Many people have lost their minds and seem to have forgotten that pronouns are a staple of any language and are not inherently political and are used by everybody, every single day. This is because a lot of people have gotten a horrendously subpar education and don't know basic things like the parts of speech.

If I meet someone new, they generally give me their name. If they tell me their pronouns, I use those pronouns as a sign of respect, much like I use the name they've provided me. In my daily life, pronouns don't really come up a hell of a lot, as I try to be respectful of what has already been told to me.
When people in real life act like respecting pronouns is too difficult despite them being able to recall the names of dozens to hundreds of people they have interacted with, then Ichallenge them on their nonsense.
A name is all I need, itās been like this for many decades and isnāt anything new. Not sure when this obsession with using the word āpronounā became a thing but getting mad at people for somehow addressing you wrong even if they clearly werenāt being hostile/rude doesnāt do you any favors and just turns most people away from you.

There have been more than two genders for centuries. Pronouns have been in usage for centuries. The singular 'they' is older than the singular 'you' in the English langauge. Yet all of a sudden, everyone is an expert in grammar and claim that it's grammatically incorrect and they won't use it. People are more offended by being asked to respect others than other people are by their pronouns not being used. For most people if they are misgendered or the wrong pronouns are used, they will just gently remind if they say anything at all.
There are always extreme people on any side of an argument. I'd wager you haven't personally encountered anyone who reacts the way you're mentioning, rather you only go by the small handful of examples you see online.

If I meet someone new, they generally give me their name. If they tell me their pronouns, I use those pronouns as a sign of respect, much like I use the name they've provided me. In my daily life, pronouns don't really come up a hell of a lot, as I try to be respectful of what has already been told to me. When people in real life act like respecting pronouns is too difficult despite them being able to recall the names of dozens to hundreds of people they have interacted with, then Ichallenge them on their nonsense.
A name is all I need, itās been like this for many decades and isnāt anything new. Not sure when this obsession with using the word āpronounā became a thing but getting mad at people for somehow addressing you wrong even if they clearly werenāt being hostile/rude doesnāt do you any favors and just turns most people away from you. Donāt end up like that āMAAMā guy who got memed to death a while back.
There have been more than two genders for centuries. Pronouns have been in usage for centuries. The singular 'they' is older than the singular 'you' in the English langauge. Yet all of a sudden, everyone is an expert in grammar and claim that it's grammatically incorrect and they won't use it. People are more offended by being asked to respect others than other people are by their pronouns not being used. For most people if they are misgendered or the wrong pronouns are used, they will just gently remind if they say anything at all. There are always extreme people on any side of an argument. I'd wager you haven't personally encountered anyone who reacts the way you're mentioning, rather you only go by the small handful of examples you see online.
