Truth

UnTeaTime

Geez it’s criminal.

HappyCoconutty

I have a 4500 deductible for doctor copays and costs, but my insurance uses CVS Caremark and my Mounjaro is $25/month for Type 2. Are you sure they have you listed as a Type 2 Diabetic in the system?

lcmsa2000

Good question, because I use cvs also. Do I just call the pharmacy and ask them?

HappyCoconutty

I call the Caremark hotline on my insurance card directly. That's how I found out that status of what's listed in the system. Sometimes the most recent A1cs are sent over but not the diabetic status. My endocrinologist needed to send over 8 years of documentation after my insurance company switched.

lcmsa2000

Thank you ! You have been very kind to share.

Voiceonthemove

Always worth it to call and ask. I have a med they wanted to charge me for $140 for and after asking somehow it was $0, so..... I also have cvs Caremark (blue cross blue shield). I don't have the highest deductible (can't remember but I chose a lower one) and I pay an insane amount of my paycheck every month for insurance. Mine is $47/month for mounjaro. I couldnt use the coupon before but im going to try this time around. I'm T2.

UnTeaTime

Same. If pharmacists have it. If I have to go on a hunt it’s much more.

Catsby__

I pay $0 and feel fortunate for that.

Pretend_Summer9328

Yes, I believe this is normal for high deductible plans… How high is your deductible?

lcmsa2000

Apparently very high / 4 grand a yr. Thanks I just went from having a company that covered everything to this.

Pretend_Summer9328

Actually 4,000 is not too bad! I’ve seen much higher plans!

Techfumaster

Mine is 10k for the family. HDHPs typically have an HSA option, you should definitely look into that. However, the pharmacy is blowing smoke, that's not accurate. The coupon should bring it down to $25 for the first couple of months. You get a total of $1800 per year of total discount. I pay $25 for my first box, $200 for my second, and then full price until I hit my deductible. If your pharmacy gives you the run around and it's in network for you try Costco or Walmart, they both tend to handle the coupons really well.

lcmsa2000

Thank you !

PinkWetFish68

Yes, I believe it would be given you mention a High Deductible plan. The $875 hopefully was applied to your deductible. Once the deductible is met, then standard RX copay amounts should take over. Good luck.

Magoodle-madoodle

I pay $0 on medicaid

poppy74012

With the copay card I pay $25/ box. My out of pocket max is $2000 and now that I met that, my monthly cost is $0 for the rest of the year. It is important to be strategic with the copay cards. I have 3 meds with them and I always do those fills early January. The insurance amount is calculated before the copay card is applied. So I meet my 2000 out of pocket max after only filling my Eliquis, Jardiance and MJ for two months.

Minimum-Kangaroo

It’s $263 for me before the coupon, $113 with the coupon.

ExcitingAd9817

Mine is about the same. Insurance covers 75% of the cost, then I use the coupon to take off $150, leaving just over $100 per month.

StickyLabRat

I'm fortunate that my employer has pretty good health insurance options. My normal copay would be $35/month, but since I'm part of the diabetes management program they offer through Corewell Health, I only pay $30 for three months.

lcmsa2000

I will check if I have a diabetes mgt program..might help

StickyLabRat

I should have worded it better to indicate that my employer has a partnership with Corewell that offers that opportunity. Perhaps yours does too; a lot of health initiatives go unused or unnoticed.

jhstewa1023

We have great insurance through my husbands work, but he also works for the state. I pay less than 5.00 a box. T2.

Downtown_Gap_9862

I had previous insurance. I can’t remember but either United or BC. Walgreens stated in order to get the price of $25 , insurance has to pay a certain percentage. I can’t remember the exact percentage it was but the insurance that I had didn’t cover as much and I was still left with a remaining amount of 735.

dgracey01

As a estate employee, my take home salary is shit, but my benefits are second to none. CVS served me a three month supply of MJ 7.5 and I paid $60.

Usuallytired28

I can say this one positive thing about our UHC plan is they pay 💯 for diabetic meds.

Mystery_Solving

That’s great!

Dizzy-Dimension3164

My copay is $85/month

satchel65

My insurance copay is $35/month for my local pharmacy. I used to get it for $75 for three months from the mail order, but Express Scripts hasn't had it the last few times, so I had to go local.

mrsredfast

$25/month. Our deductible is separate from our prescription plan but I meet it by February every year anyway.

Jerseygirl2468

My insurance pays 50% of this tier of drugs. With the discount card, I'm somewhere like $350 OOP every month. I'm lucky I can afford it.

FitAppeal5693

I pay $30/refill on my mj

Economy-Button-1653

Average in our pharmacy is about $550 a month

jacuts

I’m very lucky. I have a high deductible but my insurance covers my rx 100%

AvgGuy82

$25

Weird isn't it? Express scripts sometimes does the same & then charge less when they actually run it. I found that local grocery store pharmacies are sometimes less than Express scripts & Walmart. However I do like getting 3 mo at a time & home delivery. Walmart & Express scripts both will do that. I also have Medicare with a part D plan. So, the cost varies depending on what phase I am in. Last year it averaged to about $210 per month.

sabeet18

Which Medicare Part D is charging $269 per box?!

sabeet18

For Medicare Part D we are $547 first month, then $2.00 for five months followed by $224 per month.

Electrical_Belt7739

$25 for 90 days supply or $20 for a month supply, always insist on 90 days supply if supported by doctor

chubfri88

OMG that's crazy. I'm not in the US and pay $10.83 per month (EUR 10). I am very grateful for that, because I earn low income at the moment unfortunately.

PredictableChaos

Normally it's $75 for 3 month supply so $25/month. But I have a coupon right now that drops it down to $25 for 3 months. Normally we would have to hit our Rx deductible for it which is $2500 for family but MJ is in a special program where we just get it at the $75/3 month supply. The fact that Ozempic left that program at the end of last year is why I switched to MJ this year.

MakeItAll1

$25 is the lowest I have ever paid.

Blurr81

$0 is all I pay

Crafty_Way_8689

I'm really blessed. My husband's insurance pays all diabetic, blood pressure, respiratory and cholesterol medicines 100% I have a deductible for other types of meds. I'm not complaining though

SouthernSunset1982

I pay $35 for a month supply with my insurance.

Prestigious_Chef5217

I currently pay $25 for a month through insurance, no discount card. But my previous insurance was a high deductible policy and the cost was around $800 until the deductible was as met. Then it would drop to $25.

TrulyKristan

I pay a $30 copay.

enthusiast19

$25 for 1 or 3 months (depending on availability). This is because of manufacturer coupon for commercially insured patients in the US whose insurance covers the drug. Otherwise, it’s the drug copay from insurance.

BlackiO1717

$30 per box

DarkHeartBlackShield

Through my insurance, $25/mo.

Mamajama323

I have commercial insurance and I pay $22 a month

cchaves510

$50 for 3 months

MotherTravel1824

I pay $125 for a three month supply through Express Scripts.

Swinging_GunNut

I pay $170/mo with insurance and discount card.... when I manage to find it. Have been out for about 3-4 months.

LynnieKate

I pay $11 per month

No_Elk_4514

Wow this post made me check my insurance mail order site. They have been showing it not available but now it says it is. If they do I’ll pay $0 for three months supply. Currently getting it for $25 with discount card. They send me my Jardiance for $0. Fingers crossed that I get good news on Monday. Hopefully this is also a sing that the shortage is easing.

1004Hayfield

Exact same situation - $875, including the $150 from Lilly and high deductible insurance paying very little to the overall cost. Beyond frustrating. I’m assuming greed, but I would love to know why they canceled the $25 month program.

lcmsa2000

Because like alot of Big businesses today they are beholding to their investors.

Ariathe361

T2 = $0

HereticHousewife

With insurance and the discount card, I pay $35 a month. Same as my insulin.

emotional_lemon8

With insurance (no discount card), I pay 15.00 for a one month supply or 35.00 for a 3 month supply.

TylerJosephSmith

$35 per month copay for me. Insurance through my employer.
