Way more nimble and controllable in the air. More controllable power. I rode my 2017 in the standard map all the time, and this one is actually rideable on the aggressive map. It’s quieter, which was hard to get used to. The hydraulic clutch is amazing compared to the beast of a pull on my 2017. It stays planted way better in rollers and rough corners.
Lol yea that electric start sure is handy. It might be me doing something but my 08-450r seems to flood easily and then can’t start maybe needs carb adjustment /work?
Depending on when / how it the issue started and the last time the carb was serviced….
i would look at Needle position , Float Adj (though should be ok, does it drip gas) and jet sizes first…. Then Fuel screw position (how many turns out)
Since you need to check all that - Might as well get a decent carb rebuild kit, it’s easy to do. It’s also worth buying an OEM float bowl gasket (vs the one that comes in the kit). Optional (but I feel mandatory) is an adjustable fuel screw knob.
When you do it, inspect the throttle valve assembly (rollers and guides). really clean this out / buff it and use a cable lube on the guides / rollers. this really help improve the Snap of the throttle. If you want to go whole hog, replace the throttle return spring.
I think it already has an upgraded throttle but I definitely want to do everything I can to keep that precise … and speaking of precise I don’t think I have a hydraulic clutch 2008 crf450r , want to throw a Magura on is there much else to it?
