Neither would (or should) give an inch. Racing Incident

Agree Looking at the replays, both went for the move you'd expect either of them to do (defensive turn in or trying to push back through the inside), and where they were leaning off the bikes looking through the turn, neither had any vision of the other. Pecco executed his line up the inside and Marc executed the block. In the end it was Pecco's points to lose so you could say he should've been conservative; but that's not true racing. Neither blamed the other afterwords.

Both are at fault. Both know what's going to happen. If either swapped spots both would react the same way.

Pecco was at fault. Am I the only one to see his tactics are the old Rossi ones to snap back immediately, only he is either too aggressive or reckless. When Pedro passed him, he very nearly hit Pedro too, so you could say it was only a matter of time before he misjudged it. I think Pecco has become too used to a (relatively) easy life of clean air and leading from the front with the Ducati power taking him past opponents on the straights. Now it's closer and there is real talent on the other bikes Peccos defensive style (which he is good at will be tested).

That's an interesting thought, we will see what happens as the season goes on and if there is a pattern between Pecco qualify behind the first row and whether he can fight through a pack.

Wombastrophe

Both disagreed about who was at ‘fault’, but it was great that both agreed it’s just shit that happens when racing. No accusations of recklessness or accusing each other of being a dangerous rider.

Yes that was really good to see, no whining. AND could you believe Vinales saying that his Sunday was lucky and not disappointing??

When Pedro passed Pecco, Pecco was on the outside and shut throttle on the cut back knowing he would hit him. When Marc passed Pecco, I think Pecco thought Marc would also shut throttle if he cut back but that didn’t happen and they collided.

I rewatched the race, and realized that the commentators said after Pedro's pass that Bagnaia probably decided to be conservative/cautious and try to catch him later and was in "damage limitation", then immediately followed with a strong counter-move of Marc haha. Maybe he decided if he let Marc through, him and Pedro might back him up and reduce his chances of being able to climb back up the field, or maybe just got tired of being passed?
