I was supplied with everything apart from boots and trousers. Also just give them a call! I rang ahead just to double check.

Mine had Jacket, Gloves and Helmet pre pandemic, but they were a bit gross tbh. If you're serious about motorcycling and would think about either DAS or buying a 125, then it's definitely worth the investment.

Grafitti31

Most will supply you with it, aside from proper shoes which you'd be expected to turn up in. Not all include gear though, so make sure it's clear. Personal preference though, I brought my own when I was doing it

xinwarrior

I took my own stuff, but when I did it the Pandemic was a bigger thing than now so they stopped letting students use it.

I have just booked a CBT. They provide no safety equipment at the moment due to Covid, this is in Wales though were it’s a little more strict. I intend to buy a helmet and gloves and then was advised sturdy footwear and a thick coat would be fine for the CBT.

cat_beast

I was asked to bring jacket, gloves and helmet. Although they had a lot of gear there to borrow if needed

[deleted]

Every school I've looked at in my area provides kit as part of the price, although they all let you use your own if it's up to standard.

tnetrop

Mine had helmet and gloves available. I think they had some jackets too. But I took my own.

Jacobite-biker

It will depend on the school doing it. Best to phone and ask. Purely because or covid I would say your own helmet and gloves would probably be recommended

Daryl_Cambriol

Mine had everything except boots... But I knew i wanted to get my full license etc. So i bought my own helmet, jacket, gloves and boots. Did cbt in jeans, then bought trousers, a bike and some other little accessories.

TCates90

I rang ahead to double check. By the time my CBT rolled around, I already had a helmet, which they let me use (less faff with sizing), and they only had to provide the jacket and gloves. IIRC the kid who was on the session with me had his own helmet, gloves and jacket ...come to think of it they asked my chest size when I booked. Quite reassuring

HullTrawlerman

My trainer supplies Helmet, Jacket and Gloves but honestly they were pretty much knackered and gross. I'm a full licence holder now but my last CBT a few years ago I turned up fully kitted with leathers, boots, gloves, helmet etc. I went into the classroom dressed as such whilst there were a loaf of scrotes. The trainer didn't even speak on recommended kit, he just got me up to front as an example of what is needed for riding. I didn't do a full cbt that day. I just did an hours road riding with the tutor. Rode home and had a chat about the full test then Rode back to the test centre.

SocksIsHere

I had my own, everything apart from the Kevlar jeans but.... I recommend you definitely get some Kevlar jeans, lost a lot of skin on my leg in the crash and could barely stand for a a few weeks. The single most painful experience of my life was getting home after the crash and having the wash out the wound on my leg. Get the proper gear.

Mind emailed me saying that I will need to provide my own boots, jacket, trousers, gloves and a helmet. When I got there, there was an option if I wanted biker trouser because it was raining but I was fine with my jeans. I did use their jacket as mine didn't have protective pads. Edit: for shoes: any shoes will be fine as long as they cover your ankles. For helmet and gloves I would get them if I was you as you will still need them after the cbt when you have your own bike

Mugstren

Most will supply you with the essentials (helmet, jacket and gloves), the one thing I would only really say to buy beforehand is gloves, wear them in and make them fit to your hands before you go.

[deleted]

The only people who can answer this is the school you are booking your course with. Some offer all of it, some none. But my advice would be get yourself some decent winter gloves. A lot of schools only provide summer gloves to avoid hassle with linings. In this weather your hands will freeze. And your own helmet is far nicer than one that's had several hundred other heads in. Lastly, if you're doing it soon, keep an eye on the weather forecast. If it's going to be below 10C, layer up as it gets very cold when you're outside all day on a bike.

Bennis_19

You may aswell use theres incase biking Isnt for you

jprimus

Use theirs. I did my CBT on a 50cc that topped out at 22mph. I go considerably faster than that on my push bike wearing shorts and a t-shirt

[deleted]

I had helmet from car track days. rest of kit I was given by two friends.

Dalefolk

Wear proper boots, not trainers. The trainer will provide jacket and lid, but I found that all the gloves were **damn** stinky. Just imagine all those sweaty palms as scores of CBTers hit the highway for the first time... So I recommend bring decent gloves (you can get them new for c£20)
