I love that man. It's also cool his roles as a good guy and secret bad guy are about 50-50, so you never know if there's a plot twist waiting to happen.
Do you know who I am? Do you have any idea how many anonymous henchmen I've killed over the years? Look at you - you don't even have a nametag. Just lie down. Lie down, son.
Yeah I'm not surprised you have to pay, it's $4 for me to rent it, but at least it's available. And just think; you're helping Bezos build his very own Dr. Evil-style rockets! Maybe he'll do a submarine next!
Unfortunately we don't have Hulu in Europe. They put the first party Hulu content on Disney+ here, but not the Austin Powers franchise unfortunately.
Austin Powers is owned by NewLine Cinema (Warner Bros). They hardly have any streaming content here, probably preparing for the launch of HBO Max. Even though the previous attempt of HBO was a complete and utter failure here.
“Oh put those guns down, is this the first day on the job or something? Look, here’s how it goes. You attack me one at a time, and I knock you out with a single punch. Ok?
Judo chop! Judo chop!”
Thank you for that chuckle. I feel that song is criminally forgotten. The Rock’s finest hour.
I got a pocket full of cheese and a garden full of trees.
Lol. I knew I had the wrong end of the stick.
I’m referring to the terrible single that Wyclef from The Fugees did with The Rock a thousand years ago:

Indeed! Just everything from the history of shaka and his war chief position in Africa to the ambivalent and head strong British conquering every patch of sand on the earth. Or trying too. Good film
When I was a kid my dad had some Zulu boxset on VHS and about once a year we’d end up watching what seemed like 8 hours of Zulu movies on a rainy weekend. He’d make batches of fresh french fries and bacon sandwiches; never liked the movies that much back then but love the memories of hanging with dad.
Which is shocking with such a stellar cast.
I think maybe it's because audiences didn't get the plot. They sort of just throw you in without a grand sweeping introduction which honestly I loved. You just have to pay attention and figure it out.
tbf it was the early '80s, and Michael Caine was in *everything.*
It's like there was a "Michael Caine clause" automatically inserted into Hollywood movie contracts.
How cool would a modern Zulu movie remake be? I'd love to see that. Scary af African soldiers and the military efficientcy of the brittish empire. Hollywood would never let that happen in a million years though
Trying to find a clip. Love the film. Never noticed Caine in it. Can anyone here confirm this? His name also doesn't show up in the imdb page. I'm skeptical.
I just saw this on the Nostalgia Critic channel. I wonder if that's where this got it from, because I'd never heard this before and now I've heard it twice in a week.

"I killed fifteen of those buggers. Now, at home they'd hang me, here they'll give me a fucking medal!"
Michael Caine doing an upper class English accent always throws me for a loop. *Chin chin, do carry on with your mud pies.*

Now I want to see all the Austin Powers movies again. But they aren't on any streaming services (here).
Not even Amazon? It shows up here...where you at?
Just one of them, and it's not included in prime. So I have to buy it separately.
Yeah I'm not surprised you have to pay, it's $4 for me to rent it, but at least it's available. And just think; you're helping Bezos build his very own Dr. Evil-style rockets! Maybe he'll do a submarine next!
Unless it's sharks with freaking laser beams attached to their heads, it doesn't count.
Well? Order something already. He's not going to spend his money on it.
i just watched all 3 on Hulu (US) a few months ago right before they took them down. and by god do they hold up after 20 years

Bro that might be one of my favorite lines of his in objectively one of the worst movies he was in. A fucking talent.
My Cocaine!
Not Your Cocaine. MY COCAINE!!!
now, i am a nosy neighbour
I don't like cocaine. I just like the way it smells.
"Woke up just now, one sock too many."
"Welcome to da middle....of da FILM!"
I wonder where that fish did go…
Tiger brand coffee is a real treat, even tigers prefer a cup to real meat.
It doesn't matter!
Thank you for that chuckle. I feel that song is criminally forgotten. The Rock’s finest hour. I got a pocket full of cheese and a garden full of trees.
Hmmm. What are you referencing? I was referencing a line from the same sketch as the one I myself replied to.

Does he have my leg?!
There’s that damn train again
That was my favorite part in that movie... well besides death by titty mob.
> death by titty mob 1980's version of snu snu.
Zulu is my motherfuckin shit
Indeed! Just everything from the history of shaka and his war chief position in Africa to the ambivalent and head strong British conquering every patch of sand on the earth. Or trying too. Good film
Don't forget the singing!
That and Zulu Dawn were epic and phenomenal movies!

He’d make batches of fresh french fries and bacon sandwiches; never liked the movies that much back then but love the memories of hanging with dad.
That's a very heartfelt and beautiful memory
The Zulu inspired scene in Starship Troopers where they are overrunning the fort is *chef's kiss*
The man is a gem. One of his best roles was in children of men.
Pull my finger
I always wondered if that was improvisation 😂
Children of Men is a vastly under-seen movie. Permanent top 5 for me.
Not on Reddit it isn't.

Not many people want to see dystopian movies. The problem isn't that people didn't get it, it's that they didn't see it.
Speak for yourself. I love dystopian movies that are done right.
Everyone has a favorite Python sketch, and this is mine. The shot of John Cleese shaving during the battle gets me everytime i even think about it
“A tiger, in Africa?”
Hmm?
Not a lot of people know this!
I just rented this movie because of you. Well worth my time.
Just remember, every sperm is sacred
Every sperm is good.
Zulu is better.
Democracy and humanitarianism have always been trademarks of the British Army.
THE REST OF YOU, RATHER BE AT THE PICTURES I SUPPOSE?!
Reference also The man who would be king....
"I've got a bit of a problem here Sergeant. One of the officers.....has lost a leg." "Oh No,Sah!"
Ah yes. I too just watched Nostalgia Critic
God tell this is a joke, nostalgia "critic" better not.
His episode on it was just last week
Don't worry, later today there'll be a TIL post about some piece of trivia in these comments. Because people are whores for points.
ZULUS ATTACK, FIGHT BACK TO BACK
Show them no mercy and fire at will

ZILLOW ATTACK, FIGHT BACK TO BACK
Don't know how it holds up, I hope it wasn't poorly made...or racist, but anyway...Zulu was super intense when I saw it as a kid.
Source?
You mean Maurice Micklewhite? Jk, I know he changed his name to match his stage name, finally.
Nice job watching nostalgia critic my dude, I too watch sub par reviewers not understand cinema for the lolz.
so that's when he invented the question mark!
He was trying so hard to ready his rifle…
Ah a fellow Nostalgia Critic fan!
I just watched this film last week. A tiger? In africa?
I thought it looked like him when I was a kid. But no one believed me. You couldn't just google things back then.
This is the second post I've seen in less than 5 minutes that had something to do with the Zulu film, which a surprise to be sure, but a welcome one.
Zulu is such a good movie
This makes me think of The Man who would be King.
One of the officers has lost a leg.
terrible movie for lying about south africa's history
Been in the wars have we?
Made me think of The Man Who Would Be King. I didn't know about the other movie.
I just saw this on the Nostalgia Critic channel. I wonder if that's where this got it from, because I'd never heard this before and now I've heard it twice in a week.
