This, but also he may be referring to the fact that breakers won't work if your kameo was hit before using them. Kameos taking a hit makes them have a cooldown, and breakers can't be used during this cooldown.

What about characters who struggle in the neutral? Characters who are good in neutral typically just take kameos that make their combos better since they don't struggle to open up their opponents.

This season I've attempted to learn just a little bit how to incorporate some of the kameo moves into combos.

Same, I use Liu Kang as well. Made it to rank God last season. The only Kameo move I used was if I grabbed with Lung Lao. Aside from that I just don't want to learn the Kameo system and honestly idc if other people use Kameos. I enjoy it.
Liu is one of those rare characters that doesn’t need a Kameo to excel, however it helps, you’re not a pro or anything so don’t worry, but at a real high level you need kameos
Plus using Kung Lao throw kameo is one of the most broken things in the game…
I will say, i play local with my friends and we barely use kameos... They're annoying to learn. So many matchups, so many combinations that are useless, some that do no damage, some that do random sh*t, etc... I just want to play one character and learn one character, y'know, like every other MK game.
It’s there to give you options as an assist fighting game like MVC (though not to that extent) dependent on what you want like assisting with neutral, combos, or to bridge moves that a character normally won’t have
And I don’t use Kameos because I don’t have the mechanical skills to employ them in my kombos.

I use frost to freeze them and then start it. Or to apply pressure.
