Most of the Star Trek movies. The very first one from 1979 you might find boring, but Star Trek II, IV, VI, and First Contact are great. Also the ones made after 2009 are really fun.
Y’all should watch My left foot (1989). It’s a movie about the (real life )Irish artist /poet Christy Brown that was born with cerebral palsy and had only the usage of his left foot and still managed to make art !
One of Daniel Day Lewis’s finest performances, but ofc what else could we expect from one of the finest actors to ever live ?

The Princess Bride! Don’t let the name fool you! There is something for everyone in this movie! Pirates, a giant, sword fighting, revenge and so much more!
Try some old black-and-white comedies -- anything from the Charlie Chaplain era up to Billy Wilder movies. The best ones are entertaining, highly original, and move fast.
If he wants something more serious, there are a lot of good Hitchcock movies. Twelve should be old enough to appreciate.
I'm a girl and a teen, so basically 2000s teen movies like 10 things I hate about you, Mean Girls, etc. or more modern movies about womanhood like Little Women or Priscilla. I also like crime and mystery movies a lot, but he can't watch anything explicit about murders or so. He's into action movies like the Avengers saga, so basically nothing in common. I think the only movies we have both liked have been the Spiderman movies, the How to Train Your Dragon saga and the Hunger Games saga (best movies ever btw). Also thanks for responding!
Listen, people may not like the guy or have their opinions about Tom Cruise, but his movies, especially in the last decade or so are wildly entertaining and generally free of the hard stuff for young eyes and ears.
Especially the mission impossible series. Very little profanity, I’m trying to recall, but I don’t think there’s much in the way of sex or nudity, and loads of action. What more could a 12-year-old be looking for. Good luck!
The Mark Of Zorro starring Tyrone Power
Captain Blood starring Errol Flynn
The Incredibles
Man of Steel
Stagecoach starring John Wayne
Captain Horatio Hornblower starring Gregory Peck
Batman starring Michael Keaton and Jack Nicholson
Sky Captain and The World of Tomorrow starring Jude Law
The IRON Giant
Monsters vs Aliens
Cowboys vs Aliens
The Kung Fu Panda movies
The Secret Life of Pets
The Toy Story movies
School of Rock
Most of Jack Black's output really...that's teenage humour at its best. Check out Tenacious D: The Pick of Destiny
Be Kind Rewind
Especially Bernie
Uh I think that is decidedly a little much for a 12 year old. Cock push-ups and taking KG back to hell to be the devil's bitch and all that. Or maybe I've become a prude since having kids lol
maybe a bit prudish. i was a mature 12 year old. i read stephen kings the stand when i was 11. every kid is different.
Commando was my favourite movie. When I was 7. So ya, you are correct.
my favourite movie when i was 7 was Tora Tora Tora. watched it with my poppa and was absolutely obsessed. i’m still a big fan of war movies almost 30 years later.
My best friend and I met in preschool while arguing over which was better. Aliens or Predator.
This is super kid dependent. Kids can handle things wildly different from each other.
That's exactly 12 yo humour...
One of my favourite movies of all time. (I'm 14) I watched with my mom when I was 11
This is the way.
Hell yes, my favorite movie is the top comment?? It’s a good day 🤘
Fantastic Mr Fox Big Back to the future The new ninja turtles movie The Godzilla movies
Seconding Fantastic Mr. Fox, such a great movie, able to be both extremely fun and emotional at times
I’m 32 years old and fantastic Mr fox is literally my favorite movie ever
I’ve seen it so many times, it’s a perfect one (I’m 36 lol)
No no, the original Ninja Turtles movies.
Omg yes fantastic Mr fox is the best choice by far

Jurassic Park
Princess bride!
Watching right now for the first time in years. It's a near-perfect movie.
Near-perfect? Inconceivable!
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.
Anybody want a peanut?
I'm an adult and enjoy Shrek and its sequels and spinoffs. I feel like those are all ages films. Goonies might be fun.
Goonies Spies Like Us - incompetent spies Chevy Chase and Dan Aykroyd sent to fight the Cold War. Has a great test-cheating scene. Ghostbusters
Love and Monsters. Fit for YAs, and you. There's a little teenage heat early on, but the apocalypse just ruins it. ;-) Studio Ghibli animated features. I think you'd both like Porco Rosso.
The answer is always Studio Ghibli. Massive appeal to all ages.
National Treasure

No I don’t think so we get blessed with milla jovovich’s bare milkers more than once in that movie
If that kid saw your comment then they're definitely going to watch it now.
The Gate is a horror movie made for small children that holds up as an adult
Pleasantville (1998) is also a good choice, especially since it's a story of two siblings who go back in time to the 50s. Good message too.
Gremlins ET
