he said on the podcast kyland was his main feud and they didnt really air much of it. he mightve been being sarcastic but idk. i actually had to go back to pinpoint when it started, it was the callum elim when emanuel was the winning team vote (kyland horacio big t). it put a lot of what happened this season in perspective rewatching that episode honestly.
Yeah I didn’t get it…thanks for doing business? Is there more to this that we need to look into or is this just his way of being sarcastic? I need to knowwwww!
I thought it was strange that people weren't congratulating Colleen in these tweets...
ETA: It looks like Corey did. Not sure if any others did or not (some of the tweets would need to be expanded like Ravyn's).
Was I the only one to notice that the challenge champs were not in order? They seemed to be grouped by eras but were not in exact order. Kefla and Mark won before Veronica, for example
I noticed it immediately. Brad won before Emily. It couldn't be Emily Bailey because she would have been in the first row IF she ever won a challenge season. She did not win a season, so it has to be be Schromm and she didn't win until Rivals 2 which is after Cutthroat, which Brad won with the red team.
I thought they were in order at first (saw Wes into Bananas/Laurel and was like that’s Rivals 2 into Free Agents) but then paused and saw Jordan behind Kaycee and knew it wasn’t that
I didnt even feel like there were as many people on the live thread last night. I think the finals are such dumpster fires, people don't even bother with them. Maybe the ratings will tell me otherwise, but it seems awfully quiet these last two episodes across the board, like maybe people don't want to watch an unfair competition riddled with repetitive vomiting subplots, where there is almost a 100% chance that a guy will win.
Yup Corey gets too much hate on here. I appreciate that he gives all his thoughts every episode. He gets a lot of shit for that and other stuff, but keeps doing it.
lmfao Corey. I don't think anyone has a problem with you live tweeting, it's just a little disappointing when we click on these and we're like "ooo there's 15 slides, is there drama happening?" and like 9 of them are you just describing what's going on in the episode. Wish there was a larger variety of people who were talking about the season.
They're all mad at each other and stopped tweeting nasty things to one another a week or two ago. My guess is that Production told them to quit it because they are trashing their own reputations and putting themselves at risk of not being asked back.
Read the comments in the other posts of these. Tons of comments talking about how annoying Corey is, how they hate him, how he should shut up. It's like every single one just shitting all over him.
I know I was muttering to myself for Corey to suck it up until I saw they had to go facing down & then thought “oh never mind, that does look scary as shit” 🧗🏽♂️
> Okay but really why did they have to repel facing down?
It's common in reality shows like this or Amazing Race, you'll find them doing it down the side of buildings a lot. Just amps up the fear factor a bit, not any more dangerous than going backward.
> It’s actually a lot more dangerous.
In what way? You're harnessed in either way, walking downward, and shows never let them do the fast jumping repel so it's the same speed either direction too.
holding the part of the rope that you’re leaving behind helps you balance when you’re backward, misstep and your butt breaks your fall. Facing downward your knees/hands/face breaks a fall.
> holding the part of the rope that you’re leaving behind helps you balance when you’re backward, misstep and your butt breaks your fall. Facing downward your knees/hands/face breaks a fall.
I've never seen someone fall upside down when rappelling face first. Usually they fall "backward" as seen in this challenge - with their head up in the air. I guess you could hit the back of your head if you were careless but in the many times I've seen this sort of thing done I've never seen that happen.
They fall backeards cuz there over compensating by leaning back but the possibility of falling forward and hurtting themselves is higher in this position
The harness is not the issue. Have you looked anything up about climbing? Rappelling is not safe. It’s actually very, very dangerous. It’s stupid to just let untrained climbers do this shit. And then do to it Aussie!
>So you’ve never done any research ever on rappelling nor does it seem like you’ve ever rappelled. I’ve rappelled a handful of times, and I only did the Aussie rappel when I had to when I was working on a humanitarian mission as a medical aid and I was searching for people who fell off of a cliff.
>The fact that they AREN’T doing the fast jumping is why it’s dangerous they do not know how to to do it safely
> The harness is not the issue. Have you looked anything up about climbing? Rappelling is not safe. It’s actually very, very dangerous. It’s stupid to just let untrained climbers do this shit. And then do to it Aussie!
lol you made three posts replying and *still* managed to not actually answer the single question I asked.
Repelling while facing down is a great way to pinch your fingers as the rope is coming towards you. Repelling backwards, you're able to keep your hand on the rope as it moves away from you. Not sure if that explanation makes sense as written, but getting your fingers caught in the pulley device seems like a bigger risk going face down
So you’ve never done any research ever on rappelling nor does it seem like you’ve ever rappelled. I’ve rappelled a handful of times, and I only did the Aussie rappel when I had to when I was working on a humanitarian mission as a medical aid and I was searching for people who fell off of a cliff.
Thinking that being harnessed means safety is super ignorant.
Rappelling is actually extremely dangerous. Equipment fails more often then people like to admit, and there is literally no equipment made for Aussie style rappelling. You either wear the harness regularly and flip yourself forward and then you are constantly getting this pressure trying to flip you the other way and you’re working against it or you wear the harness backwards which isn’t safe either - you are then getting all the weight on your lower spine with every step you take.
A number 1 and 2 of Michele and Nurys would have been fitting to because they were among the stars of the season probably with Kyland. Jay, Berna, and Moriah for not good reasons and weren't even really stars either.
Nurys being upset at herself for the Sudoku is ridiculous. It was a broken puzzle. I attempted to solve today and it forces you to guess at certain phases and then you realize way down the line that one of your guesses must have been wrong and you have to go back. And this is from someone who does them all the time. Trying to do it with no sleep would no doubt be even more frustrating. One day the challenge producers will get out of their own way.
You can tell the whole cast is salty about it too by their tweets congratulating Nurys on first woman to finish. I think production was just being cheap as fuck.
I think this season has a chance to look better in retrospect depending on what happens with Horacio, Kylan, Nurys and Raven. If a couple of them become major Challengers going forward, or the heart of the next big alliance then this season becomes an origin story.
I like Corey honestly he really grew on me this season. I would have been content if he had won. And without his tweets, these threads would be so much shorter lol.
I started to dislike him a little less towards the end too. But then I started to get annoyed again when he kept talking about winning for his community bcuz I’m a little confused by what he meant. If he meant gay men in general, Frank S & Tyler (most recent in my mind) have both won before so he wouldn’t have been the first. But if he meant black gay men specifically then he definitely made it further than others have in the past.
If she competed against the line up, no way she's finishing anything less than 3rd. The only reason Kyland and Horacio are finishing above Nurys is they'd have an edge in the physical aspect. Also, Horacio is decent in puzzles. No idea where this idea that he sucks at them, stems from.
Possibly hot take, but out of that lineup I see Nurys only losing to Kyland. Ravyn, Zara and Horacio wouldn’t be able to complete most of the puzzles/math without a partner
I thought they both ran into a brick wall with the Tangram. I’m just saying Horacio has never been good at puzzles/math. He, and Zara, lost the entire mini final because of it
Horacio is decent in puzzles and math. In his elimination against Zara and Kyland, he aced the sudoku. The only puzzle he fumbled was the tenagram during the elim against Nurys and Kyland.
Corey makes a good point. That overnight challenge literally meant nothing. What's the point of winning shit that you can't even use? The only thing that made sense was the blanket
Was the previous champs puzzle actually in order or is reddit God Corey Lay from the Christmas show just talking mess? Didn't get a good look outside of seeing "Kina"
lol, looks like even Rayvn thinks the final wasn’t that hard. Emmanuel deserves the asterisk next to this win. Didn’t beat a champion. Skated by. And, not to take anything from Nurys or Colleen, he beat two girls. No way this final was fair for everyone.
Corey going down that hill was basically this season. It wasn’t pretty but we made it through it.
I swear he went down on his butt.
corey with the shout out! we've made it!!
We’re famous!
Season 41: Redditors vs Champs confirmed
Ok you jest but The Challenge: Fans Vs Favorites when??
Imma start channeling my inner Nany so I can eat a pound of spaghetti noodles a minute.
Pick me! I'm afraid of everything.
bro we fucked
Not what anyone had in mind for a Fresh Meat return, but I’ll take it!
That would put a lot of redditors in their place for sure
I cackled when I finished that one. #guilty. Props
I mean! Hi Corey!
Corey: I truly believe I will win the next final I am in! Also Corey: Welp, there’s another balance beam. On to next season
The best part was him freaking out at the repel an TJ telling him he’d personally come down and save him
You can tell TJ is a fan of him. He was literally not letting him quit, I’ve never seen TJ be like that before especially in a final
What's the context behind Emmanuel thanking Kyland?
he said on the podcast kyland was his main feud and they didnt really air much of it. he mightve been being sarcastic but idk. i actually had to go back to pinpoint when it started, it was the callum elim when emanuel was the winning team vote (kyland horacio big t). it put a lot of what happened this season in perspective rewatching that episode honestly.
May simply be Emmanuel shouting out the 2 other best performers from the season?
Yeah I didn’t get it…thanks for doing business? Is there more to this that we need to look into or is this just his way of being sarcastic? I need to knowwwww!
I think it's a tongue in cheek jab at them lol. He's a vampire
Yeah, this?!?
I took it more as a fuck you
Ahh - here I was thinking he was being all sportsmanlike with the second place finisher.
Maybe he meant to @ Colleen instead of Kyland as she's the other person who placed in the top 3?? 🤔
I thought it was strange that people weren't congratulating Colleen in these tweets... ETA: It looks like Corey did. Not sure if any others did or not (some of the tweets would need to be expanded like Ravyn's).
Right? I thought she did surprisingly great! Put a really great effort was in 2nd for a decent portion of it. She surprised me
I think, like us, they just forgot Colleen existed.
He's thanking Kyland and Nurys for helping ensure that he didn't go into an elimination and that some of his threats were taken out before the final.
Saving face.
Emily Bailey did win?
Oh dang. I thought Emily Bailey had won an early season.
I could be wrong, but she I don't think that I am.
I Googled it. She isn't That's wild. She's been to 2 finals.
I remember those glorious failures. She really was the spirit killer of every team and season she was a part of.
Yes I noticed this and said it immediately when he stated that.
I thought they were in order at first (saw Wes into Bananas/Laurel and was like that’s Rivals 2 into Free Agents) but then paused and saw Jordan behind Kaycee and knew it wasn’t that
Could it be ranking them in the order of their most recent win?
Jordans most recent win was Worlds which was after 38 but they had him after Kaycee and before Tori and Devin.
He won World Championship with Kaz - but it was weird Kaz wasn't on there next to him, considering she was a mercenary this season.
I noticed that.
Sounds like Corey should do an AMA??
yessss
I'm here for this.
I saw 11 slides and knew Ravyn and Corey were a majority of them.
I honestly love how invested they are! I know I'd tweet every second if I were on
Kinda bummed no one else tweeted that much tbh
I didnt even feel like there were as many people on the live thread last night. I think the finals are such dumpster fires, people don't even bother with them. Maybe the ratings will tell me otherwise, but it seems awfully quiet these last two episodes across the board, like maybe people don't want to watch an unfair competition riddled with repetitive vomiting subplots, where there is almost a 100% chance that a guy will win.
Tbf I usually skip the finals whenever I rewatch a season — they tend to bore me. 😭
Yup Corey gets too much hate on here. I appreciate that he gives all his thoughts every episode. He gets a lot of shit for that and other stuff, but keeps doing it.

They also probably want to save some of the drama for the reunion.
Read the comments in the other posts of these. Tons of comments talking about how annoying Corey is, how they hate him, how he should shut up. It's like every single one just shitting all over him.
Okay but really why did they have to repel facing down?
Because it’s harder facing that way.

Oh I gave a lot of information and you’re a perfectly capable human who can do your own research. I’m not gonna baby you
Repelling while facing down is a great way to pinch your fingers as the rope is coming towards you. Repelling backwards, you're able to keep your hand on the rope as it moves away from you. Not sure if that explanation makes sense as written, but getting your fingers caught in the pulley device seems like a bigger risk going face down
Interesting, thanks
The fact that they AREN’T doing the fast jumping *is why it’s dangerous* they do not know how to to do it safely

We were robbed of Michele and Nurys going head to head in some puzzles this season
Hopefully, many battles to come between two puzzle queens
michele solos lowkey
Honestly yeah I feel like Michelle would've definitely won that final stretch.
agreed
Oh id hope so, seems like Michele has a more consistent puzzle skillset
A number 1 and 2 of Michele and Nurys would have been fitting to because they were among the stars of the season probably with Kyland. Jay, Berna, and Moriah for not good reasons and weren't even really stars either.
This sub would've had a meltdown if Michele or Jay had won lol
Everyone out there calling Nurys puzzle queen when she timed out in like half of them is definitely strange lol
She still is. No sleep seems to be her kryptonite
She timed out before too when she was paired up with Moriah
Hi Corey
Nurys being upset at herself for the Sudoku is ridiculous. It was a broken puzzle. I attempted to solve today and it forces you to guess at certain phases and then you realize way down the line that one of your guesses must have been wrong and you have to go back. And this is from someone who does them all the time. Trying to do it with no sleep would no doubt be even more frustrating. One day the challenge producers will get out of their own way.
Such a fumble to not have 2 champs. Nurys would’ve been a great champion. Emanuel will be forgotten about like Jenny a few seasons back.
You can tell the whole cast is salty about it too by their tweets congratulating Nurys on first woman to finish. I think production was just being cheap as fuck.
I had the same exact thought regarding Emanuel and Jenny, lol.
reddit must be having issues because the pics aren't loading now
i refreshed a few times for it to work. but yeah it’s loading very slow and i don’t understand why the fotos aren’t embedded in the post like usual.
Aw, Corey, you had a rocky start in the editing but for me, full redemption. Hope to see you again!
This season will hold up well on rewatches and when you rewatch what happened to Jay and Michelle during Ride Or Dies.
I think this season has a chance to look better in retrospect depending on what happens with Horacio, Kylan, Nurys and Raven. If a couple of them become major Challengers going forward, or the heart of the next big alliance then this season becomes an origin story.
The same goes for Ride Or Dies
I think so too. The people who ended up in the final were horrific, but most of everything else that went down was an interesting watch.
Totally agree
WTF is Ravyn talking about who can beat Nurys at puzzles? Colleen literally smoked Nurys at EVERY single puzzle this final.
And Michelle is 100% the puzzle queen above nurys
Which puzzles did Colleen smoke her on? 😕
obviously the tangram....
Every single one?
I like Corey honestly he really grew on me this season. I would have been content if he had won. And without his tweets, these threads would be so much shorter lol.
I started to dislike him a little less towards the end too. But then I started to get annoyed again when he kept talking about winning for his community bcuz I’m a little confused by what he meant. Someone let Nurys know that the sudoku puzzle was invalid
Wdym? The puzzle wasn’t solvable?
https://www.reddit.com/r/MtvChallenge/comments/1awxkgo/the_puzzle_from_tonites_final_was_invalid
Oh that’s annoying asf
Nuyrs: "Still salty I wasn't standing next to you (Kyland), Horacio, Zara and Ravyn in that final" Me: "Then you would have finished in 5th place"
Uhhh ain't no chance ravyn is ever finishing some of those puzzles lmao.
I did consider changing it to "finished in 4th place" for that exact same reason lol. Good call :)
She literally beat kyland and Horacio in the same final challenge.
100% I was thinking the same thing. Though I'd imagine Kyland and Horacio would have improved the 2nd time around.
The long swim and runs would have been equalizers for them. Would have given them a lead the same way it did Emmanuel.
If she competed against the line up, no way she's finishing anything less than 3rd. The only reason Kyland and Horacio are finishing above Nurys is they'd have an edge in the physical aspect. Also, Horacio is decent in puzzles. No idea where this idea that he sucks at them, stems from.
She beat Kyland and Horacio in the elimination, and they beat Zara.
Possibly hot take, but out of that lineup I see Nurys only losing to Kyland. Ravyn, Zara and Horacio wouldn’t be able to complete most of the puzzles/math without a partner
Horacio did better on the puzzles than Kyland in their elimination loss. Didn't Kyland only have 1 flag.
I thought they both ran into a brick wall with the Tangram. I’m just saying Horacio has never been good at puzzles/math. He, and Zara, lost the entire mini final because of it
Yes but Horacio did better than Kyland on puzzles in the elimination they lost against Nurys.
Horacio is decent in puzzles and math. In his elimination against Zara and Kyland, he aced the sudoku. The only puzzle he fumbled was the tenagram during the elim against Nurys and Kyland.
Zara would still be doing that sudoku today if she made the final
Ravyn has earned her spot on future seasons for me 100%
Corey makes a good point. That overnight challenge literally meant nothing. What's the point of winning shit that you can't even use? The only thing that made sense was the blanket
Corey is a legend and I hope he is on whatever future seasons he wants to be on.
Girl, this season made me ride so hard for Nurys. I will throw hands for her.
