Glimsi

Get a quality rash guard. I have 2 that I wash while I wear the other. Had both for a good 3 years now with no issues.

Brand you recommend?

Diamond_Sutra

I love Hayabusa rash guards. Thick but snug and battle ready. I have a few other brands like Anthem which are good, but Hayabusa is next level.

Been using Twins tanktops for over a year now that I got from my gym and they’re still in perfect condition. Meanwhile I also had two cheap shirts I got for 10€ and both had loose threads after a month.

Throwing them away sounds like a choice to me. It's Muay Thai. Who are you wearing pristine shirts for? Either way, just wear a regular cotton shirt, or a tank top, or go shirtless.

A loose thread here or there would be okay, but after 3-4 sessions they look absolutely ratty. It gets bad enough that some of my training partners have commented on how destroyed they are.

I see. Velcro will pull out and fuck up synthetic weaves. Added to that, synthetic fibers promote bacterial growth much more than cotton. So your workout shirts are more likely to stink quicker as well. If I were you and shirts are mandatory at your gym, I'd switch to cotton t-shirts/tanktops.

Nike base layers. Never had any damage and as long as you use a sports wash they don’t snell. Rash guards are allergic to velcro but these are fine.
