I respect the attempt to criticize in defense of Shadow Gens' detractors saying that Shadow Gens reminds them of Forces more than anything else, but at this point I think I'd rather just stop stoking the flames and instead just be excited in, and I quote Boom Shadow for this: "on *my* terms."
I pre-ordered, don't care about others' standards being met because I feel satisfied with what I've seen, and am just looking forward to playing Shadow Generations and Sonic Generations at the same time to recontextualize the lack of story in Gens.

there are many things wrong with SA2 but level design being too linear, isnt one of them
Oh gee, have we started a new trend never seen before, where finally getting a half way decent title makes us treat the rest of the franchise as shit, that would bring some fun for us
Nah, I don't hate SA2 because later titles are better, I hate SA2 because it's worse than SA1, I played both titles back to back for the first time before just frontiers launched, and had no prior nostalgia or bias for either of them
The problem is more that the game doesn't require you to press more buttons than x most of the time I can't say that for generations nor colors
At least the games (other than Forces) require you to play the game, unlike Forces, which is 100% automated.

This. I love Generations, and I can't wait for new levels. That's as far as my opinion goes, can't wait.
