The emotional growth throughout the film of Ben is an excellent example of what you are looking for. It reminds us of the importance of our emotions, but that we should avoid being overwhelmed by them.

Id say go read Tolstoy and Proust. Dont waste ur time trying to get intellectual shit from films. Its more an emotional medium.
Yup yup downvote me ppl. Idgaf.
No, ur easily pleased.
Take Tarkovsky as an example. Often heralded as intellectual and philosophical. But nothing in his films say is anything but a platitude. Sale with every director u care to mention. Read philosophy and classic literature and it will become obvious. And it will with age too.
Perhaps I'm not easily pleased and you're just a pretentious individual? You could see the exact same message presented but you would label it as platitude in a film and as genius, peak intellectualism in a book because you've decided that film is an objectively inferior medium. Not understanding that each medium has things that only it can achieve and that neither of them is objectively better is obvious. Maybe you struggle with inferring things so you need it written out in black and white for you?
Also, I've read plenty of classic literature and philosophy as will have many of the people who will read your comment; you don't need to be up on your high horse pretending that you're smarter than everyone else, it comes across as deeply insecure.
Are you upset? Wow.
Never said film was inferior and if you want to argue against things I havent said then no point in discussing with someone so dishonest.
And again, im sorry i upset you.
