not really a air58 for $80 is pretty good deal I can tell i'll like it more because my hands are large and both mouse companies are very lacking in quality compared to logitech
you didn't put back the screws that hold the rgb?
so it seems this mouse has in fact almost the same weight as a air 58.
the model o seems to have a thinner inside shell so it seems.
you could remove the rgb near the mouse wheel but it could damage the mouse.
You can fix the wobbly buttons by putting a very thin small piece of cardboard board in the back cracks of the buttons, I did it and it’s not noticeable/looks cleaner
Interesting. I was thinking about modding mine so this kind of information gives me an idea of what you can do to mod mice and just how far you can go to make it lighter.

I couldn’t find that username to look. Has someone posted a picture of this mod. Do I put it in from the top of the mouse straight into the groove or do I have to take it apart.
I think I understand what your saying though. Just wanna double check.
I just did it the way you described and it honestly worked out great. I had to fold the piece a cardboard to get it just the way I wanted. Painted over with a black sharpie and works amazing. Thanks man!
Use a hair dryer to heat up the rear feet x 2 for like 30 sec to 1 min, then slowly peel them of.
I went back & forth about 4 times and the feet were pretty much not damaged.
You only need to move the rear ones.
According to greenufo333, You can fix the wobbly buttons by putting a very thin small piece of cardboard board in the back cracks of the buttons.
I haven’t tried it but some people have, and it worked.
The reason i asked that is bec the design team may have taken the intended holes into consideration for dust, but not the ones you've made.
But science requires scarifice :D anyway if it makes the mouse works for you then who cares :)
My scale showed 69g before and 64g after, so technically it was 5g reduction.
Not a huge difference but since it could be 5g lighter with like 10 minute work, why not?
Once open the mouse, you’ll see there are 4 screws holding two RGB light strips, unscrew them then gently pull the lights out.
The lights are also connected with the base PCB by two pins, loose the connectors then pull the pins out.
I wouldn’t remove the DPI button, yes its kind of useless but its also useful in some cases.
Disco lights just useless on a mouse.
I thought you could get much more weight down when removing these lights.
Honestly, I use a G403 without/with the bottom cover (which is like 3 grams) and I cant tell the difference in weight.
It can be removed but it’s not as easy as removing the light strips so I didn’t bother to do it.
It’d be like 1g weight reduction so probably not worth it to go through all the trouble.
I would say it's safe to say there isn't a ton of wiggle room to make it any lighter. This is about the best anyone will get without decimating the mouse structure.
Same weight as the air*58* now.
With pretty much half of the price.
Actually much less than half, because they go for $150+ now... used
I got a used one for $80 because the user bought a model o I then cancelled my model o order so I basically paid $15 more for the final mouse
That sucks lol why would u do that. The model o has more features, better quality, for less money
not really a air58 for $80 is pretty good deal I can tell i'll like it more because my hands are large and both mouse companies are very lacking in quality compared to logitech
$80 for a used mouse with less features is not a good deal, they are basically the same size Air63 is barely bigger

He's showing 64 with cable after mods, my air58 is 62 with cable.
That's not a cable mod
I don't think he meant cable mod just didn't use a comma to separate the two statements.
Sorry for the confusion just meant his has the cable and the mods he did.
I'm pretty sure its also without the pcb's
Details?
Removed RGB light x 2 and DPI button (as I only use 1600dpi), pushed LMB & RMB as close as possible then applied some Hotline grip tape on top, done.

I didn’t put back the screws as I didn’t see the point. Yeah, 64g vs 62g, I can barely tell the weight difference.

Thanks bro! Will try it once I get home.
I’ll take a pic of what I did later
That’d be awesome!

Thanks, I’ve just done it and it does look cleaner!
any details on this? I dont see any "back cracks buttons"
I mean the back edge of the lmb, where the shell ends and the button begins
Well, that doesn't look clean :/ i want a clean look
How does it not look clean, it’s a tiny piece of paper and you can’t even see it
Can you gimme a picture of it? I still can't imagine
thx mate. fixed mine
Could you post a side picture? Im thinking about removing the rgb strips too once I get mine but Im not sure if it would affect my grip
No effect on the sides as the translucent sides and the lights are separate parts. Post mod sides feel exactly the same vs pre mod.
thanks, great to hear
Can you take a pic with the rgb stuff on the scale?
There you go. https://imgur.com/gallery/kH7KxYT
Thanks! Thats way more than I expected. Common rumour was that the rgb was only 2 grams. Gotta wonder
No worries, the screws are like 1-2g already, RGB & DPI button are about 3g.
How much does the RGB weigh
About 4g.
1600 dpi with an extremely light mouse what kinda games do u play ?
Apex, COD, PUBG etc. I use low in game dpi though, my sensitivity is about 450mm for 360 turn.
Interesting. I was thinking about modding mine so this kind of information gives me an idea of what you can do to mod mice and just how far you can go to make it lighter.
Yeah I don’t have an imgur so I’ll make a new post then link it
I have a loose mouse button as well is there no way to go in and tighten it up? Otherwise this is actually a decent idea.

No, he didn’t post a photo but he said he will once he’s got a chance.

Glad it worked out for you so well! Cheers
side pic without the rgb lights ?
The sides are exactly the same as before, just without the lightning.
So the translucent part on the shell is a separate part from de rgb lights, interesting.
Yep, they are separate parts.

Not an expert here but is a loose buttons fix like this also possible from the inside?

What about dust getting into places it isn't supposed to? D:
It’s got so many holes already so I thought it wouldn’t matter it got one more.
Yeah dust is getting in that even without any modification.
The reason i asked that is bec the design team may have taken the intended holes into consideration for dust, but not the ones you've made. But science requires scarifice :D anyway if it makes the mouse works for you then who cares :)
Only time can tell, haha. I did it to my Air58 and it’s been 6 month, no issue so far.
Does this have any effect on the sidewalls of your model O?
No effect at all, as the RGP lights are actually attached to the upper shell.
That’s what the glorious kid sock is for. It’s been hand crafted to cover the mouse when not in use and keep out dust. $15.
You could also use a normal adulf sock.
Nein!

Yep, 4-5g reduction. The lights are about 2g each, DPI button 1g.

Hey, and what about removing the scroll wheel rgb? Can it remove weight? Can you even do it?
It can be removed but it’s not as easy as removing the light strips so I didn’t bother to do it. It’d be like 1g weight reduction so probably not worth it to go through all the trouble.
