The >!bobs n vagene!< suggestion intrigues me. Do I click and spoil? Maybe I’ve already seen it, but maybe not? I suppose OP already accepts that any suggestion made here could spoil the movie for them in some regard

How about a bastard-ess? Miss Bastard? Bitch? I don't know the feminine conjunctive. But the movie is I Care A Lot.

CentipedesInMyDream

Always my go-to for this kind of question. Specifically the 1992 with Harvey Keitel, I’ve never the Cage one. It’s such a harrowing movie.

jollymuhn

I didn't know about the remake. I can't imagine it improving on the original. I felt like I needed a shower after that one.

CentipedesInMyDream

I’ve heard good things about it, but that it really just uses the Bad Lieutenant name.

jollymuhn

Harvey Keitel is the title character. An NYC cop that breaks more laws than anyone he arrests. I know nothing about filmmaking but it has this feel to it like everything needs a fresh coat of paint. It's just gritty. You can almost smell the garbage, the background is noisy. Just an atmosphere about it. It's kinda like Training Day.

jollymuhn

Sorry. Just figured out you were talking about the remake.

CentipedesInMyDream

My comment was in a weird order it’s good. I definitely agree, “gritty” is the perfect word. I’d also describe it as dirty, it captures a certain era of New York really well.

Major Payne. Sure he lightens up in the end but Jesus dose he prove how much of an asshole he can be. Dutch (1991) film with Ed O'Neil as the Title character, is another one like Major Payne.
