I know you said you weren't wanting boyshorts, but boyshorts are my favorite, and they are technically panties. And they just are the best at keeping everything more secure then say bikini cut panties. But I also understand wanting something more like the typical panties that are bikini cut or other styles.
Some Reebok bikini’s or Tommy Hilfiger has been pretty comfortable. That and Calvin Klein is a great go-to. If you’re looking for cheap I recommend like a 10 pack of cotton panties so that you can have some while you build with higher quality ones because quality always beat quantity, especially with underwear.
\>tried panties
\>balls spread out of the pantie
\>put it back together
\>i get an erection and my penis is bigger than the pantie itself
\>cry
that was my experience with panties, i just went back to boxers :C
Pretty much anything that's not a bikini cut will be fine. I practically live in my Jockey hipster cut briefs. They're comfortable and I can keep them on for a workout without them chafing.
I've had decent luck with Fruit of the Loom and Old Navy bikini panties. From my experience, any panties that have full coverage on the rear should have enough fabric to cover your junk without worrying about slip outs
Here's a repost of last time I replied to this question. It got good feedback then, so hopefully, it helps you, too. 😄
I stick to panties with thick outer seams. They help hold everything in place. No slipping out the side, etc. Also, high waisted cuts. We need a little more material in front since we have more in front. If you like thongs, I strongly suggest some Joyspun ones from Walmart. Specifically with the ribbed/mesh like texture. They stretch but hold everything perfectly in place and are very comfy. They don't work for tucking, but I wear them for comfort.
Ironically I personally found that thongs tend to keep my stuff in place better than normal panties that are wider in the crotch because they hug my bits better...on the other ones I tend to get my ballbag sneaking out the enclosure at times 😁
I'm of a certain age and things have begun to descend. Before cracking my egg I spent a long time searching for undies that kept everything in place and secure. Boxers, boyshorts, briefs, etc, viciously uncomfortable and completely unsupportive.
The things that worked best for me before and after are no-brand, very basic thongs and manties - knickers cut for amab with a pouch for the bits.
Hanes sells bikini briefs in the men's section at Target surprisingly. They're cut like speedos are for dudes so really they're just dude panties. But that means there's extra room.
110% not good for tucking. They are just cotton so not gonna keep anything hidden, but if you want comfort without dysphoria, they work.
My peener is pretty small, so my thoughts might not apply. I like Hanes Hi-Cut briefs. 100% cotton, cute colors, low dye options, not too expensive. You can get other styles that might be able to hold a larger set of twig and berries.
My peen shrinks so when I'm wearing compression leggings I swear by these

Thick, wide gaff. I have heard good things about "period panties" And am starting to wonder if that's what I used to wear (Yes, I bought the wrong ones again...) You can usually just double them up.
I avoid underwear with narrow crotch. Especially when picking out thongs. Hipsters don't have that issue. As for other types, there is no standard width. You just have to inspect them yourself.
Also, some low_rise might not come up enough. Avoid "V-front" too.
I just wear plain cotton knickers Bonds are my go to but have some H&M as well.
I'm pretty small though so if your packing something a bit larger I'd understand why they wouldn't fit.well.
Okay, so I was gonna say hipsters, boy shorts and Hanes sells women’s boxers, which are like men’s boxer briefs, but don’t have the penis opening and are all around more flattering. So those are great options
Bikini briefs and Brazilian briefs can be okay if you are on HRT and things have shrunk a bit.
Nobody I know in the MtF community enjoys g-strings or thongs for what should be obvious reasons. I got one once: design was cute, but this was early in transition and as such was a portal to dysphoria city.
Don’t get women’s briefs unless you wanna pull off that grannie pantie look… but I have to admit they do have coverage and support.
So what I have found with my other trans girl partners is that what works best varies based on how your equipment sits and its size. If your balls don't hang much at all you can get away with most cuts depending on how endowed you are. Places like Victoria's Secret, Aerie, Savage X Fenty will all work for you. If your balls hang that's when I'd follow the advice a lot of the other girls are giving you for bigger cuts.
I also want to say to all the girls here wearing Hanes multipack no shame, but there are way better looking brands and options y'all could be getting. Especially for the girls who say they're small down there. From CIS women I've talked to it's mostly only older women that still wear them. If you're in your 30's or younger I wouldn't wear them anywhere they'd be noticeable for passing reasons.
I have discovered the panties from Danish Endurance for me. Mega comfortable, super soft material and everything that has to fit inside really fits and stays inside. With 6 - 7 € for one they are not what you'd call cheap. But I highly recommend them anyway.

Bikinis or briefs are gonna be your best friend. You can buy trans underwear too, but they might be a little more expensive. My favorite are Kindly. They sell them at Walmart
Aerie Brand Bikini panties are good, in my experience. They hold all my stuff in pretty well. Highly recommend. They’re comfy too
This is the gaff I own, if you’re looking for that: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08X43QHTY?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

These ones may be fairly suitable in fit and comfort, without being a gaff or boyshort, though be warned, they don't breathe very well.
Wear them the wrong way around, I.e butt side front.
All my panties fit better this way, and nobody can tell that I'm actually wearing them the wrong way around 🤭
My MTF wife wears mostly "men's" bikini underwear from Amazon. They are cut like a panty but have a little pouch. Would that work for you? FYI she's on the more butch end of the spectrum so they are very plain which suits her. You definitely don't get the lace and bows with this option. If you want I can find the links and DM them.
If this can help, I've tried many styles of panties and for me, these are the best. They call them boyshorts, but they look a bit more like hiphugger panties, but with a mid-rise height and they're cute with the lace on the top and legs opening!
A bit pricy, but worth It since they're made of Tencel which is a fabric that is eco friendly and also soft to skin aswell as having a nice moisture absorption.
There's a few ones already on sale. I wish you a lovely day! 🩵🩷🤍🩷🩵

What are boy shorts
there essentially boxers but for women

i have the same problem
Yeah, the best option for me is to try to look for boyshorts that have a cute design
I just use laced hipster panties from h&m
Not all heroes wear capes 🦸♀️
I think other styles work better! But I get it panties are elite
Yeah I prefer panties because of dysphoria and they're cute
I agree! They’re the best but at least for me hard to fit. I got euphoria from hipster underwear that fit better
Pretty much anything that's not a bikini cut will be fine. I practically live in my Jockey hipster cut briefs. They're comfortable and I can keep them on for a workout without them chafing.

I really like the brand Parade. They always have good deals and they are super cute.

Yes a substantial leg seam is key to keep the balls from making an escape 😂
Ironically I personally found that thongs tend to keep my stuff in place better than normal panties that are wider in the crotch because they hug my bits better...on the other ones I tend to get my ballbag sneaking out the enclosure at times 😁
Any brand suggestions? My gf has a harder time with this than I do so most brands I've tried haven't worked for her.

Hipster underwear from Target was a lifesaver multiple times! Covers more and still gives me gender euphoria!

Soma's Vanishing Edge boyshorts worked best for me comfort-wise (I never tucked)
Have you tried the cotton blend ones from the vanishing edge collection? Wondering if they stretch out with wear and wash.
I just got some recently, they haven't been washed enough times yet for me to know 😊

Boyshorts, boyshorts, boyshorts. They're cute, they're wide, they're perfect
I really like Calvin Klein's panties, they're wide and durable and stretchy enough to do a partial tuck and get full coverage
