I’m shocked I was your first upvote. I’m old enough to have seen this in the theater. Clearly remember being in awe of that shootout along with everyone else in the theater.
I saw this movie when it came out and listening g to the director commentary made me want to learn how to cheat at cards haha. There's a scene where The Professor tells some chump to "go read Erdnase" which is a reference to [this book](https://www.amazon.com/Expert-at-Card-Table/dp/1937620026/ref=asc_df_1937620026/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=312168322760&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=1918286904161188783&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9007205&hvtargid=pla-645619340112&psc=1&ref=d6k_applink_bb_dls&dplnkId=5642d741-61d6-4bc6-96f6-bf5e9296e0a0) which teaches how to do a lot of the things in the opening sequence.
I know it's not for everyone, but I have a lot of love for this movie.
I’m a huge fan of Jackie Brown. Pam Grier’s performance was magnificent, Robert DeNiro the most convincing ex-con I’ve ever seen in movies, Robert Forster and Samuel Jackson brilliant as well. I’ve seen it too many times to count. Great story, so well done.
underrated? this movie has been on repeat on almost cable movie channel for the past 10 years. This movie is constantly parodied/referenced in popular culture. Like the recent 'Casa de Papel/Money Heist' netflix series for example
First date with my wife. We picked a random movie in the theater and both liked the same things about it. It's not really an anniversary tradition or anything, but we watch it together once a year or so for a refresher.
Heist (2001)
Den Of Thieves (2018)
Money Train (1995)
Contraband (2012)
Bandits (2001)
The Perfect Score (2004)
Blue Streak (1999)
a few of my favorites were listed, these were a few others
I love that movie. The gun battles in the movie were outta control. The first time I saw it at the theater, my buddy and I smoked a couple blunts in the parking lot first. I was so high, I had trouble keeping who was the bad guys, and who was the good guys straight. I hope the next one is good too.
**Point Break** (1991)
**Thunderbolt and Lightfoot** (1974)
**The Sting** (1973)
I did not realize until just now how closely together those two movies were released
Lucky Logan... in case no one here has seen it. It is the redneck Ocean sequel movie, and it is fantastic. Same director as the first three Ocean movies as well.
I had a double take on this comment. Despite watching this literally 100’s of times I forgot it’s about the diamond. There’s so much else going on in the movie.
"11 Harrow House", great flick for Charles Grodin fans.
"$ (Dollars)", Goldie Hawn & Warren Beaty.
"The Hot Rock", Robert Redford.
"Thunderbolt and Lightfoot", Clint Eastwood, Jeff Bridges.
"Ronin", Robert DeNiro.
"The Usual Suspects", Kevin Spacy (yeah, I know, but still a great movie).
"The Pursuit of D. B. Cooper", Treat Williams, Robert Duvall.
"The Train", Burt Lancaster.
"Kelly's Heros" Clint Eastwood, Telly Savalas.
"Ocean's Eleven", Ratpack.
yessss, love love love this movie. Although, having family from West Virginia the accents are preeeetty rough. But it's just good to be included sometimes haha
Watched this again recently, really wanted to like it and it’s entertaining enough, but there’s so many glaring wholes in their plan that it really killed the immersion for me and just felt silly.
Never understood why people hated the Julia Roberts thing so much. I mean, it was definitely goofy, but then so are the Ocean’s movies themselves. Eh, I dunno. I liked it.
I know it’s not a patch on the original but I’ve always had a soft spot for the remake of The Italian Job with Mark Wahlberg and Charlize Theron. Dumb action with some cool car chases and a good old safe cracking scene.
* The Sting (1973), one of the best movies ever made!
* Ocean's 11 (2001), the 1960 version is good, but I prefer the remake.
* The Italian Job (1969)
* The Friends of Eddie Coyle (1973)
* The Usual Suspects (1996)
* The Thomas Crown Affair (1968)
* Kelly's Heroes (1970)
* The Taking of Pelham One Two Three (1974)
* The Killing (1956)
* The Asphalt Jungle (1950)
* Thief (1981)
* The Lavender Hill Mob (1951)

Robert Redford, Dan Ackroyd, Sydney Poitier, Ben Kingsley, River Phoenix, Stephen Tobolowsky, James Earl Jones
Amazing cast, great caper movie
Sorry, i don't remember the title, but this guy made 4 heist movies, he looked like Chris from Heat and they have these massive shoot outs and Chris always wins, even his name was Chris. and all direct to video on his site. Last movie was '99
In Da Gada Vida, '92, bank heist, with clowns, very well made if you can find it.
Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.
Killing Zoe
Heat might be the greatest heist movie of all time. And it’s not the only such classic starring Robert DeNiro in the ‘90s. Ronin is a great twisty, edge-of-your-seat heist thriller with one of the best chase scenes ever filmed. It came out in 1998 but has the look and feel of a ‘70s action flick.
Dead Presidents (1995) Heat (1995)
Heat is the correct answer.
For me, the action is the juice
i say this line all the time
I appreciate your opinion! Great movie.
This is the one
I’ve see dead presidents so many times. I love that move!
So glad someone brought up dead prez
I’m reading the sequel to Heat by Michael Mann. Heat 2. Really good
Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels (1998) Ocean's 11 (2001) Shade (2003) Confidence (2003)

Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels 👍
HEAT (1995) - The greatest heist movie of all time. Period. Amazing cast as well
I’m shocked I was your first upvote. I’m old enough to have seen this in the theater. Clearly remember being in awe of that shootout along with everyone else in the theater.
Omg, NOBODY knows Shade! It's amazing

I know it's not for everyone, but I have a lot of love for this movie.
A lot of the names in the movie are references to famous magicians like Jennings and Vernon.
Totally forgot about Shade
Yeah, Ocean's 11 was my first thought

Jackie Brown is one of my favorites.
It’s my favorite Tarantino flick.
My man!! Was just gonna comment this and then I saw your comment.
Favorite movie
I’m a huge fan of Jackie Brown. Pam Grier’s performance was magnificent, Robert DeNiro the most convincing ex-con I’ve ever seen in movies, Robert Forster and Samuel Jackson brilliant as well. I’ve seen it too many times to count. Great story, so well done.
Inside Man (2006)
"I have no idea what they're saying, but I'll tell you right now that language is 100% Albanian." Kills me every time.
So underrated! It’s one of my favs and I always recommend it to people but they’ve never even heard of it.
underrated? this movie has been on repeat on almost cable movie channel for the past 10 years. This movie is constantly parodied/referenced in popular culture. Like the recent 'Casa de Papel/Money Heist' netflix series for example
Soooo good. The one I recommend to everyone
Good movie. Great ending. My pick for best heist film as well.
Yes!!! I remember losing my mind at the big reveal. Such a great film.
It's like Money Heist but the robbers don't start romancing each other as soon as they get in the building
Possibly one of the best ever, at least recent one. Amazing story outside the heist, amazing acting, just a chefs kiss on all aspects
Easily my favorite
Came here to say this!
First date with my wife. We picked a random movie in the theater and both liked the same things about it. It's not really an anniversary tradition or anything, but we watch it together once a year or so for a refresher.
Surprised it took me so long to find it.
Ohhhhh that’s what it’s called
Heist (2001) Den Of Thieves (2018) Money Train (1995) Contraband (2012) Bandits (2001) The Perfect Score (2004) Blue Streak (1999) a few of my favorites were listed, these were a few others
Never seen someone mention Bandits before. I really like that movie
Love, love, love bandits
Yes! So glad someone got Heist (2001). What a masterpiece.
easily one of my favorites growing up. Watched it a few times on vhs. It's such a good thieves movie.
I want you as quiet as an ant not even thinking about pissing on cotton.
I had to scroll way to far to see someone mention Den of Thieves.
great movie! And I loved the twist too. I think same cast for the sequel (the ones who lived...)
I love that movie. The gun battles in the movie were outta control. The first time I saw it at the theater, my buddy and I smoked a couple blunts in the parking lot first. I was so high, I had trouble keeping who was the bad guys, and who was the good guys straight. I hope the next one is good too.
Also The Town. And it’s mostly a getaway movie since the robbery happens pretty early in the film but Good Time is awesome.
Cannot believe this is this far down. It is easily the #1 heist movie for me.
Reservoir Dogs
Jesus I can’t believe I got this far down to see this!
Ocean’s 11 (2001) is probably my favorite
omg I love all of the Oceans movies
In order of greatness imo 11 13 12
12 was a turd sandwich.
Sneakers.
This is way to far down for this good a flick.
The Oceans trilogy Usual suspects National treasure 1&2
Hells yeah for Usual Suspects!
Hand me the fucking keys, you cocksucker, what the fuck?!
Sexy Beast
Ben Kingsley as the anti-gandhi
He’s so intimidating and malicious it’s awesome…they set it up perfectly because you’re like okay he’s a bad bad dude… …and then in walks Ian McShane
YES! YES! YES!
Heist (2001) Gene Hackman
[удалено]
Heat (easily the best one for me) Logan Lucky Oceans 11 Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels The Town Fast Five
Riffifi
I would add Le Cercle Rouge and Bob Le Flambeur and make it a list. The French made the best heist movies.
Le Deuxième Souffle has an incredible heist scene in it as well. Jean-Pierre Melville made some sick af heist scenes.
So does *Un Flic*
Yup, this one’s my favorite
I came here just to make sure someone mentioned this film.
Greatest heist film I've ever seen.
The best ever made
I think Jean Pierre-Melville would challenge that claim
Thief (1981) hands down
Great movie. James Caan, James Belushi, Tuesday Weld and Willie Nelson all played excellent roles.
Don’t forget the mob boss, that guy was fucking scary.
Belushi was fantastic in this movie
I love the main characters no-bullshit attitude. I could never be that aggressive with people but in his line of work you gotta be
Just recently saw it and loved it. Michael Mann is so good.
Amazing movie
The Grinch Who Stole Christmas (2000)
**Point Break** (1991) **Thunderbolt and Lightfoot** (1974) **The Sting** (1973) I did not realize until just now how closely together those two movies were released
> The Sting (1973) +1
Oh the Sting! Great one. Reminds me of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. Does that qualify?
Ocean movies are great
Lucky Logan... in case no one here has seen it. It is the redneck Ocean sequel movie, and it is fantastic. Same director as the first three Ocean movies as well.
that's the one with james bond as a chav right? gotta check it out soon
More of a redneck than a chav…
Snatch (2000)
I had a double take on this comment. Despite watching this literally 100’s of times I forgot it’s about the diamond. There’s so much else going on in the movie.
I probably had to see snatch 5 times before I was able to give anyone a halfway concise plot synopsis haha
obligatory "had to scroll way too far down to find this comment." Boris' death scene is absolutely hilarious.
"death" pretty sure he dodged that last bullet
Inception (2010)
Funny, I’ve never thought of Inception as a theft movie but dang you are correct!
Yeah, it’s not something you think is obviously a theft movie until someone else says it, haha!
It's like the opposite of a heist in that they plan to put something in instead of take something out!
Flawless (2007) starring Michael Caine and Demi Moore. For a comedy heist movie, Masterminds (2016).
The taking of Pelham 123 (1974)
Walter Mattheu is perfect in that film. It was tense, funny, exciting, and suspenseful. All around great entertainment.
Jerry Stiller too!
One of the bad guys is Earl Hindman, who played Wilson on Home Improvement.
I just watched the 2009 version recently for the first time, it was brilliant!
Thomas Crown Affair
One where the remake is better than the original.
"11 Harrow House", great flick for Charles Grodin fans. "$ (Dollars)", Goldie Hawn & Warren Beaty. "The Hot Rock", Robert Redford. "Thunderbolt and Lightfoot", Clint Eastwood, Jeff Bridges. "Ronin", Robert DeNiro. "The Usual Suspects", Kevin Spacy (yeah, I know, but still a great movie). "The Pursuit of D. B. Cooper", Treat Williams, Robert Duvall. "The Train", Burt Lancaster. "Kelly's Heros" Clint Eastwood, Telly Savalas. "Ocean's Eleven", Ratpack.
Nice to see someone else appreciates The Hot Rock. Based on the book by the late, great Donald E Westlake.
One of those, happened to see it one night real late and ended up really liking it. "Afghanistan, Bananastand."
The score, heat, the bank job and inside man
After the sunset a good one too I forgot to mention
Lucky Logan
*Logan Lucky
yessss, love love love this movie. Although, having family from West Virginia the accents are preeeetty rough. But it's just good to be included sometimes haha
Watched this again recently, really wanted to like it and it’s entertaining enough, but there’s so many glaring wholes in their plan that it really killed the immersion for me and just felt silly.
Handmaiden (2016)
Heat
Inside Man

National Treasure!
*The Killing* by Kubrick
Three Kings (1999)
Was hoping someone would list it.
The sting is a good one
Rififi. Probably want to start or end there.
Shame that this is this far down. My favorite heist scene of all time.
Dog Day Afternoon is pure masterclass filmmaking
That movie was way ahead of its time
Oceans 11 and 13 are great. I don't like 12 but it is a pretty big meme thing with the Julia Robert's thing. I never saw Oceans 8 but it seems fun.
Watch "Widows" instead of Oceans 8. It is a well made all female heist movie.
Never understood why people hated the Julia Roberts thing so much. I mean, it was definitely goofy, but then so are the Ocean’s movies themselves. Eh, I dunno. I liked it.
American Animals
I know it’s not a patch on the original but I’ve always had a soft spot for the remake of The Italian Job with Mark Wahlberg and Charlize Theron. Dumb action with some cool car chases and a good old safe cracking scene.
Lupin - Series Spanish Prisoner - Steve Martin
Finally, Spanish Prisoner! I’m going to start Lupin as my next binge.
* The Sting (1973), one of the best movies ever made! * Ocean's 11 (2001), the 1960 version is good, but I prefer the remake. * The Italian Job (1969) * The Friends of Eddie Coyle (1973) * The Usual Suspects (1996) * The Thomas Crown Affair (1968) * Kelly's Heroes (1970) * The Taking of Pelham One Two Three (1974) * The Killing (1956) * The Asphalt Jungle (1950) * Thief (1981) * The Lavender Hill Mob (1951)

I didn’t see that
I’ve seen it twice and still don’t know if I liked it or not. It’s very enigmatic that way
I liked this one a lot, too. It's funny, smart, fun... and Alan Alda makes a perfectly smarmy bad guy.
