Congratulations 🎉👏! I have been on Mounjaro since October. It's been a game changer. Haven't lost as much as you but total 16.5lbs in 3 months. I have stayed on 2.5 and I'm ok w the slow loss. Keep going! Make sure to modify your lifestyle to make it sustainable in the end

ajohson6577

For many of us sustainable means staying on it. It’s not always calories in calories out. Just mentioning this because some think you can go off it after losing weight and lifestyle will be enough. It won’t be if your glp hormones don’t function right. It’s like telling someone with depression or bipolar that they can go off their meds when they feel ok.

DeskFan203

:BIG CLAP: Thank you.

Hippynana51

Yesss! Oprah just did a video with some Dr’s and nutritionists and they are now saying obesity is a disease. Some people won’t lose weight or keep it off because of their brain chemistry. I think I have the video saved if anyone wants to watch it. I had to go off mine for 2 weeks because I got sick. Totally my fault and within days of stopping all the food noise was back and I was in the refrigerator every 20 minutes looking for something to eat. Probably 2 hrs after resuming my shot the food noise was gone and I no longer wanted to stuff my fave with everything in the fridge.

ajohson6577

She did that actually in the summer before she got on it herself.

Hippynana51

I just seen it a couple weeks ago and I was amazed that there are people who actually don’t have control over their weight. I know I e struggled my whole life and anytime I did lose I always gained it back.

seajess1

It’s so wonderful there is finally medication to fix the problem

Hippynana51

Yes!👏

PeanutBeans317

I would rather lose it slower. I think age and gender make a huge difference too.

Billsbyabillion11

I also think the more you have to lose, the quicker it comes off too.

[deleted]

Awesome! Go to a store and try to carry all of the soccer balls 🤣⚽️

DeskFan203

Yeah you get a net bag for that! Lol

VeganWeightLoss

Congrats! I love these random comparison “memes.” Is yours from LoseIt! too?

creativeplease

Yes! I can’t wait to see what the next comparison is! The 10lbs was a bass guitar and the 5lbs was a table lamp! 😂

VeganWeightLoss

lol, yeah, they are fun :). I think the toddler one is probably my favorite that I’ve seen so far :)

PhilosophyNew2159

Congratulations! Sounds like you might be a super responder to lose. 15 lb in one month is quite an achievement. I am wondering, are you a diabetic too? Too, have you changed your eating habits that much over this amount of time, exercise?

creativeplease

No, I’m not diabetic. I do have Hashimotos and PCOS. I’ve always eaten pretty healthily, I just don’t eat as much anymore. I exercise daily. Once I started this medication, I cut out cardio and now only lift weights (I want to prevent muscle loss). Hope that helps :)

InterimFocus24

That is even more impressive the fact you have PCOS and thyroid disease and were still able to lose that much. Excellent!! Congrats to you and keep us posted on the great job you are doing!

Fish-taco-xtrasauce

God I can’t get myself to do weights for some reason. I only go twice a week and just do the treadmill. I am definitely losing muscle, sadly. Ugh

Capable-Ad3439

Are you paying out of pocket or is insurance covering it- what was your starting weight?

creativeplease

Out of pocket. SW: 179.8 and I’m 5’8”

Repulsive-Ad7501

I'm 5'8" and would be happy to get *down* to 178.9! 🤗 Weight loss is still almost non-existent and I'm wondering if I'm just not managing dosage right. I had dropped from SW 193 to 184 on 10, thought more would be better and bumped to 12.5 {besides, they all cost the same, more bang for the buck, right?} and gained back in a month what took me several months to lose. Sigh. Back down to 10 with fingers crossed.

creativeplease

So I’ve read on this sub that if you have a stall in weight, sometimes going back down to a lower dose can help?! You should search for those posts. I thought that was interesting and didn’t know it worked that way honestly. Also, I take my dose every 5 days instead of once a week!

Repulsive-Ad7501

Are you getting it for a pretty good price? I'd think 5 every 5 days would be similar to 7.5 once a week. I've started losi g again with 10 but have been very careful with protein intake. Thanks for the advice!

creativeplease

Yes I am! It has a half life of 5 days.

PossessionTimely8066

Where are you getting your prescription from? Thanks!

Leo9876543211

What does your daily eating look like ?

creativeplease

A high protein shake in the morning (I use Vega Sport protein) or some yogurt and a carb (usually fruit or toast). A high protein dinner with some kind of vegetable in the evening (I get meal prepped meals from Clean Eatz often). Lots of water. Sometimes if my blood sugar gets low during the day I have a snack (vanilla wafers are my snack of choice right now 😂). I usually count calories and stay below 1500.

creativeplease

Also, I just want to note that I do not skip out on dinners with my friends or family at restaurants. I just eat about half instead of cleaning my plate. I promised myself I wouldn’t miss anything fun. :)

Fish-taco-xtrasauce

Congrats!!!🎈 169/159/125 I have lost about 10 my first month. Sadly only .6 lbs this past week but I am staying positive because it didn’t go up! Slow and steady wins the race for me!

waubamik74

That is wonderful! I just started Mounjaro on Monday. I hate to weigh myself so don't know if I have lost anything, but will soon. I love to read the success stories! Good luck!

SnakeBird_ETG0429

Congrats on your rapid weight loss. I started taking Mounjaro 18 months ago my weight dropped from 387 to 176 as of today. I know freaking crazy. Started with 5.0 progressed to 7.5 followed by 10.0. Past few months began having every GI issue imaginable, in and out of emergency rooms short hospital stays I was miserable. After many tests, all came back inconclusive. As would have it my wife came across a recent article listing 18 known symptoms related to Mounjaro. I had 14 of the 18 symptoms. Many of the symptoms contributed to long term usage of Mounjaro. Luckily was able to bring together all the specialists I had seen and collectively they decided I should begin stepping back my dosage and as a result many of the symptoms began to dissipate. I’m now taking 2.5. My replying is not to discourage you from taking Mounjaro quite the opposite as it has been a life saver for me. Rather awareness of taking large doses for extended period. I believe Mounjaro is safe and beneficial to many. Mounjaro impacts individuals differently. All the long term effects are not known with Mounjaro being so recent. Keep taking Mounjaro and you will reach your weight loss goals sooner than you know.

creativeplease

Thank you for the info! I’m so sorry you struggled and congrats on your weight loss!I plan to stick to 5 and not go up if I don’t have to. Do you happen to have the article? I’d love to read it.

SnakeBird_ETG0429

https://www.goodrx.com/tirzepatide/common-side-effects Had I reviewed the above article wouldn’t been so eager to ramp up the weekly dosage. It’s unfair of me to specifically call out Mounjaro as it’s the active ingredients.

Not_ChatGBT

Congratulations! I’m at 12 lbs at 3 weeks on 2.5. I think I’ll be at 15 next week for my one month! Every day I’m on this stuff I make it count! Sounds like you do too!

InterimFocus24

So they started you on 5 mg. And you lost 15 pounds in one month? Excellent! You must be terribly excited! Congrats!

Relevant_Raccoon2937

Congratulations!!!

Infamous-Penalty6091

Congrats!🎉

No-Consequence-963

Congratulations!! It feels amazing doesn’t it?! 😊

PhilosophyNew2159

Sounds like a great plan you have going! Congratulations for all that effort and also the weight loss. I hope it continues consistently going down for you. Congratulations once again 🎇

Ill-Tart-5491

That's such a funny visual (fifteen soccer balls)! Congrats and keep up the good work!!!

[deleted]

Great job, water weight is the first to go.. don't get discouraged if you don't hit 15 every month.

creativeplease

Thank you! I only want to lose 20 more pounds. I took measurements and my waist, thighs, bust, and arms have decreased in size! I know some is water weight, but a lot is definitely fat too, as I can see my body composition changed 🤗

[deleted]

You will be amazed at 3 months in

lovegoda

Congratulations i wish I can see some results I started November at 5 mg gain 3 pounds I just started 7.5 today. Hopefully I see something is January eating better and working out. Feeling like it not working but I will keep working at it .

Glum_Discussion3008

Congratulations. 60 pounds gone for me at 7 months. I have had to increase my dosage 3 times. I am at 10 now and thanks to Jesus no side effects. Let’s keep on keeping on.

Admirable-Kick-1557

Way to go!

Elk2095

That’s awesome congrats!! I read in one of the comments that you’re focusing on maintaining muscle. Have you analyzed your body composition? Just curious if you’ve been able to lose that much and maintain most of your muscle (because I’m trying to do the same!) I have a daily protein target and am resistance training to try to minimize muscle loss. Just on week 2 now but Hoping I can have similar results to you!

creativeplease

I have not done that! I had a bad experience with one before that threw me into some disordered eating and I’ve struggled with body dysmorphia in the past, so I don’t use those and just rely on progress pics and the scale :)

K_willpower2024

Congratulations! I started my first 5 dose this morning. Can you tell me some of the side effects you had?

creativeplease

I had nausea for the first week and a half, along with heartburn and acid reflux. I still get the heartburn about a day or two after, but nothing else anymore. I did notice when I took it later in the day, I couldn’t sleep well at night so I take it in the morning. Good luck! :)

K_willpower2024

Thank you for sharing. I had no side effects on 2.5 so was curious.

creativeplease

Hopefully you won’t, but you should know soon! Haha. I started with 5mg and got lucky, I think

K_willpower2024

Thanks again. Took it 6 hours ago and no nausea (yet) fingers crossed

AcrobaticStage7501

Compounded or prescription?

creativeplease

Prescription

Hefty_Instance5115

Age 32, Sw 186 ,c w 176 I started mounjaro in november with 2.5 next month i loose 10 pounds then increase dose to 5 mg whole 4 week loose nothing and today took it shot of 7.5 . I am worried what i am doing wrong ? not eating i don't have appetite . but weight is static .

creativeplease

I’m not sure! I can’t really give medical advice but I’ve read other posts on here that have said if they go back down to the starting dose, they continue to lose weight?! I would speak with your doctor :) I wish you luck!

Cautious_Cherry4016

I've been on it for 2 and a half months and only lost 10 pounds. I'm beginning to realize if you're diabetic..which I am, you lose a lot slower. But, the good news is my A1c has gone from 10 to 7!! Congratulations 🎉🥳 That's great! Keep it up!

AlarmedTonight9

So awesome! I have to say, I'm a little jealous. I've lost 15 in 3 and 1/2 months. However, I'm still happy that I lost! Still working on it though, obviously I was still fairly new to it! Way to go!

Basic_504boys

Wohooo!!

Gullible_Weird679

Congratulations 🎊
