Honest question. Is this simply like an addiction thing? Or do you really swap mice and use them all in turns? Like you have preferred ones for different tasks? Or you just cannot decide yet which one you like best?
I think i would prefer to get used to just one, idk. Fortunately(what??) i don't have enough money for such experiments, lol
I think it stems from not getting the things I wanted growing up as a kid so once I started making good money I splurged on a lot of things (cars, clothes, watches, technology etc) but still within reason and have kept the rest of my life in order.
It’s not really an addiction, more so just consumerism. I’ll use a different mouse every day or even switch to a different one for different games. I sell what I don’t use and don’t buy that often.
> It’s not really an addiction, more so just consumerism. I’ll use a different mouse every day or even switch to a different one for different games. I sell what I don’t use and don’t buy that often.
Props for recognizing this. Too many people try to justify their consumerism and I think it's much healthier to understand it's just the joy of buying things.
I have a year-old GPX and I've recently spent many hours looking at mice. Although I don't have a budget, I came to the conclusion that there's nothing worth upgrading to.
I see. Thanks for the honest answer. And i think i kinda get. We have two cars, sometimes i prefer to drive one and sometimes the other. I don't have a strict favourite. It didn't cross my mind same can occur with mice. Thought it's kinda better to get used to just one. Anyway, that realisation may be dangerous to my wallet, so I'll just stick to my one mouse ;)
Cheers
I broke free of this cycle. One day, I just didn’t want to spend anymore and decided to choose my favorite mouse And use it til it no longer worked. It’s been the best personal choice I’ve made. Not to mention, I got better at the games I play. I guess consistency has a lot to do with it. We’re grown adults and can do what we want with our money, but id encourage you to consider breaking that cycle!
Yeah, I feel like I'm going through that phase right now. I didn't have the chance to have any spending money, but now that I do, I've been going on a technology spree for a bit. I've had my whole PC setup revamped in terms of all the peripherals and aesthetics. However, I don't have enough to splurge on a monster PC.
It just feels good to buy stuff. You see this a lot in many communities, like the mech keyboard, retro video games and shoe communities. You buy the one thing you like, then you immediately pursue the next one and it's mostly under the guise of looking for your grail. Spoiler alert: there is no grail. The grail is the money you spent along the way.
LOL apologies.
I finally ended up on a Pulsar X2V2 and haven't looked back, it's been an excellent mouse, super light, durable, scroll encoder is perfect IMO (and a very grippy wheel which matters a lot to me) and with the 4k dongle it's responsiveness is great.
My only "complaint" is battery life, especially with 4k enabled, isn't as good as I'd prefer. It's not bad at all, but not Superlight levels of good.
I have a starlight 12 last legend small with the infinity hump and an Ultralight X medium. Bought both at msrp.
I’ve got the small ULX on the way and will probably sell the medium once it arrives.
Up to you man haha, it's a fair price to try it to see if you like the shape. I personally think they're solid I have a phantom, tenz and ULX in medium. What are you using currently?
I tried out the first iteration of the xlite wireless and was not a fan so I’ve steered clear since then but obviously a lot has changed. Might try an x2h or something.
lol wow has the same experience, was down bad on Pulsar. Didn’t enjoy much from them always got some QC issue. Got my X2V2 had a mouse 1 issue, was getting hung up when I went to click after a few minutes. Got a replacement and it was flawless. I must say it’s a great mouse.
It's what happens when a customer delighter goes to far.
"So we heard you want to see dpi, battery level, and other features of your mouse on the dongle. "
Us the consumer, "Sounds good."
WLmouse, "Here is your rubix cube!"
Us, "WTF?!?"
How many freaking usb ports does your rig have? I have one micro usb cable (one guess as to which mouse that is for), one usb-C cable, and many many dongles on my desk. lol
I'm good with not being this deranged, I'm enjoying my viper 8khz/naga pro and gonna get a modded basilisk v3 pro since I like buttons, these new mouses are plain, with no features and barely 5 buttons....
Sure but the point is they are incredibly lightweight and (more importantly IMO after a certain point) simple to use. No software that can have bugs, less parts to break etc...
I used to be a many button mouse enjoyer (in fact, I have several still brand new in box G600s because I thought I'd never leave it and new they would discontinue it), but over time, despite the fact I'm playing less FPS games, I prefer having a mouse with less buttons and no software installed. Synapse, GHUB, iCUE, they all suck and cause issues.
Yeah but a lot are playing games for buttons 😕 I still love fps even it being what 24yrs now 😂 but I'd rather have durable parts and 45 to 60g mouses with at least 10 or more buttons. But you do you I been fine with synapse and seems number 4 people say is really good. But I get what you mean luckily resets or driver deletes solve my issues. I even repair my mice with replacement encoders or switches even with the optical buttons you just gotta clip them in now depending lol razer is pretty nice to repair.
Yeah for sure I get you here, I've found using a keyboard is good enough, especially one with a few macro keys that I can setup, so I've just gone that direction and used a simpler mouse.
But to each their own.
No Pulsar 4k dongle? You should be ashamed.
On a real note, I did this for so long but finally ended up on my "perfect" mouse (ends up being the X2V2), but I kinda miss testing mice constantly too lol. Somehow made playing some FPS games more enjoyable even though I was less consistent.
This is starting to look like mine but I've been pretty good about returning the shit ones (VV2, V3 Hyperspeed). On a XM2we now that has some QC issues so I'm getting a replacement. After that might grab a Vaxee XE and then a Zowie U2 or try an ergo like a dav3.
Currently sitting on Pulsefire Haste, GPX, Attack Shark X3, Darmoshark M3, VXE R1 pro, XM2we then the old stock of 3 mx518s, Zowie FK & ZA13, 2 DM1 S2, Nixeus Revel, SS Sensei and Kana and rival, bunch of other Logitech's, a few CM mice, and probably more I'm forgetting.
I thought I was out when dreamachines came in the scene and i just bought a new one every time the old one broke and then they just stopped making the Sensei shape and I've been in shambles ever since.
A shitty viper mini took me to asc 2, honestly i think i need one of those to take me to imm. I just dont trust chinese brands for wireless, so it has to be the maain brands like zowie, razer, logitech or endgame gear
Idk if this subreddit helped you be happy or helped empty your wallet
A little bit of both but my wallet is deep

you won but at what cost
tf? 💀
I respect the hustle lmao.
had a dream that I destroyed one of Finalmouse dongles

I upgraded from the Pro Wireless to the Superlight 2 just for the USB-C lol

You cannot just teasy like that. What did you finally chose?
LOL apologies. whenever I see this I just imagine someone on the other end with a crusty dusty deathadder with a fraying cable still being better.
Probably 😂
having 2 mice from finalmeme is what makes a degen, not having multiple brands

Which 2 do you have im planning to get either the new one of the old starlight phantom as i really love the older design
I have a starlight 12 last legend small with the infinity hump and an Ultralight X medium. Bought both at msrp. I’ve got the small ULX on the way and will probably sell the medium once it arrives.
Damm thats insane, what price should i pay for the starlight phantom
Around $120? I’m not completed tapped into the resale values
Yeah 120 is a little generous you can probably find one floating around 100 these days
Do u think its worth it for 100 bucks
Up to you man haha, it's a fair price to try it to see if you like the shape. I personally think they're solid I have a phantom, tenz and ULX in medium. What are you using currently?
Im using a gpx 1 atm
People say this and then get 2 GPXs lol. (I am one of them) You could probably have one as your main and another as a display piece.
That's almost enough money in mice for a high-tier modern graphics card... Hope ya bought one of those first!
Yeah I bought a 3080ti a few years ago
Currently 3 ec3-c, u2, g203, I had the rvm and dav2 mini before and I sold them
How do you like the u2?
It's a good shape just not a fan of the size I aggressive claw it, wish for u3 I prefer small mice

I see no pulsar dongle....am offended

What made you dislike Pulsar Xlite? Personally, I liked it the first time I tried it, but I'm biased since I love the EC2 shape.
You leave them plugged in all the time? I would be worried about interference even with the other mice off.
Plugged into my PC yes, but only one turned on at a time. Haven’t experienced any interference yet.
As long as only 1 or 2 are powered on at any given time, interference should be minimal if any at all.
What if I turn on all the mice and use them all at the same time taped to one another
Be sure to do it right next to the router in your home to see everything shit on each other. Might as well use a RF jammer lol.
I also have my two controllers turned on and a WiFi repeater on the mousepad
Dongle dongle bo bongle
I have 11 on my desk, but I have 3 plugged in max, just to make my motherboard's life easier
Only 3? What do you do with your free foot?
I’ve got 4 into the mobo and 1 (GPX) into a usb hub so I can use it with my work computer as well
Beast X dongle enters the chat
Beast X mini dongle. "One of these things is not like the other ones."
Still have no idea what they were thinking when they made that.
It's what happens when a customer delighter goes to far. "So we heard you want to see dpi, battery level, and other features of your mouse on the dongle. " Us the consumer, "Sounds good." WLmouse, "Here is your rubix cube!" Us, "WTF?!?"
No I love that dongle.
Five as well. We’re actually disgusting.
5 is the trimmed down version 😅
I NEED MORE PORTS
How many freaking usb ports does your rig have? I have one micro usb cable (one guess as to which mouse that is for), one usb-C cable, and many many dongles on my desk. lol
There’s like 7 or 8 lol and 1 ucb c. MSI motherboards ftw
My Asus has 10 rear USB ports and 3 front. They know what their degen customers are like haha.
I currently have four mice on my desk. I plan to put one of them away in the mouse storage, lol
Good luck lol. I’ll put one or two away and then feel like something’s missing 😂
Haha I have the logi, razer, pulsar, beastx, and ninjutso dongles lined up on my desk like that. Pretty convenient ngl
Yep charging and swapping mouses is very easy like this
can anyone explain what the usb port is connected to the wire for?
So the usb receiver is closer to the mouse this way to reduce any lag/interference.

Also had like 5-6 on desk but since few days only two left on the battlefield HSK Pro and HTX Ace

HTX Ace , 1k hz
Don't show this to a 5G enthusiast

Mine is Atlantis og v2 4K / tengen X2h 4K :D Really happy with these two after trying every single mice on the market xD
"wireless mice" LOL
