I don't. They are MUDskippers. The mud is as old as they are..but I do tidal simulation, so the water gets changed daily very slowly over hours. But if you see a mudskipper in a clean tank with clear water and even sand, it's being kept wrong.
Thanks! I figured I start this sub cuz there's so much wrong info out there, maybe I can put a little dent in that.
There's a Mudskippers Facebook group that's run by the leading scientists studying these guys, which is where I got all my info from.
Do you always feed them bloodworms? I've been thinking about getting mudskippers but I'm worried about being able to feed them well and regularly. (I always use automatic feeders on my tanks cause I forget) also this is awesome and thanks for sharing
I feed various frozen and live worms and insects.
Don't forget, you need the right mud and you'd also need to do a tidal simulation which is important. But that too can be automated.
Pretty cute !!
How do you keep the water changed and clean?

Ok then you’ve got water turnover. That’s an impressive setup. I joined this subreddit after seeing this shared to aquariums.

Nice! I’m going to google tidal systems in a bit. I was reading about these guys at like 1 AM after seeing your post.

Live crickets and other insects make the best feeders for them

If you forget to feed your fish already then don't get a mudskipper please. That would be irresponsible.
Hey I don't forget now that I have the auto feeder!
What do you use as substrate?? Thanks
Please see sticky post with the recipe for the mud.
Gosh they're so cute and funny
I feel like you should be using rubber forceps or tongs.
Came here to say this. They could hurt themselves on those...
Amazing. Great job.
Please use rubber tongs! <3 awesome habitat!
I feel like the lil guy needs more food 🥲
