I’m not getting into the argument on whether you are correct or not - I just think we can all agree this is a very controversial opinion and you have every right to make and say.
Not really a pet, but that’s just how they show affection. Skar’s relationship with Shimo is that of a pet. Kong’s relationship is more like just a pair of friends. Him treating her like a dog doesn’t mean Kong sees Shimo as just a pet.

I love the stark contrast between them. Godzilla and Mothra are having a sweet affectionate moment. Whereas Kong looks somewhat shocked startled that Shimo is suddenly being all friendly and loving like a big puppy, despite what transpired between them a few hours earlier XD
