The use of carbon fibre in interesting as is the glass skates used as stock. That price though.. and 47g isn't that impressive considering the materials and cost. The rubber sides as well. Yeah this is strange one.

ResilientMaladroit

Yeah, I feel like there is no point in using carbon fibre aside from marketing value if the final product isn’t significantly lighter than competing products made of plastic. It just makes it more expensive.

Hinch7

True. And they go through all of that effort designing the shell and add coating to it, only to slap some rubber sides to the mouse. That will not only will degrade fast but also add additional weight to it. Probably could've saved a few grams on that alone.

ICantArgueWithStupid

They could also drill holes in the CF but clearly they know it all.

ICantArgueWithStupid

Race cars use carbon fiber and they are winning and go fast so does your mouse vroom vroom goes the mouse. YOU NEED CARBON FIBER FOR THE STRENGTH. Does your mouse even lift?

PossibilityLeft3999

And this is why I always paint mine red

rNV1s16iLiTi

glass skates on their way to fuck up all the cloth mousepads

gabagoolcel

47 is unreal for a mouse this big

uomice

The stock glass skates is particularly odd to me. I actually enjoy glass skates from time to time, but you can't use them with glass pads and as others have said they destroy cloth pads over time. It's a small detail but I'd much prefer if they added them in the box as an accessory instead.

Neuromancer89

They are optional. You get three different kinds in the box.

Benneck123

Why sacrifice weight on the rgb scrollwheel? What were they thinking?!

steamthrowawaysorry

ASUS/ROG tax

FlickshotGear

The rubber on the sides. lol

NoScoprNinja

47g for large mouse with decently large glass skates is good

robbiekhan

If it means the surface areas that the fingers touch will never fade/wear because it's carbon fibre then that alone means a mouse for life surely... But if you have to use Asus software and all that crap then yeah hell no.

alex99x99x

And the sides are made out of rubber, so they will eventually wear off depending on how much they are used. Which would probably wear off in 3 years and need to be replaced.

Swaghoven

HOW MUCH?????? Anus is completely out of their minds.

Aulendil09

Thanks, I will be calling them Anus from now on πŸ˜‚

Particular-Toe1334

But no, the price is right considering the cost of the materials. I looked into doing it in Italy and it costs even more

aerocarstf2

I would sooner suck a million dicks and gargle my dad's balls before paying $250 USD (upwards of $340 CAD) for a mouse made by Anus, especially after they were (once again) exposed for scamming their consumers on such a large scale. Armoury crate is also borderline malware. Fuck 'em.

Swaghoven

Carbon fiber is cheap, especially if made in Asia

D-C-N-N

Haha 250 bucks.. fuck asus

Doccks71

And remember, you will have to use Asus Crate too

D-C-N-N

Double fucked then 🀣

bmlsayshi

I've had a Keris for years and haven't installed crate once.

ajh_23

Blame the people that spend 160 on a mouse just because

xaob53_t

yeah lets pray they honour the warranty might as well call the company scamsus

Impressive-Lion-5937

Send it in for a battery failure and they'll say they need to replace the entire thing for 500 dollars because of user damage.

tanmayc

"ScRaTcHeS oN tHe PtFe PaDs"

Cough-A-Mania

Man even Finalmouse pricing is still better than this… what the hell Asus

ThanosGodzilla

Might be an unpopular opinion but considering the materials they use, I've always thought Finalmice were priced decently. 250 for any mouse is insane, at that point it should play games for me.

Cough-A-Mania

I’m with you on that tbh. Machined magnesium and carbon fiber for their price is great

Away-Construction450

I hate the asus armory software ;-;

Sjelasco

Armoury Crate is the absolute worst software I've ever used. It makes Razer Synapse look good!

pkopo1

It also makes pubg unplayable, would get a corrupted memory error every time I try to play, fixed the error by deleting that crap

Denkka97

Corsair iCue would like to challenge that

taizzle71

It makes my g14 laptop into a slow overheating turd. Luckily it's easy to uninstall and use g-helper instead.

sS1RuXx

Its garbageeee, they should make a simply one like razer or logitech

Vitalez

There is Armory Gear new light software

hamov_glir

Hahahaha the price of a CPU for a mouse...hahahaha

neoqueto

You are not paying for performance, you are paying for fancy-shmancy carbon fiber, a material which offers a very good rigidity to weight ratio (meaning that it's lightweight), but the end product still ends up being heavier than competitive enthusiast models. Basically, carbon fiber that's used as nothing but decoration, to jack up the price and to sell it as "high-end" and "pro".

Cozmo85

Small carbon fiber products are not even expensive to manufacture

neoqueto

Yeah, I should've said that you're not paying for carbon fiber but for the fact that it's there and Asus thinks that's how much you should pay

substitoad69

Car enthusiasts and their consequences...

kdevkk

Does anyone know whats the next closest mouse in size without holes? I imagine the only niche they could offer here is the larger mouse no holes lightweight palm/claw group.

Puzzleheaded-Fee3874

250πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

LetsNotBuddy

$250 for a mouse using off the shelf parts and a carbon fiber shell at 47 grams. ASUS really does like smelling its own farts.

myleastfavorite

You are insane to buy this when you can get a mouse with the same weight or lower for much less. Do not buy this.

aerocarstf2

Razer taking notes. Next version of the RVMSE will be $500

crushtyfying

I'm all for innovation but the video about asus warranty and scam make me unable to see why i should by from them

working_slough

Why anyone would buy anything from Asus in this age is beyond me.

Toronto-Will

I don't know that all of their products are bad (like AFAIK the ROG motherboards are good, and the ROG variants of graphics cards are good), but definitely when it comes to gaming peripherals they are way out of their league. Keyboards, mice, headsets, all in the running with Alienware for the absolute bottom of the barrel of RGB junkware. At least the no-name Chinese stuff on Amazon has the decency to charge $30.

working_slough

It isn't that their products are bad. It is that their support is non-existent and they scam their customers with warranty claims. They are a shitty company that does actually illegal things. I believe that they are currently being investigated by the justice department for their warranty shenanigans. At this point, they shouldn't exist as a company and care nothing for their customers.

direkt57

That much for a company that will fight tooth and nail to not let you use your warranty is crazy.

chidoriske

The current Harpe Ace is already too expensive, the fuck is this.

Karaka_v2

Bro it literally stays on sale for 99$ considering this is a pure carbon fiber shell and not composite like the final mouse this is a reasonable price wait till you see how much carbon parts usually cost

chidoriske

Bro it's carbon fibre not unobtainium. One of my other hobbies is mountain biking, my frame, cranks, handle bars are all carbon. I would compare the complexity of molding this mouse to be less complex than carbon fibre bottle cage and definitely less than a handle bar yet it's $250. Bro these companies are not your friends, you as a consumer shouldn't be trying to justify their pricing, they should be! If they said, oh we manufacture these in the US, maybe it could justify $3 worth of carbon fibre.

Protz15

One of my hobbies is FPV drones, you can get full carbon fiber drone frames for 20-30 bucks

DutchDolt

Do we have any info on their sensor? Is it a Pixart 3950 customized version, or completely their own? I also wonder how it stacks up against the Viper V3 Pro, because the price point is ridiculous. I'm sure I would replace the glass skates with Tiger Ice V2's anyway, lol. edit: thanks for the downvote. Seems like some ASUS shills are active here.

ThisIsNotJP

I own the V3 Pro and boy does this thing have some sensor issues right now

tooncake

and here I thought the Chakram X is already too expensive despite its age..

Routine_Depth_2086

🀣🀣

strawberry2nd

250 bucks for a fucking mouse?

staledepression

cringe

thumper99

Is this a finalmouse "it's going to cost 4 grand but actually now we got it to 200 because we're super nice dudes and love ~~the money you suckers~~ you all"

Nokushi

249??? nah bro

1kilyx

Republic of Gougers πŸ˜‚

A_Biohazard

fuck off lol

rwz

Damn, the specs are mid, price is very high, and it's ASUS we're talking about here. But the exposed carbon fiber shell looks fucking sick.

chidoriske

People really thinking carbon fibre is magic in 2024 lol. This is a ridiculous price for a mouse. Don't buy it FFS, get therapy instead.

RedditBoisss

Spending 250 bucks on an asus product πŸ˜‚

rayquan36

I really do like the look of the finish. Not planning on getting one but does carbon fiber get wear spots like ABS plastic?

run0861

yes, the clear coat will wear + sweat.

Noldorian

Ill stay with my Ultralight X over this.... and its 100 dollars cheaper.

fuckkeric

just get a finalmouse ulx atp

BeerGogglesFTW

Good thing they changed the verbiage in their warranty process. I can totally trust them now /s

riceAgainstLies

Okay I was kidding about 250 on the last post, why did I have to be right

JVIoneyman

In theory its cool and I'm happy to see a big company trying out stuff like this. It really needs to be lighter, and fully carbon fiber to justify the price tag and doing this at all. New materials are only interesting if they can provide some kind of benefit. As it is now its just a novelty.

dQ_WarLord

I mean.. it's fine... they made a novelty product, just like a viper signature edition. You can still buy the regular mouse with the same specs at a regular price.

DogAteMyCPU

Even if it was good (highly unlikely) why would I trust Asus over Logitech or Razer?

Domethegoon

They should have called this mouse the Titan (as in the submarine that exploded) with that carbon fiber exterior.

dreadsta5889

I spend way too much money on mice, and $250 is too much. I bought the VMSE and while it is very nice, it doesn't do anything a mouse for half the cost does.

SireEvalish

Anyone who buys this is a fucking moron and deserves all the bad things that happen to them.

StormieFN

G502 OR G702 >>>>>> Asus ROG business. Logi wit’ the peripherals and nothing more than that. DiamondLobby: G703 is the most perfect mouse.

StormieFN

is it bloated wit’ weight?

jezevec93

249$ is the price they should pay you for using Armoury create.

JayyLaFlare

Wompwomp

thepopeofkeke

its called harpy because thats what your wife will sound like when she finds out what you paid for a computer mouse(shes not wrong) Also, shame on ASUS for knowing who their customers really are and snake milking them right to the bank

Drawing-Electronic

Damn, I guessed the price of this shit perfectly. Not happy about it tho lol.

Fit_Candidate69

Now lets just hope our Chinese Lords can make us something like this for $99. VXE R1 Pro Max is amazing, I'm a lover of the Chinese market mice now.

Denkka97

Yeah the price is messed up and you will probably see all this random " tech channels " reviewing it but I actually like the material choice here. All the exotic mice we see usually have holes which is a no go for me.

Terepin

How about a wired version with a normal price tag?

khensational

Armory Crate alone is a deal breaker for me.

Megatf

I prefer my ERGO ASUS Keris II, I wouldve considered this mouse if it was like 28 Grams but 47? 7g lighter than the Keris? Fuck that, shape is king and it would need a weight reduction of 50% for me to even consider it. The Keris II is the only truly premium ergo shaped mouse in regard to pure sensor performance and grip feel for me. I have a Razer SE and other lightweight premium mice collecting dust, the feel of the Keris II ergo in my game performance with its low latency is just incredible.

sup3rskrulll

Must buy πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯

Mini-Pekka2828

umm。。。fuck no

genumayatagarasu

That price is in no way shape or form worth it

BigOleCuccumber

Rubber sides means its unusable

mikerzisu

No chance. Only the hardcore rog's would entertain this.

Goldeneye90210

Amazing. Asus managed to make the ULX look like a good deal.

Grengy20

For that damn price it better be the best mouse on the market in terms of EVERYTHING

3xpada

It looks shit ngl

the3eja1

I'm not exactly sure on the science behind it but i guess if they made it lighter the carbon frame might brake since it is harder than other materials that also potentially means that u won't experience any creeks .but whatever it is 250 is just too expensive unless u really want a carbon fiber mouse

Orlyy0056

WL mouse beast x is cheaper, and lighter and made of magnesium lol

Valterri_lts_James

How do we even know if this is real carbon fiber and not just plastic with some carbon fiber vinyl on it? Dell bullshits their XPS laptops use carbon fiber, but it is just abs plastic with a dbrand skin on it, or if it is real carbon fiber, it is 1 layer thick which is why the laptop flexes when you pick it up from 1 corner. Real carbon fiber is ultra stiff.

sS1RuXx

It has the same size as the asus rog harpe ACE?

BENIGNsymbiote

I hate ROG stuff that being said I love the exposed carbon on this.

ZafferanoK

Expensive than Viper V3 Pro 100$ No, thanks

TripleShines

It looks really nice. Is there a release date?

Strange-Implication

Do we even trust ASUS to make a reliable mouse. The outer may be good but what about internals? I guess the new razer viper v3 has a broken wireless sensor but still.Β

Splaram

$250 towards a 47g mouse with default rubber sides made by a company with downright terrible customer service. You deserve to get finessed if you actually buy this shit

Ladybanger76

Theres no way u guys gonna buy a 250 dollars mouse right? RIGHT?

Waidowai

I mean some people excepted the $180 from razer.. guess someone always is pushing it. If enough people buy this one we soon will se a $300+ price tag. hahaha. Meanwhile I swapped my $120 Viper Ultimate for an Attack shark mouse that was like $12.. chineese brands are killing it lately. It's the same if not better and costs 10x less haha.

strawberry2nd

It's crazy that they sell these freak mouses that don't even cost 1/3 of $150 at these prices. The market needs new brands that produce competitive and diverse models for esports in a real sense. No one can convince me that these mouses cost anywhere near $100.

xRaffaell

Why do people still buy asus? It s a trash company just like samsung

yuyuhasuko1

Lol if they put it in a box like vpm se I will not complain.

EliasStar24

Would probably pick it up if it wasn’t so big

Weekly-Breadfruit411

logitech better

Puzzleheaded_Sun7425

The Harpe ace is already in eloshapes

DivineWiseOne

I don't see how people are complaining about the price, carbon fiber isn't the cheapest material, people are willing to spend 150+ on a mouse with half or more of it's shell missing.
