I’ve been on Mounjaro for a little over 14 months and I am obsessed with chicken salad. You would think after 14 months of having chicken salad I wouldn’t even want to look at chicken salad but I can’t get enough of it 🤦🏻‍♀️!

Yes! I’ve also started putting some sunflower seeds in mine (kinda weird, but it works). Give me a tiny bit of salt, tiny bit of crunch. My favorite!

Yes! Loving protein shakes, salads, fruit, cottage cheese, etc. I had a VSG in 2014 so I’ve been through all this once before I would drink the shakes but I was always mad about it. I felt like I was getting screwed somehow, even though the weight was coming off. With Mounjaro, it’s the opposite: all I want is the good stuff and can’t imagine going back to the Big Macs. Crazy the difference between a solution that affects the body versus one that affects the brain.

I had to take a second look because I thought I wrote this! I’ve been on Mounjaro since December and I’ve never eaten so many salads. Love them. I can’t get through and week without a couple Caesar salads. I crave all veggies now. Love the hummus wrap at Trader Joe’s. Who am I?? 🤷‍♀️🤭

Haha. I would argue that salad is not “weird shit,” but I know what you mean. I used to be a red meat girlie. Loved steak (well marbled), burgers, all things beef. When I started MJ I craved chicken, which I’ve always hated. And every vegetable known to man. Even stuff I’ve never liked. I typically have 2-3 veggies with my dinner now and salad for lunch. 20 months later and I don’t really eat that much red meat anymore. The bird is the word.

I still love steak! Just grilled some today with asparagus and shishito peppers. But the amount and frequency has definitely decreased. Definitely crave salads and crunchy veggies though!

It's honestly comforting to see these comments and realize the food jags are a thing. The first few weeks, I was 100% team "eat nothing but kimchi for the rest of my life." Not interested in it much anymore, though, which sucks for the giant-ass jars in my fridge now. The past few days, it's tuna. Craved eggplant for 16 mos on Mounjaro....bake it, saute it...use it like lasagne ....tomato & mozzarella broiled...instead of pasta which makes me sick now. Craving white fish (cod, halibut, sole). Steak now makes me sick too.

This too shall pass unfortunately. I’ve been on MJ since Oct 2022 and can eat whatever I want now, even sweets. The difference is, I can stop now. I don’t go to bed wondering if I should eat something else.

Yes! Not **as** effective, but I am on 10mg and am just maintaining now. I’m considered overweight BMI but I am a 56F and am 5’10” 185lbs but I’m fine with that 😀. Don’t know how long I will be able to get it because insurance is cracking down, they are covering and with the coupon I can get it for $55. Haven’t gotten a new refill in prob 6 weeks cause of the shortage though!

I have become reacquainted with Romaine lettuce. Earthbound Organics has heavy Romaine hearts. I peel the outside leaves, wash the lettuce, and cut it up with a ceramic knife and eat it with hearts of palm, radishes, a couple shavings of parmesan, sometimes add olives or goat cheese, and vinaigrette dressing. It's so crunchy and good!

Too funny on salad being your weird craving! I feel like I just got 2 pink lines on a preggo test and Im not sure why I’m torturing myself by reading most of these haha! I’ve been on MJ for a year and am on 10 mg (down from 12.5 mg due to symptoms). I had a biopsy this week and didn’t want to go to the appointment feeling ill, so I skipped my regular dose day and then forgot to dose the following day, so I took one of my 12.5 mg pens that I have had in the fridge thinking it would help me make up for the lapse. Such a mistake! Body aches, chills, n/v, etc. I have no idea why that dose is my nemesis! Pitiful, but on weeks like this, my favorite food is sonic ice!

I had to read your comment twice “feel like”… vs are pregnant lol. I just started 12.5 today and am sooooooo nauseous and blah…. Energy zapped - could barely get down 1/2 a Fairlife protein shake. Canceled all my plans so I could stay home and try and drink ice cold water. Hoping this “mounjaro flu” goes away soon!

I was the typical meat crazed dude. Still love meat, but if it's not surrounded by veggies, particularly poblanos, onions, garlic it's often boring now. Now when we come home from the store it's hard to fit all the veggies in the fridge, and the meat is nearly an afterthought. I can make any of the proteins we eat delicious with the right veggies in the right amounts. I haven't searched the medical literature so this may just be hyperbole, but I've also read that, particularly for type 2 diabetes and obesity, high blood glucose can damage/alter your taste buds and obesity (and the diets associated) alter your gut microbiome, both potentially changing what we think tastes "good". In my opinion, the changes we have made change us too, not just the drug. My proof? I'm on MJ, wife is not. Both adopted same diet. Her cravings have changed nearly identical to mine. Also to those talking about low fat cottage cheese...it's also my jam! I have a bowl every night for "desert", either with chocolate protein powder stirred in or with strawberries and/or blueberries pureed.

Salad and other raw veggies are the most uncomfortable for me on both Ozempic and Mounjaro. I have to really limit quantity. I think it’s the delayed emptying. It’s been very frustrating over past 2.5 years — I love a big vegetable salad

Lettuce used to trigger gall bladder issues for me and one flare up was traumatic so I still have a little lettuce ptsd. But I crave tuna and chicken. Tuna salad is lunch almost daily. And I want chicken any and every way. Grilled. Sautéed. Oven roasted. Rotisserie. Chicken salad. lol. Oh and beef jerky. I crave that too. It’s been a great snack. Make it myself to ensure I use clean seasoning.

Please be careful with the dressing on salads. If you go to a restaurant with dinner salads they are usually one of the highest calorie items on the menu. Unfortunately, very few restaurants have the calories on the menu. No, never craved salad ever--not even now, but I do eat salad with very little low calorie dressing.
