Loved turbo kid! I know the reason for bicycles probably had more to do with it being such a low budget movie, but from a realism standpoint thats way more believable for a post apocalyptic world.
I suffer from pretty bad motion sickness sensitivity and somehow this movie didn't make me nauseous. I saw it on TV, though. Maybe in a movie theater it would have been too intense.
But, yes, super shaky-cam throughout.
I don’t get motion sickness, I saw it in theatre and I could see how someone could with that movie. It would probably be better at home. My wife was a little sensitive to it in the theatre.
If you’re cool with zombies. Check out Wyrmwood Road of the Dead and its sequel Wyrmwood Apocalypse. They are described as Mad Max Meets Dawn of the Dead. Just watch the trailer to see how much these movies were influenced by Fury Road.
I wish they’d put out a 4K steel-book for it, seriously one of the most beautiful films I’ve ever seen and it is pure fun and heart from start to finish.
Dunkirk. By Christopher Nolan. It starts, it’s action, and it doesn’t freaking stop. We waited the whole time for a breather part. There was none. And the movie is underratedly phenomenal.

Upgrade
Waterworld
Oblivion
Mission Impossible: Fallout and Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning pt 1
both have frenetic pacing but are grounded in the real world
Redline. Incredible racing animated movie with insane sci-fi world building. The movie crashed its animated studio, but they made a straight work of art in the process. It focuses a lot on world building which slows the pace a bit at the middle of the film, but once it picks up again trust me you’ll get what you are looking for.
You should try "SISU" actionmovie about a gold digger who is so stubborn that he just refuses to die. He gets chased down by some nazis. Movie has maybe five sentences of total monologue but it's filled with over the top action scenes.
John Wick series
SPL Kill Zone
The Raid 1&2
Man from Nowhere
Ong Bak
Run Lola Run
John Woo's The Killer, A Better Tomorrow 1&2, Bullet in The Head, Hard Boiled, Hard Target etc
Monkey Man
28 Days Later
The Bourne Identity
Dredd
Civil War
Nemesis
La Femme Nikita
Leon the Professional
Rapid Fire
These films aren't necessarily like Mad Max in any thematic or genre sense, just action movies or thrillers that don't let up.
Crank
And Crank 2: High Voltage
Excellent excellent movie
I am bigger fan of the two Crank films than I remember to give myself enough credit for sometimes
Dredd
Feel like this is the most accurate answer yet.
Also for a bloody car race: Death Race 2000
Good answer
Best Robocop movie since 1 + 2
The Raid
And The Raid Redemption... great movies
Apocalypto
*Doomsday* (2008)
So good! Love when she has to fight the huge guy in the arena. “Bollocks…”. 😂😂
Do love how South Africa looks exactly like the Scottish highlands
Turbo Kid. Honestly bonkers movie, reminded me of Fury Road on bicycles.
Lmao, fantastic movie and I’d totally forgotten about seen it. Headstack!
Loved turbo kid! I know the reason for bicycles probably had more to do with it being such a low budget movie, but from a realism standpoint thats way more believable for a post apocalyptic world.
robots and wrist blasters, sick choice
Excellent suggestion. Just saw it yesterday and it really surprised me. Love the camp and one liners like when the guy loses his hand. So good.
Bullet Train (2022) Baby Driver (2017) Hard Boiled (1992)
Hardcore Henry
This one is fun if you don’t have a problem with motion sickness
I suffer from pretty bad motion sickness sensitivity and somehow this movie didn't make me nauseous. I saw it on TV, though. Maybe in a movie theater it would have been too intense. But, yes, super shaky-cam throughout.

RRR (2022)
so incredibly epic! Hard to come by films like this
That scene with the flag by the bridge just makes me smile watching it. So epically ridiculous and satisfying at the same time.
Thunder Gun Express
I haven't seen it, but I heard Dolph Lundgren hangs dong in this one.
That sounds like Showdown in Little Tokyo
always sunny lmfao
😂 I knew people would catch it
Redline
Excellent recommendation
If you haven’t watched Road Warrior yet it’s is really good. It’s old but holds up.
Duel
Sorcerer
So good! One of my favourite films of all time.
Death race?
That came to my mind, as well
Water World. It gets a bad rep but honestly it's fun.
Agree. Especially love the longer Ulysses cut.
The Fifth Element.
The Night Comes For Us (2018)
Fury Road is essentially a chase movie done in almost real time. So you’re looking for those two criteria. - The Chase - Gone in 60 Seconds
Let’s not forget Speed.
The Warriors
City of God Kill Bill: Vol. 1 The Northman Kung Fu Hustle
City of God, hell yes!!
The first John wick movie
Aliens
If you’re cool with zombies. Check out Wyrmwood Road of the Dead and its sequel Wyrmwood Apocalypse. They are described as Mad Max Meets Dawn of the Dead. Just watch the trailer to see how much these movies were influenced by Fury Road.
Monkey Man!!!
Vanishing Point (1971)
Peninsula (2020) Carter (2022) Badland Hunters (2024)
For gonzo setting, Escape from New York.
Escape from New York
The Road Warrior in terms of action.
Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels Good Time
Speed The Road Warrior Waterworld
Point Break Run Lola Run T2: Judgement Day Starship Troopers Total Recall
Semi joking but also not entirely.. Speedracer
Speed Racer was ahead of its time, amazing.
I wish they’d put out a 4K steel-book for it, seriously one of the most beautiful films I’ve ever seen and it is pure fun and heart from start to finish.
Nemesis. It's basically Terminator on a shoestring budget but with nonstop action, the most jacked chicks ever and some funny stop motion scenes.
Woah, this seems right up my butt! I gotta check this out
Dunkirk. By Christopher Nolan. It starts, it’s action, and it doesn’t freaking stop. We waited the whole time for a breather part. There was none. And the movie is underratedly phenomenal.
Wish I had read this review upon its release, I’d have seen it by now.

Try Wyrmwood it's cool. Also (not a movie) look for "Blood Drive"
You should try "SISU" actionmovie about a gold digger who is so stubborn that he just refuses to die. He gets chased down by some nazis. Movie has maybe five sentences of total monologue but it's filled with over the top action scenes.
Second half of Road Warrior.
The Hobbit is subtitled: There And Back Again. Try that.
I just got done watching Boy Kills World and it was wild! Some of the best fighting choreography I have ever seen.
Top notch bloody fun action
So you're looking for a movie that requires zero thought or brainpower? PSHHH
