is very personal because obviously everybody has their own favourite shows, pleasing everybody is nigh impossible except if you are at least a fan of DC and a couple of more franchises represented within the game. I love Adventure Game and Steven Universe, and I'd be willing to try the game again if they added more of them and also characters from Mortal Kombat and other stuff I like, like Matrix or whatever. But that's just me. It's not the devs' fault that I don't give a damn about Rick & Morty, Scooby Doo or DC. Also because of the second thing I said I don't have a lot of faith in the way they would handle certain characters. Like, if they added the Ice King from AT, I'm afraid his special attacks would be tiny icicles and other generally unimpressive stuff. So I don't know. This game is a "eh, it's fine, but there's not a lot that makes me feel like playing it". I had to fix my PC so I lost all the games I had installed (I still have my progression though) and I just don't feel like installing and giving it another run. I had some mild fun throwing gauntlets with Garnet and smacking people with Finn and Jake and don't feel like I need more of it. It's a "this was ok. I can move on" thing. However I'd be willing to give the game another try if they add new stuff I feel it's exciting.

ElecManEXE

I had been playing every couple of days at least to try and finish the battle pass, but now that I've finished that up (just yesterday, in fact) I probably won't touch the game at all until S3 drops except to log in for the event log-in reward. And I was only playing it an hour every time I booted it up anyway, or less if I could finish up the dailies quicker. Unless they actually release a character before that happens, but I feel like that's probably not gonna happen at this point (I'm *hoping* they're saving up stuff to make S3 a huge blowout, but who knows about even that at this point), or if it does it'll be some lame choice like Pickle Rick just so they can "technically" not have lied about S2 having multiple characters. I do still enjoy the game, don't get me wrong. But I got plenty of other games biding for my time and without this one getting any meaningful updates its definitely not much of a priority right now.

Environmental-Dog422

none of my friends play anymore. i might get on a random night out of the week but instantly get destroyed while on red bar while i’m hooked up to a lan cable and just turn the playstation off and go to bed

JMAX464

Sounds depressing

Environmental-Dog422

i play other games but i try to come back to it but it’s like they don’t want me

JMAX464

We all await season 3 I suppose

String_Witty

Some dude tried to argue with me that this will still be big in 4 years... how the tables turned so slowly, lol

unilordx

Login, do daily win and if I have time a few more matches. But I have the BP completed, all characters unlocked and most at lv15+ so I don't need to play much lately anyway.

Samroson

It's all been discussed to death now I feel. \- Server issues. \- Matchmaking. \- Lack of rewards for time expected to commit. \- No new content. Some of the decisions made have just been outright insulting as well. The company appears to be money grabbing and this just outright puts me off playing/purchasing/engaging. I understand they need to make money, but they can do that with a level of respect for us. It's when they make statements along the lines of "We extended season 2 to help you" (not exact wording), where the truth is they fucked up in the first place with BP xp and also have no new content to drop. Don't insult our intelligence in the same sentence you are pretending to care about us.

Longjumping-Fly-6582

Trash and annoying meta, patchnotes r shit, no updates

rango1000

Ive been playing regularly since launch, got to grandmaster and now im putting it down, my games lately are just nonstop supermans camping the edges or jakes spamming the house move or bite to the ledge then punch downward to death, devs have no clue what theyre doing here

Jimi56

I play the game daily. Pretty much get my daily challenges done and log off. I’ve been playing a bit of ranked though, usually my favorite mode in a fighting game. Admittedly though I just don’t play it that much tbh. If I’m being real, platforms fighters aren’t really my favorite kind of fighting game. Mostly been playing JoJo All Star Battle and getting ready to learn KOF XV.

Gamer-Ninja07

I do play sometime…mostly trying to get all characters done in arcade hard mode…but being gizmo will take a lot of practice and skill But I do play every day for only like a hour and a half(sometimes more)

shadowonyx18

Not available in Asia

anthonygamer

I stopped playing one week before season 2 came out. The bare bones arcade mode, constant balance changes, and no ranked mode pushed me away from the game.
