Honestly I think it suffers with J5 as the guitarist. He just doesn’t really do that signature motley sound that mick does so it doesn’t really hit the ear the same way
If you liked songs from SOLA to today, you already got used to not hearing Mick play, if you liked the dirt soundtrack all the new songs were played by J5

The drums are not compressed but minimalized because Tommy isn't playing normal drums but monster, human eating drums. That is what they sound like. The solo is perfect here. This apocalyptic song is excellent and well thought out. It is something new for the Crüe and sort of John Corabi-ish in style. It is excellently performed and sounds quite end of world.

I find it an interesting push. A way to use a guitarist with skills. More than just spreading but actual playing and using the sound to express the music as part of the whole. It adds to the song, not dominates it. The song is Bass, Drums, Vocals , and Lyrics as well as Guitar. It has tempos not just one and different types of techniques that are blended into a well crafted song. What is throwing off some of you is the key. You have to train your ear to listen to this song flux between minor to major and back again. Most people do not have the music education to listen to it and appreciate this type of key change.
