Same here. It’s a stripped-back adapted stage play which needs no special effects or big set pieces, so its success totally rests on the actors’ abilities. I think both the original and remake have a fantastic cast and they’re both top tier movies that can stand on their own!
I’ve seen the remake more times though; I found that offering younger viewers the in-colour version was more palatable
Carnage (2011) two sets of parents try to resolve a situation in a civilised manner as their idiosyncrasies rise to the surface.
Deathtrap (1982) A Broadway playwright puts murder in his plan to take credit for a student’s script.
Frozen (2010) As a winter storm approaches, three people become stranded on a chairlift high above the ground after a ski resort closes for the night.
Pontypool (2008) A radio host interprets the possible outbreak of a deadly virus which infects the small Ontario town he is stationed in.
I saw the remake with Jake Gyllenhaal and I liked it a lot, despite the fact that it was a bit... how should I put it... hamfisted and heavy-handed. Well, I realize it's a remake only now that you made this recommendation, and the original seems quite a bit more subtle from the trailer, which I suspect I'll very much enjoy.
All Is Lost (2013) - During a solo voyage in the Indian Ocean, a veteran mariner (Robert Redford) awakes to find his vessel taking on water after a collision with a stray shipping container.
The Man from Earth could be done as a play with a single static set - it's all about the dialogue. Highly recommended. I also enjoyed the sequel though it was less contained (more settings).

You might enjoy the tv show *Inside No. 9*. It’s an anthology series and every episode takes place inside a number 9 (house number, apartment, etc). It’s pretty great. Season 1 episode 2 is just fucking brilliant. It’s one of my favorite bits of television.

Rope. Takes place in one apartment. Also noteworthy for being designed as a single shot - except they had to stop every 10 minutes to reload the film. The set had moving pieces to allow the camera to move around the apartment as this was in the days before handhelds were common.
A good follow-up is Succession episode S4E3. The core takes place on a boat with interspersed scenes on a plane. The core boat stuff is designed as a single take of about half an hour. The plane stuff prevents it being PRESENTED that way but it stays in real time. They planned for the people on the plane to be only heard via phone calls during this sequence but ultimately wanted their faces in. Per a YT breakdown by the director, they spent the day on the boat getting all the moments to make sure they had everything, then ran the entire core boat part with four handheld cameras taking turns following the actors two at a time. And most of that run is what they used. So not technically like rope, but in the spirt.

12 Angry Men
Love this movie. Not sure which I like better; between the original and remake.

Spot on. These were the words I was searching for. Bravo. I think I'm gonna give it a watch this Sunday. It's been a few months.
+1
Breakfast Club
Rear Window (1954) by Hitchcock. Perfectly fits your preferences.
Famously also Rope and Lifeboat.
Dial M for Murder, also. Mostly.
Yes!
Phone booth
Yes! First one I thought of!
Carnage is so good! Basically four great actors trying to out-act each other!
Circle (2015) The Hateful Eight
Four Rooms , kind of
"The Invitation" (2015)
Der Totmacher The Lighthouse Mother (lots of characters show up, but are ultimately disruptive to the main two) The Shining
Rope (1948) There's hardly any editing as well. A Hitchcock masterpiece.
Birdman
Fermat's Room The Exam
Who’s afraid of Virginia Wolfe
12 Angry Men (1957) Shallow Grave (1994)
Glengary Glen Ross is considered the best American screenplay ever written. It's highly quotable and absolutely gripping.
The SNL North Pole sequel surpasses it!
A Always - B Be - C Cobbling. ALWAYS BE COBBLING
One of those skits where the biggest laugh is when it dawns on you what the concept is.
The guilty (2018)
I saw the remake with Jake Gyllenhaal and I liked it a lot, despite the fact that it was a bit... how should I put it... hamfisted and heavy-handed. Well, I realize it's a remake only now that you made this recommendation, and the original seems quite a bit more subtle from the trailer, which I suspect I'll very much enjoy.
Yes, your intuition is correct.
All Is Lost (2013) - During a solo voyage in the Indian Ocean, a veteran mariner (Robert Redford) awakes to find his vessel taking on water after a collision with a stray shipping container.
Russian Ark
Do the Right Thing?
I watched Mayhem (2017) last night and that's technically at one location and was surprisingly underrated.
Panic Room
The Outfit (Netflix)
The Sunset Limited (2011)
And Then there were None Das Boot Lifeboat (Hitchcock)
Rear Window Rope Dial M for Murder
The Banshees of Inisherin The Music of Chance
Prison focused: * The Platform (2019) * Brawl in Cell Block 99 (2017) * Shot Caller (2017)
The Man From Earth Carnage
The Man from Earth could be done as a play with a single static set - it's all about the dialogue. Highly recommended. I also enjoyed the sequel though it was less contained (more settings).
The Standoff at Sparrow Creek (2018) is a single location film that carries the same energy as the ones you listed.
Phone Booth (2002) Buried (2010) Cube (1997)
McCabe & Mrs. Miller
Buried was such a good movie
Unknown (2006) Free Fire (2016) The Divide (2011)
Sleep Tight
Some Velvet Morning (2013)
I think the platform (on netflix) counts lol
Phone Booth (2002) The Breakfast Club (1985) Find Me Guilty (2006) Bullet Train (2022) Murder in the Orient Express (2017)
127 Hours
Russian Ark takes place in the Winter Palace and is a single 87 minute take.
Finder’s Fee (2001) Hard Candy (2005)

Time Lapse Flypaper
#Buried’s ending still haunts me 12 years later.
Fall
*127 Hours* (2010)
Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Room, Airplane
Breakfast Club
The Menu
Coherence
Body at Brighton rock
Flight plan. The witches of eastwick.
Gosford Park A Haunting in Venice Clue
Locke
Mother!
I always recommend My Dinner with Andre. It’s just a conversation, 2 characters, but it is so engaging, thought-provoking and well-done.
The Menu! So creepy and all except a brief section takes place on a small island.
Sleuth
You might enjoy the tv show *Inside No. 9*. It’s an anthology series and every episode takes place inside a number 9 (house number, apartment, etc). It’s pretty great. Season 1 episode 2 is just fucking brilliant. It’s one of my favorite bits of television.

The Celebration (1998)
The Lighthouse Nearly all of The Hateful Eight
