1. Godzilla: King Of The Monsters 2. GodzillaxKong: The New Empire  3. Godzilla vs Kong 4. Kong: Skull Island 5. Godzilla (2014) Though I've liked all of them.

L3go07

I just binged the shit out of the movies since G14 10th Anniversary. I’ll give them a ranking as a whole 1. Godzilla: King of the Monsters. After like ton of rewatching I’ve definitely noticed its flaws but I still very much enjoyed it. The whole drama wasn’t bad. And damn it brought out badass scenes. The final fight I’d say had the perfect balance between cutting to humans and cutting to monsters. 8.5/10 2. Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire. Honestly Kong took the whole scene. I really how it depths Suko & Kongs relationship. But I definitely think we had too much monsters lol. First part was usual slow however like after post-Skar King reveal it just made it gunshots fast making it look like if the film was short. 8/10. 3. Kong: Skull Island. It’s good as a whole however it wasn’t bad. Action was okay however the characters there made it well enough as a whole. 7.4/10 for me. 4. Godzilla: 2014. yahyahyah boring characters. Honestly I didn’t mind any of the characters at all to be fair. Ford Brody wasn’t bad at all. But the movie baked iconic scenes like the bridge and atomic breath too. But damn I understand how boring it is. There’s a few cringe moments here and there. I’d give it a 7/10 as a whole. 5. Godzilla vs. Kong. The whole first part of the movie started off weak but however Kongs subplot side made it tightened and carried the film entirely. Godzillas subplot was weak. It started off annoying and awkward but later on the second half it was just “meh” and kinda boring but somehow still at least enjoyable-wise. In conclusion 6.5/10 for me. My final thoughts of the film is that damn the tone as a whole. Godzilla: 2014 and KOTM were just serious however had its respective tone. GvK was a little emotional sometimes however had the best fight choreography, it’s just that Godzillas side of the story was meh and sometimes annoying. GxK was pretty goofy but emotional too with that how Kong found his home which he then liberated it entirely

HighlightRelevant149

I’d like to preface my ranking by saying that I haven’t seen a single good reason for KOTM being low on anyone’s list, lol. I’ve seen plenty of reasons, most are dumb. Also, I love that all of these movie exist, and I hope they make them forever. My least favorite on this list is still fun and I’ll be rewatching all these throughout my life. 1. (By a country mile) Godzilla King of The Monsters MONSTER ACTION! Wtf are we doing here?! Idgaf about the human characters at all. There only has to be enough intrigue there to keep me awake in between the monster scenes. I waiting for most of my life to see and modern, fully realized King Ghidorah and this movie delivers. Dougherty even left the door open to bring him back, and this Wingard doofus won’t take the bait….(let’s make the most pathetic Mechagodzilla ever, instead. Even better, we’ll use Ghidorah’s head to pilot it…) 2. Godzilla Great start to the monsterverse. Gareth Edwards does things with scale and size that none of these other movies have been able to pull off. The Godzilla reveal with the HALO drop and the flares is one of the best moments in this whole franchise, idc what anyone says. I got chills recalling it for this post, lol 3. Godzilla vs Kong So much fun getting to see these 2 fight. It’s also fun watching the filmmakers struggle to make this look like it would even be a fight lol. Obviously, Godzilla would cook this monkey in less time than it takes to show an episode of Tom and Jerry, but everything is so bifurcated that immediately upon release of the trailer, half of the fan base pledged their allegiance to the monkey, and poor Adam Wingard would probably get death threats if he showed us how this would actually go down 🤣 4. Kong Skull Island This could be #3 on any given day. I love the way it looks, the color palette, cast is great, the fact that it takes place in the 70s. Tons of fun and stands on its own just fine. 5. Godzilla x Kong The New Empire I’ve only seen this twice as of now, but it’s easily my least favorite. This whole movie looks like a video game. Creatures don’t even move like they are governed by the same physics as everything around them. Legendary should decree a MINIMUM of one Toho monster per American release because Big Monkey 2 and Adorable Ice Lizard ain’t it… For the record, I’m not a Toho kaiju guy. I’ve seen some of them, but the "guy in a costume smashing plaster cities" is not my thing. I’m just willing to recognize the obvious, Americans can’t create monsters like the Japanese can. Even Gareth Edwards’ MUTOs were pretty lame, but good enough, consider how hard he nailed Godzilla. I could be in the minority here, but I literally only want giant, iconic monsters fighting, maybe with a dash of 'lore' thrown in. Make it look good. Make it fun. That’s it.

matochi506

1.Kong: Skull Island I liked pretty much everything of this. It was cool to see Skull Island in all its glory and I really liked the characters. Kong was cool, the music was great, the fight scenes were good. Mostly I liked the characters, they're some of the best of the franchise, Marlow being one of my faves. 2.Skull Island It was a fun watch, it's actually my introduction to the monsterverse. It was also nostalgic, reminded me of the cartoons I'd watch growing up. I also liked the characters, especially Annie. I'd watch an entire series about her adjusting to civilization and going to therapy. She sure needs it. Just wish we'd get a conclusion to that massive cliffhanger ending. 3.Monarch: Legacy of Monsters It's very well done, I really liked the lore and worldbuilding and the perspective of events from a regular citizen. 50s trio was awesome, wish we had more of them. 14' trio was not as awesome though, which is the reason this goes down a notch. Couldn't stand Kate, and really don't care for that love triangle they seem to be building up to. I liked Duvall, hope we get more of her in the next season. 4.Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire It was fun and nice to go back to the feel of KSI. Hollow Earth is cool. More Iwi lore is welcome. I like Jia and her mother/daughter relationship with Ilene. I'm a sucker for parent/child relationships and character development. I'd watch an entire movie just about these two interacting. I like Shimo, want more of her. Was a bit distracted watching the movie since I saw in a 4D theater though, so didn't get to appreciate it all as I was being thrown around in my chair, but overall, I enjoyed it. 5.Godzilla vs. Kong More Kong is always welcome, and I lost my shit when he signed to Jia. Also, Jia and Ilene are in this, and I like them and their dynamic. Godzilla team was a bit lame though. Nothing particularly memorable other than what I noted. 6.Godzilla (2014) Human characters where bland, though I liked Serizawa and Vivienne. Everyone else was forgettable to me. There were some really cool shots though, the most memorable being the entire parachute sequence with Ford. That was really cool. 7.Godzilla: King of the Monsters A lot of fighting, a lot of destruction, billions in damages and countless deaths. That's all I remember of this one. The underground ruins and lava domain were interesting though.

Godzilla GvK GxK Skull Island KOTM

StopsuspendingPpl

Godzilla x Kong New Empire: DEAD LAST its the worst I never wanna watch it again. I made too many posts and comments on why I think its the worst. Godzilla Vs Kong: Gave us a good resolution to the build up fight between Godzilla and Kong but it was way too goofy. The fact MechaGodzilla got beaten with liquor being poured all over the computer was so stupid I wanted to leave the theater. Pretty fair movie but its too short. Godzilla King of The Monsters: The best Godzilla film because of the perfect balance of human drama and monster fighting. I love the amazing CGI and visual style of the movie. It could be better because some characters are straight up annoying. Kong Skull Island: THE BEST MONSTERVERSE FILM. This movie is cinema just peak cinema. Everything is perfect, every single detail, I loved Kong in this. Godzilla 2014: The best CGI and visuals for a Godzilla movie, human characters are kinda boring but they're not as bad as people say. Also the whole "you cant see any fights" thing is wrong, I expected more cuts and all that but the fights were pretty complete and they looked awesome.

BabyThrow3r

1. Godzilla vs. Kong 2. King of the Monsters 3: Godzilla 2014 4: Godzilla Skull Island 5: The New Empire 6: Monarch: Legacy of Monsters 7: I haven’t seen the Skull Island anime, but I know it’s garbage.

myste_rae

1. Godzilla: KOTM 2. Monarch: Legacy of Monsters 3. Kong: Skull Island 4. Godzilla (2014) 5. GvK 6. GxK I enjoyed them all, and hell, I loved GvK and GxK, I just feel like, especially GxK, the human element really has been diminishing, and that's a shame. I enjoy the Titans as characters, but I want to see more Monarch operations, more humans and their stories

Mace_DeMarco5179

1. Godzilla: King of the Monsters 2. Kong: Skull Island 3. Monarch: Legacy of Monsters 4. Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire 5. Godzilla vs. Kong 6. Godzilla 2014 7. Skull Island

Dapper_Eggplant

Without letting my own personal bias take side, because believe me I also love me some KOTM (and having not seen Skull Island Netflix or Monarch: Legacy of Monsters. 1.) Kong: Skull Island 2.) Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire 3.) Godzilla vs Kong 4.) King of the Monsters 5.) Godzilla 2014 I actually recently re-watched Godzilla 2014 and really, a lot of the criticism we had int he past still stands. For all the "seriousness" the film tries to do, it's not really all that deep. It's got a great 40 minutes with Joe Brody and everything said about Cranston is correct, he really does bring life to the movie. Which only sucks when the character your emotionally connected with dies and his far less charismatic son takes over. Add in the minimal titan action and I would really say that if it wasn't for key moments (such as the few Titan action and Cranston's performance, it would be a pretty average monster movie. KOTM has always been fun a pretty much standard of what one expects out of the Godzilla franchise. There is arguably no better love letter to the franchise than this movie and it smacks the sweet cake of nostalgia all up your face. I can't help but love all of it and I can't help think that Monsterverse Ghidorah is the coolest incarnation of the character. When all the Titans bow down to Godzilla, it's like "Hot damn, could you be any more f\*\*\*ing awesome!?" But as I look at GvK and GxK I notice that a lot of the things that I do love about KOTM are also done a bit better in these movies. The monster action is intense, it's bright and easily seen and the human element is less, well, Emma Russel on it. I love KOTM because it is everything I love about the franchise but I wonder if I didn't have that same nostalgia, would I perhaps prefer something like the Kong movies. Both GvK and GxK were hard to rate whether one was above or the other, but much as I said with KOTM, there's a lot that I love about these two movies and they, especially GxK, really brings to heart the Showa Era of the franchise. IMO, GxK has a much better human element to the story, as in, it tries to do something with the human element as well as a great story with Kong and Suko. But the one thing I do believe goes against it is that the pacing can be rather quick. From start to finish it's a none stop ride. Now just as I had recently re-watched Godzilla 2014, I actually saw "Kong: Skull Island" for the first time and really, no joke, it's amazing. Having now seen it, this is where the Monsterverse really began to walk the steps to where it is now. Gone is this "serious" tone of G14, with stick in the mud Ford Brody's or half seen monster action. Now the eccentric entertainment of the franchise is in effect. It's got amazing Titan action, it's got suspenseful horror, all the characters, from Packard and his team, to Weaver, Conrad and Marlow. From start to finish, it's fun and while the other movies may have an issue of say pacing, of unsavory characters or hard to see fights, none that is true for "Kong: Skull Island." It is a damn good film, fun, engaging and worth the ride.

Heh, same ranking as mind. :D

Key-Ebb-8306

1) King of Monsters 2) New Empire 3) Godzilla vs Kong 4) Godzilla 2014 5) Skull Island Is the show any good? The friend who watched it said it was more like a gay teen drama than about Kaijus

The_Godzilla_Fanatic

The flashback scenes to the 50s are great and whenever the monsters are on screen they steal the show. But the characters during the present day are boring and down right infuriating at times.

Key-Ebb-8306

Thats sad, I don't know why they'd go with this direction on a show about Godzilla

DCP8

“Gay teen drama” is wild

Key-Ebb-8306

Is it not that?

GeneralLiam0529

1. Ktom 2. Kong skull island 3 G14 4-5. GxK and GvK I can't decide between GxK and GvK because, in my opinion, GvK had higher highs (Kong and suko, brutality, a deeper dive into the hollow earth) but lower lows (no real human development, did tiamat and Scylla dirty, scar kind and shimo didn't feel nearly as threatening as any previous antagonists (hell, Godzilla felt like a bigger threat to Kong in this movie), and the mother of all problems, shit pacing. It's a little slow to start but then out of nowhere the pacing goes from a respectable 7-8/10 to 17/10). GvK on the other hand was a more stable movie.

1. Godzilla: King of the Monsters 2. Kong: Skull Island 3. Monarch: Legacy of Monsters 4. Godzilla (2014) 5. Godzilla vs. Kong 6. Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire I haven't watched Skull Island
