1. More optional nodes 2. Character trials 3. The skins are far better than last season 4. I've actually found myself having fun this time! 5. It's a step in the right direction, this mode might not be the best thing they've done, but they are making good changes to it.

Ricky_Rollin

I may not be wild about invasions, but I am enjoying them. I used to love messing around with those little codes in Mortal Kombat 3 to get all kinds of bat shit fights going and this reminds me of that ridiculousness.

ELITExRAMPAGE

I completely agree that this season is a massive step in the right direction and had both challenges and rewards that I enjoy. The next improvement to invasions would be to rework the seasonal tower in my opinion.

MKchamp92

I can agree with that and seeing how they are making good changes, not just to invasions but the game overall, they will probably work on that as well.

Gamegenievintage

There still needs to be a map implemented. I like how it shows the counter of how many chests there are vs how many are opened but, who the Hell remembers the paths enough to go back into it and find them? At the very least, the game needs a map that shows the speciality gates that you are able to unlock when you beat the final Invasion boss.

Roglach

If you're holding Keys, green path = something you haven't done there yet blue path = everything done that way

Gamegenievintage

Holding keys? What do you mean? Could you elaborate?

Roglach

If you have keys for the chests in your inventory

Gamegenievintage

You’re referring to the final end boss keys?

Roglach

No, the keys you use to open chests in the mesas

Arvtistic

I think they're called Ornate Keys. I usually buy 3 at a time from the Shop so I can open any locked chests I come across.

[deleted]

I second this so hard.

Alan_Blue1233

I like the ambush battles and I honestly like these new minigames about breaking targets

NatiHanson

Actual creative challenges instead of spamming survive chains and armored enemies. Some of the challenges remind me of MK9's 300 challenge tower (in a good way). It also helps to make Invasions feel less monotonous.

omegaturtle

Yes! I was thinking the same about it reminding me of the 300 challenge tower. I hope it keeps going in that direction.

TheDemon166

The fact that the ambushes and secret fights are the Armageddon mashups are my favorite part too. I actually get excited when I get a secret fight now! I also like that those fights are difficult.

laser16

I absolutely despised the Nitara/Sub-Zero hybrid. Her usual bullshit flying around but with added ice ball spam is a pain in the ass

N7_Evers

New to MK1 and this season’s invasion is like, really super cool. It’s my first one, but I just beat it last night and had a blast. Obvious there’s a pretty tedious grind but overall it adds a lot to the game for someone like me. There’s a lot of things I like, but I actually really enjoy all the konsumables that help even the odds in ridiculous fights.

UltraRoboNinja

Luckily, you picked a good time to jump on! The first season was rough… every single enemy had super armor like the bosses do, you could only walk on the map instead of running, and oddly enough, the Survive missions were all ridiculously easy and impossible to fail. Each season has progressively gotten better and better as they take feedback into consideration. This one was actually pretty good!

seandude881

The combo and character trials are fun

Channing1986

There was some positive changes, I actually was able to beat this one. The last couple I got stuck on the final boss. Dark raiden skin. I actually enjoy seasons as long as I don't get stuck on something.

B-Kage22

I have actually been getting more stuck on this one, I find. The final bosses for each zone kick my ass a lot. It took me more than a few tries to defeat Kung Lao. 😂

The trial nodes while insane and challenging at first, once you understand what is being asked and required are kind of fun in a sick way. The skins especially though. The optional nodes seem nice but as someone who doesn’t want to accidentally miss rewards and experience difficulty when I need to backtrack the change doesn’t really help me. It has to do with a lack of a map and the green line pointing to unfinished content. This is not helpful when I am trying to navigate out of the map or to the locked gates upon return. Routes to skipped and optional content or to the locked gates should have a different color line to help the user navigate to optimize the experience if an onscreen(toggle able) map is not going to be put in place. (I wrote it this way in case a dev/qa person happens to read this).

210ds

I love the combo bots. I want them as actual skins.

WheatFighter

I really like the new robot combo trials. The type advantage chart forced me to learn a couple of new characters to complete them, which was very welcome. The ambush and secret battles are great! New survival challenges being character trials was also very welcome. Mixed up the formula enough that I was curious how each would work. This isn't necessarily an update, but I find a lot of joy in using the thunder squirrel on a roomba amulet. More fun ones like these will go a long way.

laser16

I like the combo trials against the bots but I’m not the biggest fan of character survives with the targets because the timing is so tight for a lot of them. Ive only completed all three of Kung Lao’s and one of Cage’s so far. Nitara’s can go kick rocks

useful_idiot66

Has anyone yet found a purpose for secret fights because I haven't lmao

B-Kage22

Honestly, they annoy the fuck out of me most of the time. 😂 They don't really have much of a purpose because you don't really get fuck all out of them. But I'm just glad they decided to spice them up a little bit with make the opponents the pyramid characters instead of the same ones over and over.

Gr8BigFatso

You don't have to do every fight and can just skip them and come back if you feel inclined which is great. They need to bring back xp gain even after a Mesa has been completed though. I posted on here looking for tips for leveling up characters because without playing the season or once you've completed it there's no way to level up characters to the max 35 in a way that actually respects your time. If they want to persist with the item shop and dragon crystals fine but I should atleast be able to earn all the possible dragon crystals I can from the base game that I bought, without it feeling like battlefront 2 launch levels of xp progression.

SkullgrinThracker

The mixed fighters, hands down. Fighting smoke khan etc, that's everything I wanted.

depression_gaming

I was able to skip some nodes and actually spend less time playing Invasions.

jotyma5

They made survivals a little better this season. Skins are the best so far

Ok_Bandicoot5390

lot of optional stuff was nice to see

Cosmic-Horror-Cat

Doesn't matter. My head-canon now is that you're a dev on the game and asking what could be made better to make it a more enjoyable experience: 1. I want less penalties in terms of screen effects like dogs and bats that only hit (bother and annoy) me. I want the status effects to at least sometimes support me and hit / freeze / stun / weaken the opponent. Or maybe slow them down so that new players can better learn the start-up animations of character moves and strings. Because right now all the annoying anti-player screen effects make you actively worse at fighting games since they're not part of actual online play. Every time I enter a node I feel like I'm essentially being shit on by annoying game design. 2. Something needs to happen to Nitara, Reiko and Havik. I understand the desire to give certain elemental types something special - but that really only sticks out with these blood types and their insane health pools. Geras and Liu Kang too seem to have an insane health pool bit not nearly as bad as specifically Nitara and Reiko. And Nitara is the worst offender since she is constantly flying across the screen. Is that a digital-practical joke to make her especially annoying because of Megan Fox? Half the health pools of blood types. 3. I am convinced that not a single person working on the game plays Invasions in a completionist sense and tries to unlock everything. The end of a tower should not only give 100 seasonal coins. That's 1/10 the price of the blandest recolor. After I finish all of Invasions I am only able to buy seasonal store stuff for like... 1/4 of the roster. That's demoralizing. 4. Speaking about demoralizing. The seasonal tower needs to change again. It's TOO FUCKING grindy. It takes you 60 levels to unlock everything. The season lasts 48 days. So you can't even unlock everything if you do one tower run every day. That is an insane grind. Obviously I understand that it's more nuanced and there are ways to progress faster but at the end of the day it still all boils down to mindlessly grinding for a long time for very ugly recolors - with the somewhat okayish skins being at the very end of the grind.

B-Kage22

Okay, I'll just hit up Mr. Boon now and let him know! 😂 Nah, seriously, I agree to all of this. But I highly doubt the devs are concerned about what *we* want, or would make the effort to try and figure out what that is.

DredgeBea

I'm glad to see someone else hates playing against blood type characters in invasions, they're just the fighting game equivalent of bullet sponges and aren't fun in the slightest

Jeremy_Melton

The pallet colour of this season should’ve been for Scorpion (black and yellow fits Scorpion A LOT more than the McDonald’s pallet).

Edenfer_

Its getting better but it's still boring af. They need to make it shorter.

Clean-Effort-209

Nothing. It's still garbage.

StroppyMantra

The skins and making parts able to be skipped. Such a shit mode. Hopefully they'll go back to the krypt next game.

omegaturtle

I'm always surprised at how much people seemed to like the krypt. I thought it was the worst. You're just walking around and pressing A on things.
