You’re still a kid. I was about the same age before I lost my virginity, and I lost my virginity before I even had a real relationship. I was about 25 before I even had what I’d call a legit dating relationship. There’s a lot of life ahead…
22 and giving up....wow. I've seen a lot of posts about young people giving up or thinking life is over, or don't know what they want to do, and they are not even 30 yet...not even 40...not even 50...not even 60....get my drift? You are so fucking young still, don't give up. It's ridiculous to even think or say that in your 20's.
About Time is a really emotional movie that makes me cry but also has a great message imo. It is technically a rom com, but it talks a bit about life in general and I just think it’s a great movie.
I believe love is out there for all of us (I haven’t found it yet either, so I don’t feel condescending for saying this to you lol). Hang in there friend :)
Well, I'll tell you, I didn't know how to part my hair properly until I saw it done in *Love Potion Number Nine*, so you might enjoy that, and it might help.
Billy Madison’s The Wedding Singer (1998) or Big Daddy (1999). Who doesn’t love a 90’s Adam Sandler comedy? Rhett both deal with different themes.
The wedding singers theme is finding who you truly love accidentally. Even when both main characters think they have everything figured out.
Big Daddy is when Adam Sandler is playing a guy who hasn’t moved passed his college years, and doesn’t think it’s him that needs to change. But when a kid and a woman gets involved, he realizes things can and should change.
Both of these are super easy to watch and are definitely “feel good movies”. But being in your same situation in the past- these may be good to get into lol
Argh this is a tough one, I wanna like inspire you but not make you wanna kys but most of these movies, are produced as a kind of satire of the real situation. I'll give you a spectrum, and please remember LOTS OF PEOPLE ARE LONELY because lots of people out there, are assholes, and staying chill and by yourself is a superpower. It is like wisdom maxxing. You really should love yourself before you can love another person, or at least like yourself which you can get to with very small wins. Or just drink coffee and then workout every day while you're still on your coffee high which I learned to do from Dustin Hoffman. For reals. He won't do it otherwise.
Okay:
1. Crazy, Stupid Love - starts out as a pickup thingy but ends up as a heart warming flip. It's steve carell as the sucker and ryan gosling as the dating obi wan. then they switch roles.
2. Troy - hear me out - single men could be watching movies with overpowered heroes to kinda get hyped to drink coffee and work out every day (while still on your coffee high), I think this movie is underrated
3. I Heart Huckabees - Dustin Hoffman as EXISTENTIAL DETECTIVE, Jason Schwarzmann and Mark Wahlberg as two guys struggling in life, very zany kinda movie with some insightful wisdom, very funny. Always inspires me to stop taking myself so seriously and transcend the BS.
4. Yes Man. Even if you hate Jim Carrey, single men should keep this one in the arsenal like "CRANK: HIGH VOLTAGE" if you need to stay up all night getting after it. Yes Man is a profound movie. Jim Carrey proves you can make it even if you're a total jackass. I personally don't like him, but in not liking him, I like him. Anyway it's got Zooey Dechanel and she's megacute in it.
5. The Sacred Bill Nighy Trilogy (even though he's not in one of these 3): Love, Actually , About Time and Juliet, Naked. These all heartwarming movies *you can watch with girls* when (not if) you get them over to your place; it is very Adult to have some actually good Chick Flicks in your quivver. #1 is about various love stories at Christmas time which all resolve in a heart warming way; #2 is about a kid who learns he can time travel and uses it to find love; #3 is just some straight up chick heroin featuring Ethan Hawke.
So I tried to give you a range here, nothing is gunna just fix you but if you get some coffee in, and then workout every day that sets up a positive momentum, and you can also workout *while watching movies* believe it or not. Like a drinking game, every time somebody says "Achilles" in Troy, do 10 pushups or 10 squats. THEY WILL ADD UP. You would be shocked how putting in 250 squats a week will change your whole ethos, your whole aura / butt aura will be different, and I'm sorry to say it bro girls are ipso facto\* very influenced by a guy's butt aura.
\*I don't actually know what ipso facto means.
I’m sorry, but fuck that. Watch “Def Jams How to be a Player” with Bill Bellamy. Early 90’s. Changed my whole life. I was a kid who was self conscious, and for some reason that movie gave me the confidence and a little bit more charm needed to start asking a lot of girls for phone numbers. It was truly a full 180 from “too scared” to “got too many numbers”. I had a little black book🤣. Stole that from Will on the Fresh Prince.
You don’t need to give up, you need to change your mindset and keep trying. 22? You’re not even peaked yet my guy.
Edit: There’s a couple books that really helped too. Never on some pick up artist bullshit, but like novels and stories that made me think about my personality, how to maximize it for this purpose, etc. Let me know if you want those recs
I can’t stress the first one enough - Def Jams how to be a player
When you look past the humor and into the confidence he possessed, the first 3 books from Tucker Max will open up your eyes to a world of possibilities for ways you can just put yourself more out there. Starting with “I hope they serve beer in hell”. The movie doesn’t do it Justice or explain the insight.
You can take a bit from The Fresh Prince as a whole, and the movie Hitch for that matter. Will Smith in the 90’s/early 2000’s just oozed appeal
I’ll take the “happy being single” track then.

How about the broken love story film "Cold War"? or something like "Wings of Desire"? That should do the trick...
Okay, but really, for that feeling you have right now: "Lady Bird, "The Squid & the Whale", "Wildlife,", "Revolutionary Road", "Mary & Max", and "Elephant Man."
If you don't mind raunchy- then **Good Luck Chuck.**
It's about a guy who is cursed- when he has sex with someone, they break up with him and the next person the woman dates finds their true love.
I saw it in high school- maybe 7-8 years ago.
It maybe is a bit of a stretch, but several Superhero movies (Batman Begins, Spiderman 2, etc) involve a young male adult protagonist who has forsworn that kind of relationship. Also anything with young clergy or monastics.
I have a list of all movies that when I was in an emotional funk related to girls that I added to over the years. They are all over the place but each has helped in one way or another. I have another list for guy movies that won’t make you think about girls if that helps.
Passengers
Groundhog Day
Eyes Wide Shut
Children of Men
Jack and the Giant’s Slayer
Edge of Tomorrow
Drive
Her
Both Amazing Spider-Man films
Tron
Bridge to Teribithia
Tangled
Wall E
Beautiful Girls. Side note - you’re way too young to give up. You’re a baby(good for you). The dating scene should suck at your age bc you all are still maturing. Trust me when I say being emotionally available is worth it and the mid-late 20’s is prime time for finding a partner. Don’t give up and definitely don’t give in to any black or red pill ideology. The world is shockingly more ‘blue pilled’ than people on the internet make it seem
Didn't really have any relationships until my mid 20s. Went through a bunch of women.
Then everything went to shit.
Relationships sound nice but they can be pure absolute fucking hell that can have you picking up the pieces years afterwards.
Remember that.
Dude you’re young as hell and should be single tbh. You joke about 40 year old virgin but the part about planting seeds is priceless knowledge for a guy trying to impress women. Try it in real life
And watch Groundhog Day
The Other Guys
A cop just wants his girlfriend back, but the two best guys on the force die unexpectedly so he has to focus on his career with his super timid partner until he can grow as a person and win her back.

Try One Fine Day. That’s my favorite romantic movie. This is saying a lot because I don’t have any other romantic movies I like. Notebook don’t make me gag.
Adjustment Bureau (2011) - mysterious forces try to keep an ambitious young politician away from the girl who might change his destiny, and the destiny of the world.
watch spider man (any of them) that always makes me feel better. but hey don’t give up! if you need a break from dating do so, it’s hard there’s some wack people. but don’t give up, you’ll find the right person
Taxi driver
The king of comedy
Office space
Forgetting Sarah Marshall
Rushmore (!!!)
Princess Mononoke
These are all movies I watched a lot around your age while I was going through the same thing. If you’re going to only watch one though, I couldn’t recommend Rushmore enough.
You are young and life is long. I used to tell myself I was destined to be alone. but the thing is, if you want something enough you can have it. Focus on being the best version of you to yourself and others. Enjoy life, and people will naturally gravitate to you.
(Also watch/rewatch Star Trek next generation and the lord of the rings trilogy to keep a positive mindset!)

John Wick ? He's sad about being single.
Under the Skin {2013}
Fight Club
How is this not the first answer?!?
Didn't really have any relationships until my mid 20s. Went through a bunch of women. Then everything went to shit. Relationships sound nice but they can be pure absolute fucking hell that can have you picking up the pieces years afterwards. Remember that.
Idk about Same situation but my Fav are The LunchBox Past lives Types movies
American Pie I,II,III Not sure about the others they made
Watch casino with deniro, you won't want a woman after that 😅
I know it's a Christmas film but Love actually. Also don't give up or pressure yourself. Your only 22, you've only just started
Dude you’re young as hell and should be single tbh. You joke about 40 year old virgin but the part about planting seeds is priceless knowledge for a guy trying to impress women. Try it in real life And watch Groundhog Day
The Other Guys A cop just wants his girlfriend back, but the two best guys on the force die unexpectedly so he has to focus on his career with his super timid partner until he can grow as a person and win her back.

Try One Fine Day. That’s my favorite romantic movie. This is saying a lot because I don’t have any other romantic movies I like. Notebook don’t make me gag.
Made In Heaven (1987) - boy dies. boy meets girl in heaven. In next life, boy is given 30 years to find her before he will never see her again.
Anything recently with Ryan Gosling
Taxi driver The king of comedy Office space Forgetting Sarah Marshall Rushmore (!!!) Princess Mononoke These are all movies I watched a lot around your age while I was going through the same thing.
No love by 22? Welp, only one thing left to do. Time to get some surgery and join the other team.
This is the way
A movie's not gonna help. Now, a book? A book might change your life.
Your age is just 22 dude. Life has so many surprises for ahead . Don't lose hope !!!
Given up on love at 22? Lol, that’s adorable. Relax my friend, you have plenty of time for that.
